Chapter 72: Explosion

Rhodes was stuck in the war machine and can't control himself. The only thing he can do is inform Spider-Man: "Be cautious, the data indicates that a missile is about to be launched."

"Understood, Mr. Rhodes."

Spider-Man swiftly attached his web on the suit and hurled it at the incoming missile. With a bang, the missile exploded. Rhodes expressed satisfaction, "Well done, kid. Be on your guard; the machine gun is activated."

While using spider web to jam War Machine's machine gun, Spider-Man quipped, "Why does this feel like cheating?"

"Ivan, that trap you set up is quite effective."

"Tony Stark, you're the dirtiest and most revolting bug I've ever seen..."

The battle between Iron Man and Ivan was intensely fierce, with both of them fighting and hurling insults at each other, stirring up past grievances and the hatred of the present generation. Tony's sharp tongue and Ivan's foul language were at a master level.

To be honest, Tony was a bit frustrated; why did he have to understand Russian? If he didn't comprehend it, many words could be automatically filtered.

The Iron Monger sent Wade flying with a punch and urgently communicated with Ivan: "Ivan, we can't continue like this. Iron Man has S.H.I.E.L.D. support, and time is on his side."

"Obadiah, to the sky."

Ivan snorted coldly, abandoning his opponent, and ascended into the air. Iron Man was about to pursue, but War Machine let go of Spider-Man and embraced him from behind. Tony exclaimed, "Again?" Simultaneously, the remaining unmanned suits raised their right fists one after another, and then, their fists detached from their bodies like cannonballs and ensnared Psylocke and the X-Men with chains.

"Be cautious, something strange is happening."

Psylocke swiftly severed the chains with a backhand knife and warned the others. Everyone didn't dare to underestimate the situation and dodged the unmanned suits' chains. However, Colossus, Wade, and Cyclops were a bit slower to react and got entangled in the chains.

Soon after, the arc reactors on the chests of all the unmanned suits and War Machine lit up red simultaneously, as if the bombs were counting down. Even the damaged unmanned suits were no exception.

Tony's expression changed, and he urgently shouted, "Watch out, those arc reactors will explode soon."

While speaking, Tony freed himself from the war machine's restraints and asked Jarvis to crack the system of the war machine with full force - earlier, Tony had placed a small device on the war machine.

Controlled by Ivan, the war machine charged madly towards Tony. Rhodes sighed wryly, "Tony, don't worry about me, just run."

Tony retorted, "What are you saying? You haven't paid back the money you owe me?"

Rhodes rolled his eyes and stated, "I think I'd rather die, and besides, what I owe is your bank's money, not yours. To be precise, it's called a loan."

"You messed with the arc reactor?"

Obadiah flew into the sky and asked Ivan in surprise, "Don't tell me the arc reactor on my body will also explode?"

"Don't sweat the details. Those who obsess over details are idiots."

Ivan shot Tony from the sky and declared, "The most important thing now is to prevent them from escaping."

"The ones who don't care about details are idiots, right?"

Obadiah cursed, and if he guessed correctly, the batch of arc reactors given to the organization also had problems. This guy Ivan is definitely an asshole.

Continuing to curse, Obadiah didn't lose his cool at the moment. He raised his gun and fired wildly at the X-Men.

"Jean, you go first."

Cyclops shouted, utilizing his lasers to destroy the chain. Jean, naturally would not abandone Cyclops, as she used her psychic powers to toss aside the wreckage of the unmanned battle suits on the ground.

"Psylocke, assist Colossus. I'll get you out of here."

Storm said as her eyes turn white, summoning strong winds that even deflected bullets.

Psylocke swiftly approached to sever the chain in front of Colossus, and then flung her katana towards a distant building. The katana had a purple light rope attached to its back. As the light rope contracted, she soared into the sky.

"That's impressive."

Spider-Man complimented as he landed beside Wade and said, "I'll get you out of here."

Wade lay on the ground in a rather peculiar, or rather, disgusting posture and replied, "Leave me be. Go on your own. I want to receive the pension from the Stark Group. Miss Pepper is so generous; even Iron Man is living off her fortune." Iron Man's face darkened at this remark. This was the worst time he was insulted.

"Spider-Man, ignore Wade. He won't die. His super unscientific self-healing ability keeps him alive no matter what."

Colossus shouted, and simultaneously, he, Cyclops, and Jean took off into the sky amidst the gust of wind.

"You go. Don't worry about me, I can't die. But you, be careful as not to be replaced by others. Spider-Man my friend cum couple cum partner."

Wade laughed and added, prompting Spider-Man to scratch his head before turning around and shooting spider webs to escape into the distance.

At this moment, Iron Man successfully cracked the war machine's system. He controlled it & disengaged it from Rhodes and carried it into the sky to his two adversaries. Ivan and Obadiah cursed before fleeing into the distance.

"An unexpected gain."

Andrew smiled as he manipulated the staff in the warehouse and created an illusion that encompassed the people around them. The warehouse was located in a relatively remote area with only a few thousand people.

These people had witnessed the intense battle earlier in the morning, and most of them had opted to sign a contract. Andrew dispatched a group of robots and led the contractors to escape swiftly.

In the next second, boom boom... Thirty unmanned battle suits and a war machine exploded simultaneously, sending flames and black smoke billowing into the sky, shaking the world. Hammer Industries' warehouse was razed to the ground, and nearby buildings were swept away by the shockwaves.

Iron Man, X-Men, and the others hadn't flown far enough, and they were all blown away by the explosion. Fortunately, no one died, but some were injured.

As for Wade, of course, he didn't die. When he took flight, he yawned in the air, contemplating what gift to buy for his wife.

"What a bunch of bugs."

Ivan complained, scanning the scene unhappily. He had considered continuing his battle with Iron Man, but Obadiah convinced him otherwise, saying, "Let's head to Manhattan. We have allies there, and we'll deal with Iron Man there."

"Let's go." Ivan hesitated for a moment before swiftly flying towards Manhattan with Obadiah.

"Take me with you. You can't handle them both alone." Psylocke secured Tony's feet with the energy rope and urged. Tony was a bit touched. Psylocke added, "It doesn't matter if you die; the important thing is that it will hurt me, and I won't be able to get the money."

Tony rolled his eyes, expressing a mix of emotions.

It's worth noting that Psylocke's psychic energy can protect her, so she isn't worried about the incoming wind.
