Chapter 2 - She's Mine

(Kin’s POV)

“That’s not how you do it Kin. Earthlings have steps on how to get a woman.” I know they’re just holding their laughter and it makes me livid thinking that they are looking at me like a kid.

I told them yesterday about that I asked Diana to marry me and they did laugh but their laughter only stop when I lift the four of them.

“So what’s the right thing then?” I gave Clay a death look and he immediately become serious.

“Ah I m-mean, you need to take it slow.” He changes his tone suddenly. He may be noticed that I’m already not in the mood.

But that’s bullshit! Why do you need to do it step by step? Isn’t it appropriate to just marry me?

“Bro, not all things need to be done quickly. Some things needs time to build it perfectly.” I gave him a dark expression. What does he know about it anyway? He knows nothing except being reckless and facetious.

Jacob immediately grabs back what he said. “Yeah, just as I said that you’ll take it fast as you should.” Then he hurriedly left his seat. Bullshit! He’s really annoying to the point that I want to break him into pieces.

“You need to earn first her trust, Kin.” I shifted my gaze to Dew. He’s just sitting on the sofa while reading his book.

“Dew’s right. You need to strive to get what you want here, Kin. This is not our world anymore where you can get what you want in just a single snap and also Diana is not a Threan so basically both of you have different perception.” Flicke also joined the conversation. Somewhat they have their points. But fuck their points. I’m still doing it in my way. She’ll marry me because she’s destined to be mine.

(Diana’s POV)

I was barely eating my food after waking u early in the morning. I can’t really sleep last night and guess what, how I can sleep well if my mind keeps thinking about what Kin said to me? Marry him? What is he, a prince?

I’m not saying that it’s a big deal to me because maybe he’s just joking around but there’s apart on me that pushing me to make it a big deal. I in myself already confused about what I think. Why is that? I’m not like this in my previous situations dealing with men but right now it’s different. I’m really slowly becoming like Auzia.

“Hey Diana. Your food hasn’t touched. Does my cooking taste that bad?” she tasted the food in her plate. “It’s not bad, huh.”

“I didn’t say that it’s not good. I’m just not in the mood to eat right now.” She looked at me, confused.

“What happened?” I just sighed heavily. I’m sure that if I’ll tell her the deal, she’ll scream in excitement. After we left the cafeteria yesterday, she keeps smiling about what happen between me and Kin and I’m starting to think about it if she’s really happy about it or she’s just plain crazy.

“Nothing, it’s just our assignment in science is so stressful.” I lied and started eating the omelette that she cooked.

When we arrived at the university, we’re thankful that we’re ahead of time before Prof Gabriel enters in the room. We are quite late since the traffic outside is insanely long. “Good morning Professor.” We all greeted in unison as Prof entered. It’s really obvious in our faces that we’re intimidated about Prof’s presence in the class. Even I will not look back to my classmates at my back, I’m sure that they are all paying attention right now.

“Today, we will have a thirty minutes class and thirty minutes activity by group. I want you to group yourself alphabetically using your surnames but the group must only contain five members.” My gaze met with Auzia and she gave me a sad face. I’m sure we are not in the same group since the initials of our surnames is very far from each other if we will base in the alphabet.

“Group yourselves now.” We all stood up and look for our possible group mates. Andrea, our class leader arranged us all since she has the copy of our names.

I’m not familiar on the member of the group one but I know one of them. Dew Aedric. He’s one of the group one. I am in the second group and just what the hell does my guardian angel doing above me.

I and Kin are in the same group, together with Jacob Daniel, whom I don’t know, and Andrea. I don’t recognize anyone in the third group same as through with the fourth group. The last group is where Auzia was together with Flicke and Clay, two of Kin’s friends.

Luckily that Jacob was here too. Our atmosphere won’t be that awkward. But I’m not sure if Jacob is really ok. He keeps on smiling when our gazes meet and it scares the hell out of me.

“So that’s your group in math until the semester year ends. Now open your books on page five.” What the hell! So I will meet this idiot more often? Or should I say I will meet him every day. God, please retrieve my soul now, this is not good anymore.

All of my classmates paid attention to what Prof is discussing in the front. All of it is all about logarithms and of course I’m not one of those who pay attention. Even I’ll focus on that, nothing will enter my brain. That feeling that you’ve just blinked once but then the board is already full of solutions.

“Now on page seven of your book. Answer the first activity by group. I’ll be leaving you but make sure that you’re finished when I come back.” And just like that, Prof left us. Five of us stared at each other and it looks like I am the only one who doesn’t have any clue on how to do this.

“So there are four givens and we are five. Who wants to work in pair?” Andrea started a discussion. In just a second, Daniel also answered.

“Me and Diana.” I glanced at him and I was in awe looking at him. Did he just mention me? I hope you’re smart because I have no knowledge about this. I can only cheer you up until you found the answer.

“Okay then, begin answering your respective numbers and then we will just combine all of our answers in a one piece of paper.” All of them grab their pens and papers except me and Kin. I don’t know what he’s thinking right now because he’s just staring at the book. Sometimes I caught him looking at me but I don’t just mind it.

“So you’ll solve this one and I’ll just complete the last parts.” My pair confidently smiled at me while instructing me what I should do. He doesn’t even know that I didn’t understand what he said a right now.

“Uhmm...Haha! I really don’t like math. And I don’t understand what you have said.” Damn! This is so embarrassing! I really condemn this subject.

“Y-you don’t know how to do this?” I just nod at him still embarrassed. Please, make me invisible now.

“Then, I’ll just solve this for both of us. I thought you know how to do it, I’m sorry.” He chuckled then he started solving. I exhaled a large amount of air after hearing those words from him. Good thing that he’s kind and smart. He’s also good looking but the most important is that he can solve that Haha!

I shifted my gaze to the other groups and all of them are busy answering. Andrea is also focused in computing. I look at Jacob and he’s already tip-tapping his phone. I pull my chair closer to him to ask.

“Hey, are you already finished?” I tone down my voice so that we are the only one who can hear it.

“Yeah. You? Are you also finished with yours?” he smiled at me then keeps his phone on his pocket. He glanced at Daniel and looked at me in full of accusation. “You let him solve?” he grinned at me and smirked jokingly. He’s hot right now.

“I don’t know how to solve it so he covers all up.” I saw him holding back his laughter and it made me look down. I’m starting to think if I should start learning math so that I won’t look pathetic in this kind of situation but I still prefer to be pathetic than to learn math…Haha!

(Jacob’s POV)

I’m just maintaining my coolness here after hearing that Kin’s bride doesn’t know how to solve this easy problem in math. Even me who didn’t come from earth know this subject since this was also taught in Threa. I’m just unlucky right now since my surname doesn’t start in letter S. A waste of time because I’m not grouped with my bride.

Yesterday I discovered that Auzia, Diana’s bestfriend, was my destined bride and luckily she’s connected to Diana which made me think that it is easy to court her. I and Kin will just gonna work together to get their attentions. The only problem is that, Kin’s pride is way higher than Diana. I don’t think that they will have an easy relationship though.

I shifted my gaze to Kin and he’s staring at me lugubriously. I mouthed Him ‘what’ and I suddenly felt a sharp thing poking at my back. Fuck! What have I done this time?

“Okay class pass you outputs and we’ll check this tomorrow.” Kin stopped from using his powers on me and tried to act like nothing happened. Shit! That was close. I didn’t even know what I have done to him. Is he really that bored or something?

(Diana’s POV)

It’s our vacant right now and we have no proper class later in the afternoon too since there’s a faculty meeting I don’t know what are they going to discuss but I think it’s an event. “Bes! What’s the feeling that you have a saint looking guys in your group?” Auzia giggled while daydreaming about those transferees. Like the hell I care. I haven’t given any efforts a while ago and that made me think like I’m their burden. Thanks to Daniel!

“Just as normal as it must be. Nothing’s new about it.” We haven’t talked a while ago so I don’t know how to answer that specifically. I have no intentions too.

“Gosh, I thought Kin is already making moves with you.” And she even sounded like she’s disappointed because it didn’t happen? She really wanted me to be a toy of some random guy?

I was about to bicker with her when someone spoke in our front.

“Hi Auzia, Uhm…Calli suggested that we should study in group every free time if you want.” I glanced at Auzia and she seems uninformed about it. I looked at Jacob, of course I already know him since we’re group mates, and to his other guy friend. I think its Flicke. I’m not sure.

“Uhm…Ok but I think I’m not available right now. Can we do it tomorrow or some other time, I guess?” she’s literally maintaining herself not to scream. I’m sure he’s blushing.

“Sure.” Flicke answered with a smile. I was just wondering why Jacob is here right now. He’s not even their group member. Kin’s not here too. I’m not saying that I’m looking for him or something. I just noticed “We gotta go. Bye guys.” I think something’s wrong. Flicke’s emotion looks like he was just dragged or convinced for something that he didn’t wanted to do or to say.

“Bye too. Oh by the way, you’re Jacob right?” Jacob suddenly froze for a moment like he was caught off guard…or I was just daydreaming of it.

“Y-yeah.” He even stuttered.

“Oh right. Cause only Flicke and Clay are those in our group so i already know them. Nice to meet you.” Auzia smiled at him and Jacob just force a small smile as his reply. She’s really taking the opportunity of talking with these three huh.

“Oh? Haha…it’s ok. It’s not that bad if we will be friends right?” Jacob really looks like he wanted to poop?

“Of course not.” Jacob gave her a small smile before leaving us dumbfounded. What just happened?

After the three left, Auzia, out of somewhere, screamed annoyingly. She’s getting weirder and weirder as the time pass by.

“BEEES!!! Oh my god, I got them three? I think we’re really lucky here.” Lucky? How can she say we’re lucky because I’m already doomed in just two days?

“You’re the first. Kin asked you to marry him now Me, Flicke approached me like we’re already close.” She lied on the bench where we are sitting. So she think she’s gorgeous doing that?

“Stop spouting nonsense Auzia. We don’t know what kind of persons they are because if you’re going to be a broken-hearted again, I won’t take care of you anymore.” I really hate comforting someone with a broken heart. I don’t how to do it and I am afraid that I will just add more salt to their open wounds.

(Flicke’s POV)

I still can’t believe that I did that just for Jacob’s flirty moves. Actually we have no group study. Jacob just wants to see Auzia so right now he’s crazily smiling. So weird!

“Dude come on you’re already smiling for an hour. It’s not good in your health.” Clay laughingly commented about it while making burgers. Clay’s power is already his advantage here and it’s unfair. He can act like an earthling because of his knowledge while I and the others can’t cause our powers is too obvious.

“Thanks to me and you can smile like that.” I don’t know but me, Clay and Dew haven’t found our bride yet. And Dew is as peace as always. He’s just reading his book on the couch. I was wondering if where my bride is right now. I don’t have any clue where to find her.

“Flicke someone’s looking for you.” Both of us looked at Dew and he’s still reading the book.

“How can you say Dew? You didn’t even go to the door yet.” Clay asked. Yeah i didn’t see him standing and walking to the door.

“I did. But invisibly.” make sense.

I went to open the door and I was shocked seeing her here. “Hi Flicke, I forgot to distribute our hand outs in the school so I just ask your address on the registrar. Here.” She’s Mandy. One of our group mates in math.

“Thanks.” I glanced at my arm and I froze for couple of second seeing my tattoo glowing. It’s my tattoo! I look at it again and yes it’s glowing. Shit is it Mandy? But I haven’t feel anything while we are in the classroom.

“Oh by the way that’s Maddie, my younger sister.” I shifted my gaze to her car and I can feel it. The tattoo is glowing brighter and brighter. So it’s her. Her sister?

“Uhm Flicke I gotta go.” She bid goodbye but my eyes are stuck with her sister. Shit how can I get her?

(Daniel’s POV)

I look like an idiot right now smiling like there’s something good that happened on me. Yeah, there is. She’s really cute like when she complained about not knowing how to solve the equation. Does she notice that she’s cute doing that?

Right from the start, I knew that I have something for her. I’m not that sure at first but now, I think I’m already attracted to her. I don’t know what is it but I’m looking forward to know it.

I’m here at the arts building looking for the room of the department head. One of our teachers told me to bring these folders to the department head of the arts club. But not a moment, I felt that someone pushed me aggressively and I felt myself at the wall.

“Don’t you ever go near with Diana.” His jaw is moving aggressively. His voice is also full of authority. He’s Kin right? My group mate. But what the fuck is he saying? What’s his problem about me being close to Diana? They’re not even together.

“And why?” he closed his eyes trying to calm his self and as he opened his eyes his dark black eyes suddenly turns into flame. What just happened?!

“BECAUSE SHE’S MINE!!” he lifts me up and not in a moment, I already felt myself lying on the floor. Shit he’s quick!

“I’m warning you. Stay away from Diana because I won’t hesitate to kill an asshole.” He’s still in fury and I have no idea how to answer him. Damn you Kin. I’ll get my revenge!
