16: Attack on Akiyama Town

it was nearly Night time, the sun was slow setting..

after rushing at his full speed for nearly half an hour itsuki managed to see a sign which said "Akiyama town" it was pointing to the path leading north.

"yesss.... cawww, its here akiyama town, caww itsuki go"

the crow cleared his doubts and itsuki continued to rush there, it was nearly night time as well meaning the demons would definitely be attacking sometime soon.

"cawww... hurry before the group of demons start attacking again tonight...cawww" the crow continued, itsuki just ignored it, he wasn't flash, he was already moving at his fastest speed, which was already surpassing human limits by a far.

reaching the town, itsuki sneakily snuck in, it was far bigger than the town he grew up in with auntie Li, and it seemed even more bustling as well, the night stalls were lit as people occasionally rushed to places, something definitely wasn't right.

itsuki decided to get information first, but he did keep his ice domain on passive, so he could perceive and hear anything and everything.

"there" it wasnt long before a conversation entered his ears, it was coming from a lit stall surrounded by lights, it was cheerful and seemed to have alot of people inside.

demons appeared in towns, which people knew about, causing them to talk about it and spread word, this was how demon slayers usually did their tasks.

itsuki dissolved his ice domain and went forward, he took slow steps and didn't stop his gaze from wandering around at all.

after entering the small bar-type building, itsuki immediately took notice of the scene around, after a little observing he came across some information.

"you bastards really wont believe me?" a drunk man said emotionally as he slammed his wine bottle on the wooden table.

"well.. its just hard to believe, afterall its been a long time since such things like that happened in akiyama town" another big guy with a beard said as he laughed, he seemed to be drunk as well.

"believe me, my wife and our family went to visit her sister like a few days ago in their neighborhood, her and my wife were home while i left with the kids, but when i came back they told me how they had smelled the stench of blood and flesh, after looking around, they noticed dark figures in the dark feasting on something that looked like the body of a human, thats when they ran back" as the drunk man talked his veins popped, he felt like smashing these people in their head for not having trust in him although being his trusted friends.

although he wasnt there, he later returned to the area where his wife and sister in law were in the morning, and indeed there was the stench of blood and even a rotten smell there, something had indeed happened.

"sir, im a traveling person, can i invite you for a drink, and you can tell me more about your story?" as the man was breaking down he was approached by the tall and handsome itsuki.

seeing that someone wanted to hear his story as well as invite him for a drink he was excited and began introducing himself.

he was named "yami" he was a tall and strong man, he lived with his wife and they had two children, a teenage girl and a little boy.

itsuki paid for the drink and foods the man bought for the sake of the mission of the demons, he needed information.

the man went into full detail about what happened, and it turned out that after that day, they noticed more bloody messes appearing around that same area, as if people wandering that area were all killed.

itsuki thanked the man, after getting the mans address he followed him home under the act of "making sure he was safe since he was drunk" the yami even showed itsuki where the area had happened, it was in her sister in laws neighborhood, near a small forest of trees which were inside the town.

itsuki didn't endanger the man's life anymore and sent him home before continuing on his own from there, he decided to come up with a plan.

he decided to wait a while when it was really dark, if somehow someone ended up wandering the dark area like that at night, there was definitely a problem here, afterall no one would go there on their own at a night like this.

"could a upper or lower moon be in charge of this?" itsuki thought as he stood atop a tall building with a sharp gaze.

the sun had already set, he would wait here, according to yami its been happening everyday, and he wasn't the only one with the story, other people in her sister-in law's neighborhood have all said similar things
