1 Vicious Hearts

(Edited Version)

The battle between the Demon King and armies and the seven Kingdom of Enchanting Continent was finally over and the people all around the continent were on high spirits as they celebrated this victory.

The League was headed by Aprivepan's young King, King George II who was only twenty-six years old compared to the other six kings of the six other kingdoms of Enchanting Continent who were already on their hundred to a thousand years old.

They also praised their young King for leading in killing the Demon King himself.

While everyone was having a feast of celebration at the capital's tavern, inside the Palace on the King's Chamber, soft moans could be heard outside the main room.

The voices had grown louder as both people inside had reached the zenith of their desire.

If someone didn't know about them, one would say that they were probably the royal couple whom everyone had envied because of their perfect relationship. They had witnessed them being so intimate in public just like earlier when Queen Violet welcomed His Majesty King George II, home.

But little did everyone know, on the corner of the chamber right outside the main room, a woman with an unreadable expression plastered on her face was staring at the door.

She was wearing her royal robe and dress under it, with her hair done in a neat bun. Her body was adorned with many jewelries with gold and diamonds specially made for her including the tiara on top of her head.

After staring for quite some time, a sad smile flashed on her beautiful face and a lone tear dropped from her left eye. She bit her now shaking lips for she was afraid she'd make a sound and would interrupt the pair inside.

Though she didn't see of what was actually happening inside, she could totally describe what was going on.

She then decided to turn around and leave the place with no hesitation left in her heart.

"Your Highness!" The Head Royal Servant assigned to the her called out in worry after she saw the former leaving His Majesty's royal chamber.

"Your Highness!" She called out once more but the she didn't listen to her.

The Head Royal Servant to the Queen had no other choice but to follow her as the latter made her way to her own chamber.

She was hoping that the Queen was in the right state of mind after witnessing what was inside and would not do anything reckless.

She then knocked the door and listened for awhile.

"Leave me alone Suzane!"

"But Yo-- Violet!" Suzane wanted to beg her to let her stay but the latter would not allow her to.

"Leave me alone! Damn it!" she cursed which was inappropriate for a dignified queen to do so.

Suzane heard her cursing on the other side of the door and she knew she should not pursue the matter anymore or else it would only get worse.

She should be reminding the Queen to be prim and proper all the time. If someone heard her cursing, there's a possibility that the people would threw rumors about her cursing.

But screw all that! She's (the Queen) in a difficult situation at the moment.

She had known the Queen since they were little and she was well-aware of the latter's temper.

She'll calm down after breaking some vintage things inside her room.

And so, Suzane had no other choice but to leave.

Inside the room, Violet was hugging herself in a fetal position as she tried to comfort herself.

She may not be crying now but deep inside she was dying. Dying from this agonizing pain that had always torn her heart to pieces every day.

She was so drained of crying to the point that there were no more tears left for her to cry.

Time and time again, she had witnessed him, the man she loved the most, being intimate with another woman in their very own royal chamber.

She had witnessed his adultery many times but she could not bring herself to confront him and his lover.

Even if she tried to appeal to the former Queen, the latter would tell her that she had no rights to stop the King from producing an heir to the throne.

Something that she herself was incapable of doing now.

For the sake of giving this Kingdom an heir, she swallowed her pride as the Queen and most importantly as a woman.

It was her fault after all why they ended up like this.

Because of her, the only reason for him to love her was gone. Dead.

Because of her, their baby died. She killed his heir to the throne.

And her husband, the King vowed to never forgive her for that.

Violet gathered the remaining strength in her small and fragile body and headed into her walk-in closet to change her clothes into a much lighter ones.

The clothes she was wearing were so heavy because of many layers of petticoat inside of it that she herself was surprised that she had not collapsed from wearing them since she became the Queen of this kingdom.

Violet changed into her nightgown and decided to sleep.

Later that night, she was awakened by the thirst she felt in her throat.

Seeing that there's no water in her room, Violet decided to go out from her chamber and then walked towards the kitchen.

As she gotten closer to the kitchen, she heard few voices coming from the kitchen.

Violet had no intention to eavesdrop but since she was headed there, there's no way she would not hear them.

"That bitch is still here? Mother, when will we successfully dethrone that dumb bitch from her throne? I wanted to be the queen of this Kingdom so badly."

"Relax Sophia. Your father's support is still on her. That bitch is so lucky for being chosen by your father to marry the King just because she's the legitimate daughter."

Yes. Violet's father was the Head General of the King's army. And the King, her husband had owed her father a lot. That's why no matter what, the King could never divorce Violet.

"But Mother, George love me now! Isn't it enough?" Sophia whined to her mother.

"Don't be stubborn Sophia. Listen to me and let's follow our plan. We have come a long way and successfully made her into barren. We cannot afford to make everything that we have done so far to be put into waste. Understood?" She told her daughter.

The mother and daughter had been so engrossed in their conversation that she didn't realize violet who was hiding on the darkness and had listened everything they had said so far.

Violet could only hug herself tightly as she didn't want to make any noise and to be discovered by them even if she was already trembling and fuming in anger.

She wanted to slap them but she couldn't.

Confronting them was futile. After all, these two were stronger than her now when it comes to magical power.

As a daughter of the strongest mage in all of the kingdoms, she was born with boundless magical energy in her body. Unfortunately, for some reason, she had lost everything when she suffered from miscarriage because she tried to revive the baby inside her.

Only her father knew of that fact. To protect her, her father asked her to never let others knew about her condition or else, she's destined to be doomed.

She's now equal to an empty shell after loosing magic inside her.

In fact, she should be with the King. Assisting him during the battle but she said she was sick so she backed out. And it was her step-sister, Sophia who went in the war with the King.

It won't take long for the rumor to spread that the Queen was rebelling against the throne or that the Queen had gotten weaker. But she didn't mind that anymore.

With this development in their relationship, it won't take long for the King to divorce her and threw her out somewhere.

The only card she had was that she's the strongest wizard in their kingdom, but even that was now gone. They had ruined her life completely.

She could not fight this mother and daughter with magic so she had to find another way.

Now, to fight them, she needed to gather solid evidence to support her claims towards them when she confronted the King.

She could not believe that her step-mother and half-sister could be this heartless towards her.

She treated them dearly.

She didn't even protest when the King chose her sister to be the woman who would carry the heir of the Kingdom.

"For now, focus on preparing yourself to be a mom. You will have a solid backing if you'll bear the King's son." Her step-mother finally said.

Then the voices from the kitchen died down.

When she realized that the kitchen was already empty, Violet released the breath that she didn't know she was holding the moment she heard the mother and daughter's conversation.

How could there be someone so vicious?

They killed her baby! They made her lose everything!

And with that, she would surely make them pay!

Maybe because she was so angry that she had forgotten the purpose of why she came to the kitchen in the first place and went back to her room.

She stayed up all night planning on what she would do to make them pay for the life that she had lost because of them.

"Baby. I'm sorry. Mother failed to protect you. Please guide me my child. Guide me wherever you are."

Violet could not help but let a painful sob to escape from her lips.

She woke up the next morning with a clear intention in her mind.

She would start her plan of seeking justice for her baby.

She was then informed that her husband went outside the Palace together with his soldiers.

They would be gone for three days.

Violet swallowed the pain in her heart as she continued her day.

She called Suzane into the queen's chamber as she had a very important task to give her.

"Gather our best people for intel gathering. I have a job for them to do." She said.

Suzane didn't hesitate and follow her command.

Three days passed, the people she asked had came back with a scroll containing a detailed report of what she asked them to do.

She read the scroll carefully and she smiled when she was satisfied by the report.

She then stood up from her seat and immediately went towards the throne chamber to wait for the arrival of her beloved King.

But before she could even reach the chamber, she felt a hard object hit her head causing her to pass out and lose her consciousness.

When she woke up, she realized that she was not on her chamber but on Sophia's and she was lying on the floor.

She immediately stood up and checked herself.

She winced when she felt the sharp pain in her head when she touched it.

She was also a bit dizzy and muddle-headed because of how strong she was being hit.

Suddenly, the door to the room swung open revealing Sophia wearing a beautiful gown.

Before she could even register what was going on, Sophia started talking.

"Why are you doing this sister? Are you jealous that George and I will be having a baby together?"

"What the hell are you talking about?" Violet asked in a husky voice even so, her anger was evident on her tone.

Sophia showed a sinister smile towards her and a ball of light then came from her hands and Violet saw when Sophia harmed herself with it when her own magic.

When she fell down, the door of the room then opened revealing the King with a murderous look on the face.
