Chapter 47: Police raid (1)

Yan Huo brought Lin Fan out of the warehouse and they continued walking down the hall before they went into one of the random rooms along the hall.

When Lin Fan came in, he saw that this was one of the rooms that people used for 'that' and he couldn't help feeling worried.

Did Yan Huo bring him in here to question him or did he bring him in here for something else?

Yan Huo looked at Lin Fan and saw the expression on his face. When he did so, he couldn't help revealing a bitter smile as he said, "Relax, I'm not going to do anything to you. Not to mention that I don't swing that way, I like girls."

Lin Fan revealed an awkward look on his face.

It was fine if it wasn't said, but when it was clearly said like this, it did make it awkward for him.

But then Lin Fan got over that awkwardness and looked at Yan Huo before asking, "Then why did you bring me here?"

Yan Huo revealed another smile, a normal one this time as he said, "I'm on your side, would you believe that?"

Lin Fan immediately knitted his brows when he heard this, but then he remembered something as he asked, "Who is this young miss?"

Yan Huo gave a laugh before saying, "Sharp boy, you remembered this. It's too bad that the identity of the young miss is not something that you're qualified to know. For now, just know that you just have to play the part you're given."

Lin Fan knitted his brows even more as he asked, "And what part is that?"

Yan Huo said, "Just wait, you'll see what will happen soon."

Lin Fan said, "I can't just wait here, there's stuff that I need to do still. Not to mention that you're Ouyang Yan's ally, so how can I trust you?"

Yan Huo revealed a confused look, "Why do you think that I'm that b*tch's ally?"

Lin Fan was also confused when he heard this, "Didn't she just follow your orders? Why would she do that if you and her weren't on the same side?"

Yan Huo gave a laugh at this, "Just because she follows my orders means we're on the same side? She just knows what's good for her, that's why she follows my orders because going against the young miss is…"

Yan Huo let his words hang and he didn't finish them, but that didn't mean anything to Lin Fan since he was able to understand the gist of it.

Lin Fan didn't bother with this and went back to the main topic as he asked, "So why are you helping me? Or rather, why are you on my side?"

Yan Huo narrowed his eyes to look over Lin Fan before saying, "I honestly don't know either. For some reason, the young miss is interested in you and that's all you need to know."

Lin Fan revealed a puzzled look, but based on the clues from earlier, he could tell that there was nothing to gain from asking about this young miss.

There was a thought that suddenly passed through his mind. Could it be that it was Liu Yue again?

But he immediately got rid of that thought since if it was related to her, why would Yan Luo send him to investigate a place that already belonged to her? Moreover, they wanted to take this place over, so it clearly didn't belong to any force that was already under her.

Most importantly though, this quest wasn't one that was related to the B rank quest or Lin Fan would have seen it appear as a prerequisite for it right away, so that was the last reason why he was certain that this wasn't related to Liu Yue.

Then just who was this young miss?

After thinking for a bit, Lin Fan decided that this was as much information as he could get from this run, so it should be about time to load.

But before he could, Yan Huo suddenly said, "Don't even think about using your powers."

Lin Fan was stunned when he heard this.

How had Yan Huo noticed that he was about to use his load?

Rather, how did Yan Huo even know about this?

Seeing the confused look on Lin Fan's face, Yan Huo revealed a smile before slowly saying, "You don't even know about other power users. You really have a lot to learn."

Lin Fan immediately asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Yan Huo stared right at him for a bit before explaining, "When power users use their abilities, there is a flicker of energy that suddenly appears. It doesn't matter what ability it is, there will always be that sign that they are about to use their abilities. But of course, that only applies for anything that isn't physical which is the lowest grade of abilities. Those people aren't worth anything to begin with."

Physical? Did he mean super strength like Liu Yan had?

That was a power that had allowed him to punch a hole in a person and that wasn't worth a thing?

What kind of power would be worth something if even that kind of power was useless?

After explaining, Yan Huo added, "I don't know what kind of power you have, but I'm assuming you were about to use it to escape. I wouldn't."

Lin Fan narrowed his eyes as he looked at Yan Huo and asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Yan Huo casually said, "Your friend made a call for backup after you separated and now the police are on their way for a raid."

Lin Fan was taken aback when he heard this, but then he quickly asked, "Since you know this, why are you still here?"

Yan Huo just revealed a smile and didn't answer the question directly, rather he asked another question, "What would you do if someone who knew things they shouldn't know was no longer useful?"

Lin Fan didn't know how to answer this at first, but as he thought about it, he suddenly realized something. Lin Fan said in a hesitant voice, "You would...get rid of them?"

Yan Huo suddenly gave a clap that surprised Lin Fan before saying, "You really are sharp. Good, it's always nice to deal with smart people, they get things quickly."

Then after a pause, he didn't forget to add, "Of course, you can't be that smart if you even forgot about the cameras."

Lin Fan felt awkward when he heard this, but before he could say a thing, there was a sudden loud noise that came from outside. After that there were screams and shouting as he could hear people loudly saying, "Put your hands up and don't resist! You have the right to remain silent!"

Like Yan Huo had said, there was a sudden police raid that had been sent to this club.

Lin Fan really couldn't keep up with all the sudden changes that had been happening with this quest. Normally there were things that he could predict and things that he could go along with, but there was nothing but surprises with this quest. It was almost as if he was trapped in the palm of someone's hands…

Still, since it seemed like that person, the person behind Yan Huo and Ouyang Yan, the one they called the "young miss" seemed to want to get rid of Ouyang Yan, there was no reason for him to load just yet. It would be better for him to play along and see how this went since there was a chance that he would still be able to finish this quest.

Yan Huo also heard this and he turned to look at the door with a smile before turning back to Lin Fan to ask, "Shall we go and watch the show?"

Lin Fan felt a chill run down his back when he heard this, but after hesitating for a bit, he still gave a nod.

Yan Huo opened the door and said, "After you."

Lin Fan and Yan Huo left the room they had been in and headed in the direction of the warehouse since that would definitely be the final target of the raid and where the climax of this quest would be. That meant that was the place Lin Fan had to be since he needed to see this quest through.

Along the way, almost as if it seemed like it was planned, they didn't meet a single person in the hallway. They could hear all the sounds around them, but it seemed like wherever they went, there was no one around.

So along the way, Yan Huo also began making small talk with Lin Fan.

They talked about many things, but there was nothing important that was discussed.

That was, except for one thing.

Lin Fan had suddenly asked, "What will happen to all the girls that were forced to be here?"

Yan Huo just smiled as he asked back, "It's the police, what do you think will happen to them?"

Lin Fan didn't give up as he continued asking, "What they did here was illegal in the end…"

Yan Huo asked back, "What do you think I can do about it?"

Lin Fan didn't say anything.

In the end, Yan Huo said, "I can tell you that nothing will happen to them, is that what you want to hear?"

Lin Fan once again didn't say anything, but this did confirm one thing for him.

He already knew that it was impossible for Murong Yue to call this police raid alone, which meant that there had to be another factor. The only other thing was the "young miss" that Yan Huo mentioned before which means that they did have connections with the police…

Lin Fan and Yan Huo arrived at the entrance to the warehouse, but before they could go in, there was a voice that shouted, "Lin Fan!"
