27. Unhappy

Yun Lui thought of what his adoptive parents have said. They had advised him to not be so rigid right now.

Just as he wanted to see if the other person will trust him by giving him his books, why don't he be the one to show him that trust too by getting rid of this condition though they agreed it was a smart one.

Yet they also agree that dealing with people entails a lot more than being smart. One needs to build rapport. Mama Chi had made sure to hammer her thoughts into his head.

Well he wanted their opinions and now he's got it. Whether he likes and will take it or he doesn't like it and will drop it is solely his business.

With many thoughts on his mind he decided to visit his older brother at the guild tomorrow and seek for his and his wife's opinions too. As for Muchen, he had been the one to first take the stance that his parents also took.

"Lulu, how have you been. You didn't bring the kids?", Chi Yuan asked Yun Lui, after Chi Lan has ushered him in.

"No brother, they're at home. I came here to seek the opinions of you too on something." Yun Lui said and went ahead to give them every details about the deal.

"Wow, how serendipitous. Yun Lui, I envy you.", Chi Lan teased and Yun Lui blushed. He still feels shy around the older sibling.

"Yes, Lui. This is very perfect for you. It so perfect that I want to wonder if had saved your country from your past life.", Chi Lan joined in the tease, making our pour Yun Lui's face as peachy as the fruit.

After they had all laughed for a while Chi Yuan cleared his throat and said, "But on a more serious note, I think you should drop that condition of yours. It doesn't help you as much as it will affect the other person.

Those documents are very sensitive and are usually stashed in a safe somewhere secret. Having to even bring them out for a deal like this is not worth it, I'll be very honest with you. I'll even suggest that if you don't intend to cancel this deal, then go and cancel that condition. Don't let him know that you are still expecting him to agree to that. It will rather let him lose his trust in you and make you seem quite suspicious.

This person is going to do most the work and is even offering a down payment before production, that is like being offered a loan with no interest and yet you don't have to pay back in cash but you pay with your own products thus earning you more profits...", Chi Yuan went on and on and wife also continued when he finished. They were all saying the exact same things that he had heard yesterday.

"Because those documents can destroy his family."

And normally, one hardly goes to where these records are kept to prevent anyone from knowing where they are. So imagine a stranger that you're trying to do business with asks you for them. Aren't you going to be suspicious of them?

This man, I am guessing really loves his wife so much and with how wives can be persuasive, he was able to convinced him. Your condition will even let him know that you have trust issue.

Yun Lui left the guild feeling worse than he was before. He decided to go to see Muchen at work. He didn't want to go home. He avoided passing through the market today. He was not in a good mood to speak with anyone.

"Lui, what brings you here?", Muchen asked.

"Brother I came to spend time here. I don't want to go home now."

"Oh okay. Let me check something first.", Muchen said and left.

"Hey, officer Chi's wife, we haven't seen you around lately. Are you doing okay?", A colleague of Chi Muchen asked.

"I am find. I have just been quite busy recently."

"Oh I see. Have you seen him yet? Should I call him for you?"

"No please. I've already seen him. There he comes.", Yun Lui said as he saw Muchen coming.

"Okay. Then I'll take my leave please.", the colleague said and left.

"Lulu, let's go to my office. We can talk there for now. but you'll have to be alone should I leave for any emergency. Will you be okay?". Yun Lui nodded to that.

"So tell me, what is troubling you?", Muchen asked.

Yun Lui did not answer him.

"Brother come sit in this chair please.", Yun said with a voice like that of a pampered person, patting the wide space of the big sofa that he was sitting on in the office.

"Nope. I will not. I have to attend to these documents. Why? What is wrong with you?", Muchen asked him. Yun Lui was behaving like the times when he was depressed and had just given birth to the twins.

Chi Muchen had suffered during those times. He does not want to think about those moments again.

Yun Lui was doing well during his pregnancy stages. He even wanted to work at one point but the physicians had advised against that since he was already in his third trimester and with twins. So everyone had assumed that all is well with him, healthwise.
