There has to be a definite spot with a portal that's allowing these creatures to come out, exhausted and pretty much covered completely in demon blood and their terrible stench, I use my sword to create a path through the Rawks and try to find the portal.
Remembering the fact that we have probably less than 10mins to get back before the aircraft arrive for pick up.
It didn't take me long to find the source of the portal, stopping just inches from the edge of a large sinkhole just before I could fall in.
I let out a grunt of pain as I flair my arms and stand on my toes to try and keep myself from falling forward, holding my entire body as tense as I can while I struggle not to give in to gravity.
The action caused pain to travel through several wounds, but much to my relief I somehow found a way to not fall in and instead took a step back.
Letting out a sigh of relief, I stare at the swirling purple hole in the middle of the sinkhole, stabbing the sword in my hand into the ground I fall to my knees and close my eyes.
Taking a moment to breathe in deeply, I let it out slowly before reopening my eyes. Glancing over my shoulder I ensure the rest are still distracted by the Rawks before gripping the blade of the sword.
Running my palm down over the sharp edge of the blade, I hiss when it slices through my skin as my blood coats the steel deep red, a thick trail of my blood running down the blade.
"Kavji mer krecgh uyvol masenti lacos del a musvax." I whisper beneath my breath as I hold my bleeding hand out, squeezing my fists so the drops of my blood could drip downwards into the portal.
Letting my demon side take over, even though I knew the action would exhaust me, I practice a spell I haven't done in ages and command the demons to my will.
"Kavji mer krecgh uyvol masenti lacos del a musvax!" I repeat several times until I felt the urge of power jerk out of my body, several swirls of colours invincible to the human eye slowly whirls out of my body into the air and the scent of my blood called unto the demons. Making them lose all sense of control.
Immediately, they halt in their movement, hovering in the air for a few seconds before every single one of them swarm in my direction.
I grabbed my sword, throwing the large weapon down into the swirling pool of violet, and lay flat on my stomach.
Covering my bleeding palm beneath my body I waited until every single one of the Rawks flew back into the portal the way they came.
And as soon as every one of them disappeared, the portal closes up immediately and I stare at the empty hole tiredly, my breathing suddenly shallow as I feel the poison of the Rawks finally break through every barrier of my immune system.
Rising back up slowly, I shake my head to clear my blurring vision with a small moan of pain and weakness.
On my knees, I let out a long breath as my body slowly topples backwards, gravity winning out over my ability to stay upright.
I don't feel the impact of my head slamming hard on the ground beneath me as I fall, and the last thing I remember before losing consciousness was the worried calls of my name.
Heavy pounds of feet caused the ground beneath to vibrate as I listen to the sound of rushing footsteps heading in my direction.
At first, I thought they belonged to the three figures hurrying over to me until I heard the sounds of several drones approach.
As black dots cloud my vision, I feel the dust beneath my body pick up into the air, the wind suddenly blowing widely around my body as my vision was clouded by tiny particles of dirt.
As if the earth wasn't polluted enough, the SETF had to make things worse by rousing up dirt and infecting our immortal organs to the point of falling prey to deadly diseases and viruses.
