Pov Clowey:

The gates opened in front of me, and behind us, I saw Gregory holding off Mom. Noticing that he might lose the fight, I had a decision to make, do I leave with the rest of the group, or do I stay and help him. The answer was easy.

Hiding in some of the bushes next to the gate I waited, I watched as Gregory ran into the gate followed by mom. After she passed the gate, I took out my knife, the reason I took it wasn't for killing anyone, but for butchering meat. I sneaked through the gate, being very careful not to make any sound.

"But I got you before you could get past the gate, you see I'm stuck here until I die and if I ever leave I will die, these demons stuffed me with a lot more things to make sure I'm in check" I could tell mom was going a little crazy as I snuck through the gate, I planned to save Gregory while not killing mom, I don't think I could handle killing her.

"I'm probably going to die soon, I let some of the livestock escape, they will kill me for this discretion, but at least I'm going to be able to kill you along with me!" Mom said as I saw her reach for the knife that was stuck in her stomach, as her other arm locked onto Gregory's neck, I was right behind her at this point.

Was it worth it… killing your mother?" Mom said as she raised the knife above her head, getting ready to strike. Now I was in a dilemma if I don't do anything Gregory will die, but I don't see a way to save him without killing Mom, and if there is a way it would be risky, so there was only one choice, the worst choice.

I lunged forward with my eyes closed, I didn't want to see what I was about to do. *Stab* I felt resistance as the knife was shoved into something, I could guess what it was, so I let go of the knife.

"Clowey you came back!" Gregory said in happiness and relief when I heard that I knew that I was successful in killing my Mom. I started falling to my knees, now in despair, but before I was able to fall I felt I was caught by Gregory.

"Come on Clowey, we still have to escape, the rest are waiting for us!" Gregory said, he was right, I can grief later, we have to escape now. I open my eyes and stand back up, trying my best not to look at Mom, I focus my eyes on Gregory, and what I saw shocked me.

On his right shoulder was a blood-stained blade, sticking right through his flesh, I don't think he has noticed yet being too caught up in the moment. "Oh my God Gregory" I gasped as I saw the blade, he was losing blood very fast, he already lost a lot from cutting off his ear, but with the blade in his shoulder, he might die.

"Come on we have to get you patched up, here I'll help you!" I say as I help him along across the bridge, when he looked at me he just had a smile on his face. "I'd rather not die so that would be of great help!" He joked as his face got sickly and his speed of walking slowed. "Hmm, I don't think I'm going to make it Clowey, but I want you to do one last favor for me, at least get me over the bridge," he said with a calm smile.

I didn't listen to him, I was determined to make him, I knew that for my safety that doing this was a bad idea, but I didn't care if there was a slim chance that I could save him, then I'll take it. 

I didn't respond to his comment but just helped him hobble his way past the bridge, his movements got slower as more and more blood spilled out of his body, it got to a point where I had to drag him, but finally, I got him over the bridge and… he disappeared without a trace the only thing left was his blood trail.

Third Pov:

The forests around the orphanage burned, the only safe place being the orphanage itself, Grandma was standing at the gate, watching the whole place burn. "This isn't going to be salvageable!" She said, She looked at the dead body of Mom in disappointment. "And I was excited about you, what a failure." She said while shaking her head.

She then looked at the demon next to her. "There is still some livestock inside. What do you want to do with them?" Grandma asks the Demon next to her, although she was of high power, she was still under the demons. 

"We will just send someone to capture them, but I'm disappointed with this performance Grandma, do I have to hire someone new?" The oddly smooth voice of the demon said. She looked scared. "No don't worry I have a very promising new Mom ready, she will surely be better than this," she said panicked. "It better be, because you're on thin ice," he said.

-----A Couple Of Years Later-----

A group of older kids was laughing together, there were only about five of them. "Hahaha, come on Clowey lighten up, we haven't seen a Demon in a year," a kid named Adian said. "No, I'm just thinking about Gregory?" The Girl said. "Oh come on Clowey, you're still thinking about that guy? Come on lighten up, you still got us four" Adrian said while giving Clowey a side hug.

Clowey smirked a bit before saying, "Ya I'm being a little too gloomy, what are we doing today?" She said back. And so they kept on living, in a place away from demons, having a fun time.

Pov Gregory:

I appeared in the back void, Clowey had just dragged me, I was on the voice floor bleeding to death, I knew I wouldn't last long. "Congratulations on completing the tutorial death game! Now before I reveal your completed Side Quests I must heal you." I heard the voice of my guide right above me, he kneeled and put his hand on the knife in my shoulder, and yanked it right out.

"Shit!" I yelled. I felt him put his hand on my wound and felt a burning sensation, he left it there for a while before letting go, the pain was no longer there, I put my hand on my old wound and all I felt was a scar. He then put his hand on my ear and the same thing happened.

"Unfortunately I'm not able to heal lost body parts, you can buy a replacement ear in the shop." The guide said as he stood up. "Now let me tell you what side quests you completed!" He said as a neon screen appeared in front of me, it was of the same font as the neon words I found behind my eyelids.

A long list of Side Quests appeared in front of me, I even had to scroll down to look at them all, I don't know how well I did, but looking at some of the Extreme or Nightmare Quests, I agreed that they were very hard, I didn't even get the same amount of points as 1 extreme quest.

I turn to the guide and say "is there a higher difficulty than, Nightmare?" I ask him. "Yes, there is one higher difficulty, Impossible difficulty, for 3,125GP" the guide answered.

"Oh yea, How long have The Death Games been going on and who runs it?" I asked the question I wanted to ask before I left this place. "The death games have been going on since the beginning of life and death, and the thing running it is the system," the guide said.
