You're not going to die! I won't allow it!" "But wife...I do not want to have regrets in this world. I love you! And I want to hear these words coming from you, too." Edric then hugged her and tried to comfort each other. "We didn't even know if I'll die after you utter those words or not." He added making her to hit his shoulder. "I hate you!" "I know you don't. But if telling me that you hate me is equivalent to telling me how much you love me, then, I'll accept it, wife." "I hate you!" Jane uttered once again in between her sob and Edric replied with, "I love you, too."

Chapter 2: Feeling the Pain Worse than His Betrayal

King George immediately helped Sophia and called the Royal Physician to treat her injuries.

On the other hand, Violet was taken by his guards and was brought back into her chamber and was locked there until he told them to release her.

He was so happy of the news that he was going to be a father again and when he saw that his queen was hurting the mother of his child, he could not help not to be ruthless to her! She had already made him lose his first born and now she wanted to kill his other child?

Since when did she became so vicious?

Violet on the other hand was thrown into despair when George II didn't even give her a chance to explain herself to him.

It had been two days since the incident and she had not heard anything from them. Even her own people were prohibited to see her. Especially Suzane.

She was locked up in her own room and the guards would only come to give her food and would leave afterwards with no care about her at all.

She herself was lost on her own thoughts that she had not realized that she had been bleeding for days. If she could not stop it, she might die due to blood loss on the next few days.

She was known for her divine magic of healing but now, she could not even heal herself.

All she could do was to dress the wound on her head with the first-aid kit which she never thought she would use since she arrived in the Palace.

She found leaves of medicinal herbs and placed them on her wound before she wrapped her head with a clean cloth.

When she was done, the door suddenly opened revealing the Head of the Royal Guards who was serving directly to His Majesty King George II.

"Your Highness, His Majesty requested your audience in the throne room!" He announced.

Violet could not help but sighed deep down.

"Tell me. Am I going to be punished for the crime that I didn't even do?" She asked but the knights escorting her could only bowed down their heads and refused to answer her question.

Asking them was useless. She had already received the verdict the moment King George II entered Sophia's room and looked at her with murderous gaze.

When Violet arrived at the throne room, all the court officials were present with Sophia, her step-mother and the Queen Dowager. Sophia was even sitting on the seat right beside the King which was rightfully intended for the Queen of the Kingdom.

The King, King George II was sitting on the throne while looking at her with what Violet could describe as gaze of indifference and anger in it.

The same look he would always gave her ever since she married him three years ago.

As she looked at the man she loved dearly, Violet's heart ached as she recalled the first time she saw him.

They once met when she was still fifteen while the King was still a Prince and on training together with the knights under her father's guidance inside the Royal Wizard and Knights Academy.

He was so gentle and caring to her back then which made her young heart to only beat madly for him. She hoped that when she saw him again, he could still remember her.

When her father told him that she's going to marry George who was now a King, she was very happy! After all, she waited for five years just to see him again. What more, she'll be his wife. His Queen!

But her hopes were thrown into the drain when the moment she saw him.

He was far different from how he was back then five years ago.

He had become cold and distant. Far different from the friendly and caring student knight at the academy.

Her father explained that King George II had become like this after his father, King Philip was killed by the Demon King.

Though the situation was different, she still ended up marrying him and they held a grand royal wedding ceremony for the entire kingdom to celebrate with.

She thought everything was going to be okay based on how he acted with her during the entire reception.

But her hopes were thrown in the drain one more time during their wedding night.

He was not gentle to her at all. He was rough and she didn't like it. No! It was a total nightmare for her!

What broke her heart more was when he told her afterwards that though he married her, his heart would never be hers.

That for the sake of the Kingdom's stability, they should not let others to discover their real situation. Yes, he only married her because she could help him in battling their enemies. After all, she's the strongest wizard/mage in their Kingdom.

To add salt to her already broken and wounded heart, the man left into another expedition to conquer lands and expanding their territories.

When she found out that she was pregnant, George's attitude towards her had warmed up a bit and even asked her to stay at home as the baby's safety should be their top priority.

She's not allowed by the Royal Physician to use her magic since the energy was mostly gathered in the belly before it would be released as a form of magic. And that might endanger the baby.

She thought that since they're going to be parents, George would accept her as his wife wholeheartedly.

But then, an accident happened.

A group of demon beasts attacked her while she was on her journey going to her father's house. And it was an S-Class demons. The royal guards escorting her could not defeat them. They needed at least an S-Class mage/wizard to defeat one. But there were three of them.

Because of this, Violet had no other choice but to fight or else she would die in the hands of these beasts.

And because of that, she suffered from miscarriage when she reached her father's home.

Two days ago, she discovered that the attack was planned by her step-mother and her mother-in-law, the Queen Dowager.

For some reason, the previous Queen approved Sophia to be her son's wife instead of her.

Because of them, her child died.

Now, looking at the faces of these people, extreme hatred slowly enveloped in her heart.

She was someone who never cursed or intended harm to people but seeing them, she wanted to curse them to death!

If only she could still use her magic, she would kill them instantly!

Now that everything had come into this, she would not let them to trample her once more.

"Your Majesty, your Head Guard said that you wanted to see me?"

But instead of answering her question, the Royal Adviser to the King stepped forward and read a Royal Decree which would throw her into the abyss of sadness.

"The King, King George II of Aprivepan has decided to divorce his now wife, Queen Violet of Aprivepan for the reason of intentionally harming the heir to the throne in Lady Sophia's womb.

With this, Queen Violet will now be demoted into Lady Violet after their divorce and will be forced to leave the Royal Palace tonight. She'll live the rest of her life in the mountains of Enchanto where she will live in seclusion until His Majesty said so. This royal decree is effective immediately and is deemed irrevocable!"

When the Royal Adviser finished reading the decree, the guards were about to approach her but stopped when she waved her hand.

They really thought she would fight them through magic.

But to their surprise, Violet put down her hands afterwards and she spoke.

"So is this it? Punishing me for the crime that I didn't even do?" Violet spoke. This was too much for her.

The pain she's feeling was worse than the pain of being betrayed by him. It was so overwhelming and heavy to the chest that her heart wanted to explode.

"Aren't you even going to listen to my explanation?"

Violet then laughed wildly when she saw no reaction from them. Her mad laugh echoed and reverberated within the four corners of the room.

"Intentionally harming the baby? Who are you kidding?!" She furiously spat.

"Lady Violet! Mind your words! You're talking in front of His Majesty!" The Royal Adviser reprimanded her to act accordingly.

"Enough of this bullshit! I'm not talking to you!" Seeing the hatred in Violet's eyes, the latter shut up.

"When our...my baby died..." she paused as she corrected herself and continued "did you even conduct an investigation to find out what really happened? On who was behind the demon beasts' attacks? No right? No one knew of my situation back then except you and the Royal Physician. Did you not find it odd?" Seeing that the King had no intentions of stopping her, she continued.

"All these years you blame me for killing the baby in my womb, but did you even blame yourself for what happened? Where were you when I made that trip going to my father's house?"

"Are you accusing me of killing my own child?" The King roared angrily.

"I am not! But you didn't take responsibility of it! You may not treat me as your wife but as a King of this Kingdom you are bound to be responsible to us! Especially to me as your Queen!"

King George went silent as there's no way he could refute that. As a King of the Kingdom, he should be responsible for his people. The people of Aprivepan. And he failed to protect her as one of his people.

Violet took advantage of his silence and continued.

"You want to divorce me because I harmed her? Did you even see me casting my spell towards her? Did you even recall where I am when you come into the room? Did it even cross your mind of the possibility that it is a set up orchestrated by her to frame me?"

"My elder sister, are you trying to say that I hurt my own baby just to frame you? What did I do to deserve this?" Sophia said pitifully. She even shed tears to make her act and look herself to be even more pitiful and gain other people's sympathy.

Violet looked at her sister with deep hatred in her heart. She wanted to refute her but the King George II interrupted her.

"Don't accuse the future Queen of this Kingdom!" he roared as he defended Sophia from her.

"Are you going to deny that? Why are you there in Sophia's room? Why is there blood on your sleeve?" King George continued to ask her.

"You clearly attacked her with your magic." The King added.

"Magic? You accused me of harming her using my magic? Well news flash! I...no... longer...have... magic... since...the...day...I...lost...my...child!" Violet emphasized the every word of the last part of her statement.

Everyone gasped in shock when they heard this. They were all in disbelief.

"Don't want to believe me? You can call the Head Mage to check me!"

But then violet had changed her mind and grabbed the sword resting on the side of the knight and used it to cut her self with it.

Everything happened so fast that when they realized what was happening, Violet's arm was already bleeding heavily.

"If I'm still capable of using magic, I'll be completely healed by now. But I am not, am I?"

Violet then looked at the King George II to see any changes on his face. However, he remained indifferent and had no care towards her.

"Are you that eager to get rid of me out of your life? Then, fine! I'll agree to this divorce. However, I'll never let you dictate on how I'll live the rest of my life nor how I'll die."

Taking advantage that everyone was still speechless, she had taken the chance to leave.

Violet didn't mind Suzane calling behind her.

Suzane was a normal person, she could not use magic at all. So she could not stop Violet if she wanted to leave.

Violet then saw the magical horse and decided to ride it as she went out of the capital.

No need to pack. Though her father was a general, she didn't own many clothes when she was still living with her maiden family. All of the material things she had now were given to her when she became the queen.

So, how's the story so far?

King George was such a bastard! He deserved to be crippled.
