Chapter Two

Season 1

Chapter 2

"The Burning Stable"

The Tribe was still developing, so Mathilda was helping out in any way she could since her parents were forcing her to. Eventually, she is interested in helping the tribe become something better than it is. Mathilda got all these fantastical ideas she offered her parents that they had yet to listen to.

Mathilda wrote all her ideas down in a book, even the rejected ones, hoping someone would pick them up.

Mathilda was an only child then, so there was no one for her to talk to; it was mind-numbingly dull and frustrating.

Mathilda wanted an incredible city like those old books; she wanted a fantasy world; she wanted flying wagons, horses, and fairies.

Mathilda decided to follow one of her ideas rules:

Invent new fantastical things.

This old horse stale was located in a rougher part of the town, built in 1909.

Rumor has it that a body was hidden somewhere around the place; that's not an accurate rumor, though, since An infamous murder happened here long ago.

Mathilda was expecting a boring horse trip but never wanted to go there for the horses. Who cares about them? She tried pulling the wood off the old stable to build a plane.

Everything in her body told her not to go, and she felt this overwhelming dread. This made her paranoid that something would kill her if she went inside, but there were no other structures around that didn't belong to her tribe.

Mathilda was going to siphon material from old, abandoned structures anyway. That's how she got wood to build things for the tribe; she never told her parents.

Mathilda went in like a white girl from a horror movie, no matter what the dread said. Mathilda didn't like doing this but did it anyway to fuel her childish ambitions of turning the tribe into a metropolis.

Mathilda went inside; she didn't care about the amount of noise she made since no one seemed to be inside. This reminded her of when she and her old friend would ransack old, abandoned homes.

Mathilda has a flashback...

Mathilda and her old friend, Missy, looked for boards to board the tribal homes. Missy had a bitter argument with Mathilda while doing so, however.

They were in This small house, which looked old-fashioned and was in average condition. The interior is done in colors that remind you of an old newspaper. The yard is enormous and neatly trimmed.

Mathilda wanted to return the boards to the tribe because "If we keep the boards here and move the tribe into the house, we'll move black Cherokees onto white territory, and they hate black people more than natives!"

Missy yells, "But we have a ready-made house right here; we can just move in!" Pointing to all around them as she walks in frustrated circles.

The children's bitter argument worsened when Mathilda yelled, "Don't be so dopey and foolhardy!"

MISSY:

"But, it's a lot more work if we used crappy stuff to build our homes rather than just move in!"

A shadow zooms past the two, but nobody notices it isn't their shadow.

MATHILDA:

"Any adult would look at you and tell you you were frickin' dumb!"

The owner of the mysterious shadow accidentally knocks down a bottle, they're unaware it fell, but the owner of the shadow is.

MISSY:

"And how the heck would that matter?"

The owner of the shadow peeks through a hole in the wall to spy on them as they fight.

MATHILDA:

"Do you want white people to kill us?!"

The owner of the shadow chuckles.

MISSY:

"They may have barbaric practices, but we'll be fine!"

The owner of the shadow is white, unlike the girls, so he is slightly offended.

MATHILDA:

"Sucker, you just said the reason we shouldn't move here!"

The owner of the shadow is amazed at how articulate these children are.

MISSY:

"They won't care!"

The owner of the shadow wants to speak with them, he may hate the adults of humanity, but he loves children.

MATHILDA:

"THEY BURN CROSSES! THEY DON'T FEAR GOD!"

The owner of the shadow knew that many white people feared God, like the Amish.

MISSY:

"They're not all bad!"

The owner of the shadow hated The Amish.

MATHILDA:

"So, I'm supposed to ignore the ever-present danger?!"

The owner of the shadow hated the Amish because they weren't Catholic like he was, so it offended him that Mathilda was claiming white people burned crosses as if all of them did.

MISSY:

"I know there's danger, but we need a nice home!"

The owner of the shadow thought safety was more important than a lovely house; he thought Missy was highly ridiculous to even use that as a defense to move into a white and dangerous neighborhood.

MATHILDA:

"THEY WILL KILL YOU FOR BEING BROWN ALONE!"

The owner of the shadow didn't deny this.

MISSY:

"I know that!"

The owner of the shadow began to become confused.

MATHILDA:

"They will kill a European for being brown; they don't care about you as long as your brown!"

The owner of the shadow was laughing because it was true.

He saw a brown Greek woman get stabbed because some white guy assumed she was black due to her Dark olive skin tone.

The color of Dark olive skin is brown.

He was the one that told the guy to stab the Greek woman.

He only knew she was from Europe later.

MISSY:

"I didn't know that."

The owner of the shadow laughs at her for not being aware.

MATHILDA:

"If an adult white man killed our people because we listened to you, it'd be your fault!"

The owner of the shadow had seen enough and decided to kidnap Missy.

The owner of the shadow wanted to hold her for ransom so the tribe would try to get her back.

Once they showed up, he'd kill all the men that came to rescue her. So he'd leave Mathilda alive so she could bring in the human bacon.

The owner of the shadow decided to load his gun to scare Mathilda, so he shot Missy in the leg.

After this, Mathilda rushed to help Missy.

The landlord of the shadow chuckles to see how easily she headed to her pal after her buddy was incapacitated.

"They quarreled a minute ago; now they've abruptly patched things up?" The owner of the shadow is presumed.

The owner of the shadow blow kisses Missy and then shoots Missy in the other leg to immobilize her.

Mathilda gathers up Missy and tries to carry her out of the cabin.

They just discovered that they were not alone!

The proprietor of the shadow slapped the wall in a fury to witness them fleeing.

Mathilda bears Missy outside to get back to the tribe as fast as conceivable.

The lessor of the shadow felt defeated.

The owner of the shadow's entire goal existed to lessen the denizens of humankind.

Yet... He failed, and two humans fled alive.

The shadow proprietor started fantasizing about brutally tormenting the two lassies.

The owner of the shadow proceeded to go outdoors to see if he could acquire them to bind them up in the cellar, but he couldn't.

The owner of the shadow noticed that they were long gone.

The owner of the shadow imagined burning them alive on a grill.

TOOK A WHOLE LOT OF TRYIN' to kill people.

The owner of the shadow learned that it was a challenging accomplishment.

The owner of the shadow desired to be in THE BIG LEAGUES ♪ of massacring individuals.

The proprietor of the shadow was determined to push on and locate other someones to extinguish it.

The owner of the shadow made it his life's vocation to terminate the lives of humans.

The owner of the shadow assumed it was most profitable to do so.

The owner of the shadow shifted back inside and lingered around for the next lure to arrive.

The owner of the shadow remained and lingered, but nobody arrived.

Back at the tribe, Missy's injuries were healed by a white medic.

Her parents chastised Mathilda for once again stirring beyond the tribe alone.

Missy clarified, "We merely wanted to fetch lumber for the tribe so that we would have something to construct our bungalows with."

Mathilda nodded.

Her mother screamed, "You could have been hurt!"

Her father says, "Let the adults handle fetching the stockpiles. You aren't prepared, it appears."

Present Day...

Mathilda hears the sound of muffled men muttering.

Mathilda was too frightened to get any closer; she departed the stable and headed outdoors but remained behind to hear the gentlemen from outside.

They were outside as well, so when she peered around the corner to catch a glimpse of the coast was clear that they were drinking and conversating on how to slay a white lady named Gurkha, not because of her ethnicity, just because she's a human.

Mathilda felt frightened.

Mathilda sprinted back to her tribe as snappy as imaginable.
