53 Chapter 61 No meddling, remember?

Rhio POV s

"Who's that bastard?"

She laughed a little, "No meddling, remember? You're just here to listen, right?"

"Are you happy?"

"Maybe," she shrugged then bit her lip, "After I repay all his kindness, I will stop. Until I don't feel guilty anymore."

"Are you sure that you're repaying the right person?" we locked eyes. Hers were surprised while mine were serious and concerned.

It lasted long until she averted her eyes first and smiled, "What do you mean?"

My calves felt sore from sitting down too long. I felt some little pain shooting up my back but didn't let it show. I'm fine now. I stretched my arms nonchalantly and let the wind blow against my body.

"Are you off from work today?" Jasmin wondered. She took the emptied wrappers and the remaining pack of fries then stuffed them back to the bigger paper bag.

"I just don't feel like going to work today," I said honestly. "But really, delve into everything about your boyfriend. You might be wasting your time for the wrong person."

I walked back to where the car was parked to get the bottled water we bought. That woman must be so thirsty. She stayed looking at me as I went and returned.

"Catch," I said at a fair distance before tossing the bottle to her.

She caught it but stumbled a little and brushed against some dry dandelion puffs. Its lightweight fluffy seed balls floated in pieces in the wind like little parachutes. My gaze went from it to her.

"I'm really thirsty," she smiled in thanks. "Not only flowers need water."

"Right, I noticed there are always fresh roses in the chapel altar," I recalled.

"Good to hear," her smug smile turned to a frown as she tried to unsuccessfully pry the bottle lid.

"I'll open it for you. Give it to me."

She refused so I tried to snatch it from her grip. Her hand remained clutched at the container so she got dragged along when I pulled it at full force. Her body awkwardly flung to my chest.

"I'll do this," I volunteered then pried it open easily. Her movement caught my arm so the water spilled directly on her face down to her dress.

"Rhion!" she screeched.

I smiled.

"Here, let's just share," I handed her my own bottle and drunk her half-emptied water.

"I wanted to drink not bathe. I'm soaked," she complained.

"You just got wet a little," I teased, "Wait here. There must be some extra tee shirt in the car."
