Chapter 38 - Upheaval in the Academy I

There was not a single cloud floating in the sky, and the stars flickered like crystals, shining with emotionally moving radiance.

Sandalwood crickets appeared on stage to take over the place of the dragon pill crickets, they sang their emotional songs in the grassy bushes, creeks, and tree branches.

The Gu Yue village was radiantly lit as if it was reflecting the bright starry sky.

One by one the dark green bamboo houses stood in the night wind, and beneath the star dome, it had a tranquil and peaceful ambiance.

He half-knelt and inspected the ground in front of the giant rock, touching the ground he felt a sense of wetness. This made him relived, thankfully nothing had changed.

'Good. There is no change in the Flower Wine Monk's inheritance. With this, I can proceed with my plans.'

Having confirmed that there was no change in the way the inheritance was set up, Fang Yuan got up and left.

Fang Yuan had his plans, while it would be much easier to take the Gu worms which he got from the Flower Wine Monk's inheritance feeding them would be a hassle. Besides he had mapped out his cultivation path already and as such he had already decided which Gu he would be needing and the White Boar Gu was not on his list.

The Beast Strength Gu was a series of Gu which allowed Gu Master to walk on the strength path.

The Beast-type Strength Gu changes the Gu Master's body constitution and raises Gu Master's strength permanently.

In the secret cave, Fang Yuan sat cross-legged and called up the system next he chose the Dao tab and under it, he chose Research and then selected Simulation and closed his eyes.

The function of this simulation was simply to show him if a particular method/procedure was feasible or not and if the ingredients used in it were correct or wrong.

Fang Yuan used this function of the system now because he was trying to come up with a new beast type Gu, this Gu will provide him with increased speed, agility, and strength.

For this Gu, he required more than ten ingredients. Some of them easily gotten from the wild but some not so easily gotten like - Blood and muscles of three different types of strong snakes. The snakes must at least be more than thirty feet long and weigh more than five hundred kilograms.

While some are easily gotten like the hundred li grass, ten-year-old swamp water, etc.

After a few hours, he opened his eyes and exhaled.

He soaked the muscles in the ten-year-old swamp water, after which he moved it into a large bowl, once in the bowl he poured the now cooled blood from the three snakes and the other ingredients inside, turning it into a kind of thick soup state. Once it reached this state Fang Yuan started pouring in his primeval essence making the soup shrink. When only a small portion of this soup remained it started shinning brightly, Fang Yuan immediately took out his small pouch of primeval stones and started throwing it in the stones one by one.

After throwing in about ten primeval stones the ball of light stabilized. Slowly the light dissipated to show a ten-centimeter-long Gu worm.

It was brownish-black in color, had two small beady eyes, and looked like an infant snake. Its name was also quite similar.

Snakelet Gu. A rank one Gu worm that ate any creature's meat for food. Fang Yuan allowed it to eat the dead rabbit's meat to satiate's its hunger for the moment.

This Gu will help him change his body's constitution and make him more flexible, at the same time it will increase his speed, agility, and also his strength.

But with this, the forty primeval stones that he had on him had been completely used up. He had to spend thirty just to get the ingredients from the system and the balance ten in the final portion while refining the Gu.

As such Fang Yuan decided to sell the White Boar Gu which he got from the Flower Wink Monk's Inheritance to the system.

The White Boar Gu was sold to the system for six hundred primeval stones and the Earth Treasury Flower Gu for twenty primeval stones as it was already used.

His first time Gu refinement had nearly taken an entire day, it was close to midnight now. Having finished what he came for Fang Yuan cleaned everything up and destroyed the traces of Gu refinement that had taken place and then left the secret cave and returned to the village.
