Chapter 39 - Upheaval in the Academy II

In the blink of an eye, three days passed.

During these three days, Fang Yuan spent most of his time in the academy dorm cultivating he didn't go back to the secret cave again during these days, going there every day was dangerous and might arouse suspicion.

Fang Yuan spent these days cultivating his aperture and using the Snakelet Gu to improve his body's constitution.

Snakelet Gu worked the same way as White Boar Gu, upon activating it a green-colored light would envelop his body and start changing the muscles in his body. If one continued using despite it, a person might even die from the pain.

Having finished using it Fang Yuan took out the dishes he had bought to eat. He had bought pork meat for the Snakelet Gu today to eat. It happily devoured it. Looking at the Snakelet Gu happily devouring the pork meat Fang Yuan feel deep into his thoughts.

Right now Fang Yuan had Spring Autumn Cicada, Liquor Worm, Lust Invoke Gu, Moonlight Gu, and Snakelet Gu.

Liquor Worm needed at least one jar of aged wine a day, Moonlight Gu needed four petals Moon Orchid a day and Snakelet Gu needed at least 10 kgs of meat daily. This caused his daily expense of Gu food to increase to around two primeval stones. Thankfully he was a frugal person as such his daily expenses were around three to four primeval stones including his food expenses.

As for Spring Autumn Cicada, its food was time itself and as far as the Invoke Lust Gu was concerned when he went out he would find one of the four servants of the Fang family -Shen Cui, Jun'er, Lian'er, or Tao'er to pleasure him once in a while, thereby taking care of its food problems. During this time he found out from Shen Cui that her mother had kicked her out of the Fang house to work on the farm as she had refused to seduce Fang Zheng. This surprised him as he had thought that Shen Cui would take this opportunity when he was not around to seduce Fang Zheng and become his mistress or wife. Anyway since she had proved her loyalty for now then he would help her out if it was beneficial to him. If someone says that he was being too cold-hearted by only helping Shen Cui and the others if it was beneficial to him, after all, they had already proven their loyalty to him, then Fang Yuan sneer. Only a fool would believe in things such as eternal love, loyalty, and friendship. Leaving only Moonlight Gu on his palm and hid the Spring Autumn Cicada in his aperture. The Spring Autumn Cicada was a rank six Gu and as such the academy elder wouldn't be able to find it.

After getting ready he left to go see the academy elder.

Currently, it was evening the academy elder was getting ready to go have his dinner and then retire to bed. At this time a subordinate knocked on the door.

"Come in." the academy elder said.

The door was pushed open and a subordinate entered.

After entering the subordinate said, "Sir, a student named Fang Yuan from this year's batch has already finished refining the Moonlight Gu. As you had instructed your subordinates earlier to report to you the very instant the first name appears, I came to inform you immediately."

The academy elder paused and asked, "Fang Yuan? You said the student is called Fang Yuan?"

"Yes, sir. The student introduced himself as Fang Yuan." The subordinate replied.

"Are you sure it's Fang Yuan and not Fang Zheng?" The academy elder asked again.

"Positive, sir." The subordinate answered patiently.

"Okay. Led the way." The academy elder decided to go and check himself.

Outside Fang Yuan was waiting in the hall. When he heard the footsteps he turned around and stood up.

Upon seeing him, the academy elder immediately asked, "Gu Yue Fang Yuan?"

Fang Yuan nodded his head and then extended his palm to show the Moonlight Gu.

After checking the refined Moonlight Gu, the elder placed his hand on Fang Yuan's shoulder and checked his aperture, currently, there was less than fifteen percent of rank one initial stage jade green primeval essence in Fang Yuan's aperture.

"Okay. I have confirmed that you have refined the Moonlight Gu. As you are the first in your batch you will be rewarded 20 primeval stones." The academy elder said a little dejectedly, as the one he had expected to win the first prize was Fang Zheng and not Fang Yuan.

"Okay." Saying so Fang Yuan turned around and left nonchalantly.
