6 Suspicion

Pov Gregory:

The scene of me discovering Drake's body kept playing over and over, I would run through the forest in darkness, reaching the gate, then finding Drake's Lifeless Corpse, and the entire scene would rewind, just for it to play again. This happened forever, or what seemed like forever, over and over and over again, and is just as terrifying as the first time. Then I woke up.

*Pah-ah* *Pah-ah* *Pah-ah*. I was gasping, I felt sweaty, very sweaty. Looking around me I noticed that I was in my bed, it was early out, and the sun barely peeked through the windows. Everyone else was still asleep. 'It's just a nightmare.' I thought as I sighed with relief. 'But that doesn't mean walking up isn't a nightmare.' I think as all of the stuff that happened last night came rushing through my mind.

'Ok I need to think of a plan to get out of here, the next time a child is going to leave is in 2 months, that may be me but I won't know until a month from now. Before I think of a plan I have to know my circumstances, which means understanding the what, when, where, why, who, and how of the situation. I first ask myself a question, then proceed to go through some of the things above.

What is happening in this orphanage?

What? Well, Children are dying and I'm in danger.

When? Every two months, when in the grand scheme of things, I don't know.

Where? Well, they are dying at the gate and coming from the Orphanage.

Why? I don't know, I'll have to think about it.

Who? Mom, Aunt Erica, and probably some hidden force.

How? Stabby Stabby?'

That was my general process for my thinking, it was very systematic, but it helps me collect my thoughts. "Ok children, time for breakfast." The voice of Aunt Erica came from the door, her demeanor was oddly happy, I thought she was sick. She walks over to the windows and opens the curtains letting the sun burst through.

"Ugg" groaned some of the kids as the light went on their faces. I just get up off my bed and make my way toward the bathroom to wash my hands. Before that, I try to put on a relaxed face, but a sad one too, it would be weird if I was all ok when my best friend just left.

I walk down the steps and to the bathroom, I wash my hands before I make my way to the dining room, and I notice that Mom has a new baby in her arms. I wasn't surprised this happened. "Oh, Gregory! You're up early… Did you get much sleep? You look tired." When mom noticed me she saw that I was tired. I just put on a dejected look and scratched the back of my head while saying "I couldn't get much sleep, I'm still sad that Drake is not here." I half lied, the best kind of lie. Her eyes softened when I said that. I could barely believe that the person in front of me was the person who chased me through the woods last night.

"Oh, it's ok, you'll get over it soon, could you bring Maya here to her crib for me, that would be of much help." Mom said in a caring tone. I smile back at her and say "Sure" while carefully picking up Maya in my arms and going up to the baby's room, though most of them are past the point of babies.

Putting her down on her right side, I notice that behind her left ear is a lump, I don't take notice of it and just assume it's a mole. After getting done with that I make my way back to the dining room to eat. When I get there I notice that most of the kids are already eating.

'I should talk too closely again, tell her what's going on, and maybe the 9-year-old twins Adrian and Adriana, also maybe the 8-year-old Brian. Having more brains is better, and I don't think it's a good idea to escape by myself, it's better to have people, the worst that could happen is that they become meat shields.'

-----------Later At Recess----------

"Clowey I have something to talk to you about, but let's do it at recess". That's what I said to Clowey when we were taking care of the babies. Now we are under the same tree we talked to each other about last week. "ugg don't tell me that this is the same topic, I told you to stop-" I cut her off and said, "Clowey I know what's going on, I'm here to know what you know about our situation, you did get all weird when Mom came into the babies room last week." She looked stunned.

*Sigh* "Fine, I don't know much about the situation, all I do know is that this orphanage is not what it seems and that Mom is not all that she seems, I don't really like thinking about it though. I got all weird when mom came by because I thought our situation was something like human trafficking." Clowey explained herself.

'So she doesn't know much.' I thought. "It's worse than that, Clowey, I followed Mom and Drake at the gate, Mom wasn't currently there but I did find Drake…" just the thought made me sick. "And what did you find?" She said, 'Do I tell her or do I lie and make the truth more bearable? No, I should tell her the truth, she is the smartest person in this orphanage.' "I-I found D-Drake's dead body in the back of a cart!" It was difficult for me to get that out and Clowey looked shocked.

"He-He was… He was dead?" I could visibly see the shock on her face. "Why would they kill him though?" Still shocked, Clowey asked. "I don't know, but what I do know is that we have to escape from here, or else we will die," I say, gathering back my courage.

"Also I was chased back to the orphanage by Mom, I don't think she knows it was me but she knows that someone was at the Gate". This time I saw Clowey collect herself. "Ok you don't have to say anymore, I believe you, also Mom is looking at us right now, so here is what I want you to do, you should be sad that Drake is gone so I want you to make a scene of you being sad, to throw off suspension." I just nod at her, and without looking behind me I start my act.

I went up and hugged Clowey and put my head on her shoulder. I acted as if I was seeking comfort from Clowey, Clowey repealed when I touched her. "How about something a little less next time?" She said as she reluctantly hugged back. I smirk back at her and say "Oh come on Clowey, it looked like you needed a hug anyway, hehe" I chuckled seeing her in such a situation.

"Let's talk later," she says as she pushes me off of her and crosses her arms. "Ya we'll talk later," I say as I walk away from Clowey.

I was surprised that Clowey was able to handle herself so well, I thought she would be freaking out as I did when I saw the quest failed prompt. I walked over to the rest of the kids to play with them.

Pov Clowey:

I watched as Gregory walked over to the other kids. What he said did shock me, I couldn't believe that all of my friends that I have had over the years were dead, and now even Drake is dead!

I sat down under the tree and started contemplating my situation. I noticed that I was taking it very well considering how messed up the whole situation is. I saw Aunt Erica walking over to me, she's probably also in on it, we were already in a bad position having Mom knowing that someone was at the gate, and Mom probably told Aunt Erica. 'Great now we have two problems.'

"Clowey, would you be a dear and tell me what you and Drake were talking about?" 'This is stupid of Erica, she is just alerting me if I am the culprit of going to the gate'. "He was just sad that he won't see Drake anymore?" I said with a fake smile, I noticed that she got sad when I said Drake's name.

'We both already thought of a story to tell mom so if she goes and asks Gregory then she'll just get the same answer, also I already knew that Drake was Erica's child it was quite obvious.'

"Oh, ok" is all she said before she walked over to where Gregory was. 'So this dumb bitch didn't even do anything to save her own child, she can go burn in hell for all I care' I thought.

(If you do not give me your power stone and a review then I will find you and shoot an arrow in your knee, so you better do it)
