Desperate To Live

*Maybe my soulmate died. Idk. Or maybe I don’t have a soul* - Iamnotshane. Jayden lives by only two rules. Rule 1: Never fall in love. Rule 2: Always remember rule one. He has always followed this principle after learning that he has stage four cancer and has only a few months to live. Jayden chose not to hurt any women as long as they did not fall in love with him because he was a cold handsome playboy who carries a deadly aura, but adored by all. His gray eyes were ravishing, and he had exquisite flawless skin. He was adored by everyone until he met a girl named Freda. Freda was a twenty-nine-year-old autistic patient, and Jayden was twenty-seven years old cancer patient. On their first encounter, Jayden, who enjoys being around women, sees Freda as a red flag due to her disability and her choice of clothing. He had sworn to himself that he would never run into Freda again, but fate couldn’t be more cooperative as they continued to bump into each other. Due to an unexpected situation, Freda has no other option but to start working in Jayden’s mansion. Freda pledged that she would fix the playboy’s heart so that he would fall in love with someone because she sees no reason why he avoids being in a relationship, but little did she know that she would fall for him instead. “But what if she discovers she is in love with a cancer patient? Will she suppress her emotions or work to make Jayden’s life as happy as possible before he dies?” “Will love save the day when death calls?” This book evokes a wide range of emotions.

I'll ride you on my bed.

"Hu-h?" She asked in a low voice, her brows slightly arched.

'Who the hell does he think he is to make such a blunder?' She questioned herself.

She had no idea what the young man's statement meant.

"Why are you surprised? Are you not here to pleasure our boss? That was a pick-up line, or are you brand new to the job?" Another man sitting next to Jayden questioned her.

Jayden was the person who had recently said that she turned him on, and despite the fact that he didn't appear to be drunk, the words that had come out of his mouth sounded like they were made by a drunkard.

Freda blinks a few times before looking at her puzzle box to calm herself down. "I'm still in the process of getting a job." Freda stated truthfully.

She was not sure what the other man meant when he asked if she was new to the job.

"Hahaha. Still in the process?" The man who had spoken up earlier declared as he laughed mockingly.

Following the man's laughter, the other men sitting beside Jayden began to laugh as well. "I'm sorry, but is there something funny?" She asked.

Another man chimed in, staring at Freda with a deadly glare. He stood up from his seat, and as he approached Freda, everyone looked at him, waiting to see what he would do next.

The man was in his late thirties and he raised his hands and just as he was about to hit Freda, Jayden stopped him right on the spot.

"I'll take it from here." He declared as he rose from his seat.

Freda expected him to stagger because the first thing he said when he set his eyes on Freda sounded like something a drunk person would say, but his feet seemed strong right now, so Freda pondered.

'Is he inebriated?' She questioned herself, but she refused to answer such frivolous questions until she had solid proof.

Jayden approached Freda and dragged her by the wrist as they walk away.

Freda quickly removed her hands from Jayden's grips because she felt uncomfortable.

Given that she had yanked herself away from Jayden, he smiled brightly before winking at her. "I'll make your night fantastic." Jayden muttered.

Freda arched her brows as she considered what question she would ask Jayden.

She had a lot of questions, including, 'If he's drunk. If he's all right and if he has a job to offer her.'

Exhaling, she pushed her goggles backwards. "Are you the one looking for a worker?" She questioned him.

She decided it was best if she asked him the important question because finding a job was important to her.

Jayden's lips curved into a devilish smirk as he fixed his gray gaze on her. He appeared to be a giant as he stood beside her because he was taller than her.

"Hold on." He declared before returning to where he was seated and grabbing an office bag from the table.

He turned around and raised his right hand as he smiled brightly, exposing his white, beautiful teeth.

There was something about his smile that was sexy and hypnotic. "I've got my office bag, little lamb."

Freda was aware that he was talking to her, but because she was so far away and there was loud music in the background, she couldn't hear what he was saying.

She shakes her head sideways and waves her hands. "I'm sorry, but I'm unable to hear you." She said.

Jayden could read her lips and picked up on what Freda had just said. "Little lamb, I got my office bag!" He yelled and then rushed towards her, grabbing her wrist.

Freda's eyes were wide open. "I'm not a little lamb." Freda shone at him before pulling her hands away.

"Lamb refers to a young sheep, especially one that is less than a year old or does not have permanent teeth. Furthermore, a little lamb represents someone who is gentle, meek, and innocent." Jayden was informed by Freda.

Jayden chuckled and nodded for some strange reason. "You appear innocent on the surface, but I hope you are not innocent on the bed." He said this while winking at her.

Jayden thought his wink was sexy, but Freda thought it was disgusting.

"Ew!"

Jayden began walking after wetting his lower lips with saliva. How disgusting.

"CEO Jayden, before I follow you, I'd like to know if you are the one with the job opportunity or if it is those still seated on that couch."

Freda was avoiding doing one thing in particular: following Jayden out of the club without figuring out if he's the one with the job offer.

"I have a vacant job at my mansion, and you must follow me to my car to sign the contract," Jayden explained.

His once deep voice was now fading, and his voice appeared weak, but his appearance was otherwise.

"Why don't we just sign the job contract right here and what's the job about?"

"Little lamb. It's crowded here, and you have to take your time before signing the contract." He stated as he attempted to reason with him.

Freda decided to keep observing him and she frowned afterwards.

Jayden was dressed in a white long sleeve shirt with two upper buttons on the side of his chest open.

His man bun was messy, and the belt on his trouser had come undone, so the belt around his waist was no longer keeping his trouser from falling down from his waist.

His shoes are filthy, and despite the fact that he appeared composed, Freda can tell he was drunk.

"CEO Jayden. I'll drive you home." She stated unequivocally.

Jayden's lips curved slightly. "That's my little lamb," He muttered as he led the way.

What on earth was he thinking? She was only going to provide him with a ride.

Jayden led the way to the club garage, where he handed over his car key to Freda.

Freda opened the car door, and Jayden followed Freda inside. "So little lamb. I'll let you ride the car, but once we arrive at my mansion, I'll be the one riding you on my bed." Jayden's declarations were bizarre.

Geez. What a pervert!
