Phase One (3)

She charged towards The Voidwalker and threw a punch at him. He dodged it and countered with a kick to the stomach. Astrid stumbled back and threw another punch, but The Voidwalker blocked it and countered with a punch to the face. Astrid fell to the ground and The Voidwalker smirked.

"Not so strong now, are you?" The Voidwalker said.

Astrid got up and charged at The Voidwalker again. This time she used her magic in order to gain the upper hand. I've never seen anything like it before, it was something that felt out of this world. It was like she was using an ability that wasn't from this world. Her aura changed colors as she punched The Voidwalker in the face. He flew back and slammed into the wall.

"ASTRID, THIS IS A FIGHT YOU CAN'T WIN, I PROMISE YOU!" I yelled.

"You don't know what I'm capable of." She said.

She placed her hand on the ground and summoned an entire black hole that pulled the person they were targeting towards it, She was using some form of Space Magic.

Before The Voidwalker was fully engulfed in the black hole, he laughed, It felt like this fight was far from over. "ASTRID! It's time I show you some respect. I've been waiting to use this... SOULBOUND SHADOWMELD!" A huge explosion occurred and blasted the barrier that Williams had on me open.

I looked around and saw nothing but a crater and The Voidwalker. Astrid and Williams stood behind me as we saw this eldrich horror lay in front of our eyes.

"He's using Soulbinding Magic, the most evil magic in existence, a magic that is used to merge souls together. This is bad, we need to stop him." Williams said.

"But how? How are we supposed to stop him if we can't even get close to him?" I asked.

"We have to try. We have to do something." Williams said.

The Voidwalker laughed and said, "This is only the beginning. I'll show you true power!"

He raised his hand and pointed it at us. A beam of energy shot out of his hand and hit us. It felt like my body was on fire. The pain was unbearable, I wanted to scream, but I couldn't. I was frozen in place.

"You're not strong enough to defeat me." The Voidwalker said.

I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists. I closed my eyes and thought about what I was fighting for. I opened my eyes and looked at The Voidwalker.

"You won't win this fight, Voidwalker. I will stop you." I said.

The Voidwalker smirked and said, "We'll see about that."

I charged towards The Voidwalker and threw a punch at him infused with my mana, but he caught my fist.

"It's futile to fight me. You can't beat me." He said as he punched me in the face and kicked me in the stomach.

I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists. I opened my palm and formed a condensed ball of light magic in my hand.

"LIGHT ORB!" I yelled as I fired the condensed ball of light magic at The Voidwalker.

He dodged the attack and teleported behind me. He grabbed me by the neck and slammed me into the ground.

"You're not strong enough to defeat me. Give up." He said.

I glared at him and said, "I'LL DEFEAT YOU, EVEN IF IT KILLS ME IN THE END!"

"Then die." The Voidwalker said as he raised his hand and shot a beam of energy at me.

"STAY AWAY FROM HIM!" Williams shouted as he threw himself in front of The Voidwalker's attack, taking the fatal blow for me.

Williams fell to the ground and coughed up blood. The Voidwalker looked at him and smiled.

"I'll let you have that one." The Voidwalker said.

I looked at Williams and saw the blood pooling around his body.

"Williams!" I yelled as I ran towards him.

He looked at me and smiled weakly.

"I'm... sorry." Williams said before he closed his eyes.

"NO!" I screamed as tears streamed down my cheeks.

"Now that he's gone, it's time for you to die." The Voidwalker said.

I gritted my teeth and clenched my fists. I looked at him and said, "You will pay for this."

The rage inside of my body threatened to consume my entire mind, it felt like everything, all of my ideals were about to be thrown out the window because of this man. I swore to never kill another human being no matter what, but this man is pure evil, there is no saving this monster from the depths of hell that he came from. I have to fight back, I have to end this once and for all.

"Sora, stay back. This is a fight you can't win." Astrid said.

I tried to justify putting myself in danger, I thought I would be doing it for Williams, but the reason I'm doing this is for me. I feel useless, no, I am useless. I will not rest until I am satisfied with the battle that I have fought for so very long.

"Sora, it seems my mana is running low. This form is quite hard to maintain, so we will meet again another day." The Voidwalker said.

"WAIT-" Before I could finish my sentence, The Voidwalker teleported away.

I felt the rage building up inside of me. I felt the anger, the pain, the suffering that Williams had gone through. It was all because of me. I didn't do anything to help him, I just watched as he died right in front of my eyes. I can't believe that I was so weak. I should have been stronger. I should have done something to save him. It should've been me.
