Chapter 37: Ghost Rider vs Sabbac 2; A long-awaited reunión

"Talking"

'Thinking'

"Ghost Rider/Sabbac/Demonic Raven"

"Riders"

-------------

In one of the farthest huts on the site, 7 figures stood outside, as they positioned themselves to enter. They had not foolishly rushed in. They were assessing the situation. Their master had been clear, they could not fail in this mission, so they preferred to be cautious.

One of the mages, who had cast a tracking spell, said.

"Lord Kobra, I detect only one presence in the place"

Kobra only nodded at these words, but did not give the order to move. He only turned to look at his werewolf companion, named Miles and said.

"Miles, what do your senses tell you?"

"Sir, my senses also detect a presence. Specifically in the far room"

"Perfect, on my signal, let's go into defense/attack formation... NOW"

They all positioned themselves in a formation where they left no opening. One mage was right in front, and another was right behind. Two were on the sides. One of the werewolves was in the front and a vampire was covering the rear. They were pretty well coordinated. Right in the center, was Kobra, being protected by everyone.

The hut was just a normal hut. Just a little bigger than the others. It had what any home needed. A kitchen, beds, closets, and so on. There was nothing special about the place. But that didn't stop them from advancing cautiously. A trap could spring at any moment.

Walking slowly down the hallway, they reached the last room. But the group encountered a peculiar sight, since there was no one there. It was an empty room. However, Miles, who had the best senses of the group began to sniff something odd.

"Sniff, sniff... sir. There's someone in here"

"Detection magic, NOW" the mages configured their power and followed Kobra's orders. They quickly detected that, in fact, in the far corner, there was a figure, though to the eye it could not be seen.

"Sir, there" one of them pointed to the corner. Kobra smiled mischievously at this.

'Found you' he thought.

'You and you, go' he said to the two mages on the banks. They moved closer, but just as they were about to reach the hidden cabinet... something moved.

Out of nowhere, a spiky shadow materialized right on the ground the wizards were standing on. They, who had no enhanced physical ability, were unable to react and ended up being impaled by the spikes. The light of life was extinguished in a matter of seconds for them.

However, the others who saw this scene, and saw how two of their troops died easily, could do nothing, when Kobra sensed the imminent danger.

"Shields, NOW" the mages made two improvised shields, which protected the group. And just as well, because just at that moment, a shower of things began to attack the group.

Knives, forks, spoons, and other utensils flew towards the group. Even some of the closets and other things were added to the chaotic rain. Worst of all, there were also weapons. Small knives, or small swords were hidden in the closet and were adding to the rain of things.

Just at that moment, Raven came out of the closet, floating slightly with her glowing purple eyes. This was the contingency plan. Make the attackers think she was defenseless, and strike at their most vulnerable moment.

One thing must be said. Every floating thing, though common, was actually configured to harm. That is, even spoons, used at the right angle, could seriously injure someone, as they were sharpened by Edgar to the point where they could be considered weapons.

Raven was using her levitation power to rain all this on the humanity of the attacking group. However, although improvised, the shields made by the dark mages were holding up well and it was not clear how the rain of stuff could get past the barriers.

However, Raven's plan was never to harm them with this. This was just a distraction. Then, out of nowhere, something strange happened to the defending group.

Out of nowhere, the werewolf Miles began to growl in anger. This took the group by surprise, but what followed, made them go completely numb.

"Grrr, grrrr, damn you Alucard, you stole my woman, I WILL KILL YOU" Miles said in an angry manner towards Alucard, who was the remaining vampire in the room.

"But what are you saying, you idiot? I don't like hairy women!"

"I WILL KILL YOU, GRRRR" Miles, however, did not listen to him and attacked. Miles moved at a thunderous speed and quickly wanted to tear Alucard apart with his nails. This took the vampire by surprise, as he actually felt that the attack made by Miles was meant to kill. He could only begin to defend himself. An intense fight was beginning to form between the two.

This was because of Raven. She and Edgar discovered that her empathic power could go beyond just feeling someone's emotions. If combined with her soul or astral power, she could even influence a person's feelings, making them believe or feel what she wanted them to. At this moment, she had configured her power to make Miles, the werewolf, feel that Alucard, the vampire, had slept with his wife.

This action caused the well-positioned group to fall into chaos. And it caused the mages to lose their concentration and drop their shields. When this happened, Raven did not sit idle and attacked.

Another series of spikes shot out at Kobra. He quickly dodged it by using another mage's body as a shield. He did not mind sacrificing the lives of his subordinates. His life was more important.

"Damn it, don't just stand there and attack" said Kobra angrily to the last mage in the room.

The mage began to throw dark fireballs. However, Raven who had trained with Edgar, and who had improved her shield to a point where even his heavenfire couldn't get past her, didn't care about these little balls of darkness. And as she thought, these balls didn't even faze her shadow shield at all.

Raven used that same shield and launched several projectiles towards the mage. The mage defended himself with a shield and launched his own projectiles. A hail of projectiles started because of this. Both gave no quarter. Raven was more powerful, but the mage was more experienced and knew when to defend himself. They were quite evenly matched.

Raven, however, just wanted to distract him. So when she saw that the mage was fully focused on defending himself, she used her telekinesis and moved one of the thrown knives, and sent it flying at a thunderous speed at the mage's face. The mage couldn't react in time, and his head was completely impaled by this knife.

'Three to go' Raven thought. He looked at the scene of the werewolf and vampire fight, and saw that the werewolf had practically killed the vampire, and was tearing him apart. However, his anger and irrationality were beginning to subside with this.

'Hey, what happened to me?' thought Miles. "Shit, Alucard" there he could tell that he had his friend's head in his mouth, and that his friend had stopped breathing a long time ago.

(AN: I don't know if vampires breathe or not. They're not supposed to, but... I don't know. I just put it as an indication that he was dead)

However, he could do nothing more when other shadow spikes pierced his chest right through the heart, killing him.

'There's one left'

Only Kobra was left, but Raven couldn't find him. What she didn't know was that Kobra was a master of stealth. And he had taken advantage of the fact that she was concentrating with the others to position himself right behind her. This made him attack her

"Damn girl" with his nails this one cut part of Raven's back. A strong poison began to enter her body. This only started to make her dizzy.

"My master said he wanted you alive, but I think if you arrive in a coma there is no problem. This poison is one that will stop your heart quickly. Don't worry, I will give you the antidote, but already when you are in our lair"

Suddenly, he didn't continue speaking when a strong earthquake erupted in the area. This only made him smile mischievously.

"You feel that, girl. That is the power of my Lord. Right now it sure is tearing your friend apart"

'No, not that' thought Raven. Another tremor was felt and stronger. It could even hear it cracking in the sky. Whatever was happening, it was tearing the whole place apart.

She started to run to help Edgar. But when she started walking a strong dizziness made her kneel down. The poison had spread fast enough. And it was starting to cloud Raven's mind.

"You know, you put up quite a fight. You're pretty powerful for your age, I have to admit. Unfortunately you're unlucky and again, you're going to be alone. You will always be alone, until you accept our lord, and follow him"

Another tremor arose

"Hahaha, my lord is getting excited. Sadly his power will cause this place to be destroyed. How sad. Great memories I have of this place" Kobra made a longing expression. "I would have loved to see all those bitches get slaughtered. Good thing at least I was the one who caused that bitch Azar to die, hahahaha"

Raven was feeling weaker. Her life force was slowly diminishing. She was starting to become lethargic. But the words, spoken at the end by Kobra that he was the cause of Azarath's destruction a long time ago, made her feel an indescribable rage. Memories of her beloved sisters, of Azar, and especially of her mother came into her head.

She began to emit a blackish energy from her body. Her eyes, once purple, began to glow blood-colored.

Kobra felt the sudden change in Raven's energy. He thought she was going to pass out already, but now he felt that she had renewed energy. He couldn't think about this, however, when he had to barely dodge other shadow spikes that materialized right where he was.

'That was dangerous'

However, this was a trap as when he moved a shadow caught him by the foot preventing him from moving.

Raven began to float as more energy came out of her body. Her red eyes glowing with power looked at him with indescribable hatred. Kobra began to feel fear as he looked at them. He felt as he did when he was in the presence of his master, NO, at this moment he felt that her emit more power, which sent chills down his spine. However, he began to feel more fear when the girl's voice sounded downright demonic.

"YOU WERE THE CAUSE OF ME, BEING LEFT ALONE. YOU AND YOUR MASTER ARE THE CAUSE OF MY PAIN AND MISFORTUNE. FOR THAT ALONE YOU DESERVE DEATH"

The shadow began to lift him up and bring him closer to where Raven was floating. In this shadow began to seep this blackish power that when it touched Kobra's skin, it fell off as a sign of putrefaction. This power was pure power of destruction.

"Please. Please, I beg you. Have mercy" Kobra had already shit his pants from fear. The energy he felt was unimaginable. A bestial power of pure darkness. He didn't want to die. Not like this. However, Raven didn't hear him and just uttered.

"DIE"

Raven's hand touched Kobra's forehead. And the latter, unable to beg or anything, disintegrated as if he had never been there. Not even bones were left in the place.

However, this was not the end, as Raven had now surrendered to her power. More and more energy was being released which caused the room and its surroundings to begin to disintegrate with the power emitted. At this rate, her power would consume her.

However, before the power consumed her, a voice came into her head just at that moment, which made her wake up completely. It was Edgar's voice.

"Raven, you are no longer alone. Trust in your power. Trust in you. I will never leave you alone again"

'He's right. Ed promised me he would never leave me alone. He can handle this and more' She no longer doubted Edgar's capabilities. She was no longer afraid. The blackish power began to diminish and the blood red eyes returned to their purple hue. Raven gradually stopped floating.

When she finally stopped emitting power and wanted to walk to meet Edgar, a pain in her body stopped her completely.

"AGHHHHHHH" Raven let out a grunt of pain. The poison was already spread in her body. However, this did not stop her. She felt that the fight was over. And that the familiar energy signature prevailed, which made her smile.

Edgar had won. She, despite being poisoned and in pain, went to meet him.

-----------

Edgar lay there, inert. Without the fire in his head. Smoke was coming out of his body due to all the power exerted. Suddenly, he raised his head and....

"SHUUUUUUU" light brown flames materialized.

Sabbac, who sensed the sudden change no longer attacked recklessly. He could feel that this fire was different. It was special. More dangerous than even his blue fire.

At this moment, Edgar was using his demonic energy to boost what little angelic energy he had left, giving way to a combined phase.

What Edgar didn't know was that this was the first step he needed to break through his limitations and become something more. Something more dangerous. Something more powerful. A new phase that would catapult him to Trigon's level.

At this moment, following his instinct, Edgar had begun his transformation to the divine phase.

The divine transformation is a combined phase that was achieved if both phases were perfectly combined. In the divine phase, not only could the powers of both phases be used in combination, but the fire became extremely dangerous to the point where any being, be it demonic, human, or god, could succumb to it.

In short, Edgar who is already considered a universal level threat, could break that limitation and become a multiversal level threat like Trigon, Darkseid and other beings of great power that threatened in the shadows.

However, something must be clarified. Although Edgar had opened the door to enter the divine phase, at this point, he had not reached the ultimate divine phase, far from it, as he was not combining his power equally.

On the contrary. At this moment, he only had at most 10% power remaining from the angelic phase. And he was powering the other 90% with his demonic phase. That's why, in reality, the color was light brown, as there was more demon phase power in this transformation. However, this would be enough to fight Sabbac.

Sabbac finally lost his patience and moved at a speed that was not visible to the naked eye. In less than a blink of an eye he arrived right in front and threw a powerful punch. This punch charged a force to the point where, if it connected, it could even form a couple of cracks in Edgar's nearly indestructible skull. But, just before the punch could connect, Edgar moved.

With a move that could only be described as 'simple', Edgar dodged the punch at the last moment. This caused Sabbac to be surprised, but with the momentum, he continued to attack.

He quickly positioned himself and adjusted his other arm, throwing another punch just as fast and just as powerful at Edgar's humanity. But, again, just before the punch connected, Edgar dodged it with another simple move.

'What the fuck' thought Sabbac.

At full speed, Sabbac launched a barrage of blows at Edgar's humanity, but, although the speed was thunderous, Edgar dodged them without any difficulty, generating a beautiful dance as he dodged with simple moves.

Had Edgar become as fast as Sabbac? the answer is a resounding NO!

He knew that Sabbac, in his berserker mode, was faster than him, so he opted for another strategy.

Edgar at this moment was using all his enhanced senses to the maximum to predict his opponent's move. This could only be done with total concentration... or with pure fighting instinct, as Edgar was doing.

Whenever Edgar sensed that Sabbac would attack, he would predict by the position of his foot and the posture of his body, at what angle he would attack, which gave him an advantage when it came to dodging. However, this strategy had its weaknesses. If Sabbac started to become more erratic and fast, the prediction could fail. And just that happened.

Sabbac was desperate. He did not understand how this Rider was dodging his quick and powerful blows. So he could only do what his mind in fight mode could tell him. 'Be faster'

And so he did. Again he began to exert more power in his body. Which made his speed and thunderous power become more crushing. Edgar, though dodging the blows effortlessly, was beginning to encourage himself, and each time the blows came closer and closer to him.

However, this did not make him despair, for, just at that moment, Lagertha's voice rang in his head with one of the lessons she taught him.

"Edgar, when you fight opponents physically better than you, don't despair. Look for their weak points and attack them. Even the biggest and most imposing guy has them"

Quickly, Edgar teleported behind Sabbac. Sabbac reacted and turned around, but this was actually a feint, as Edgar came back to the front and threw a powerful punch. The point attacked was precisely an area he thought was most vulnerable. Just below the armpits.

That Edgar was less strong than Sabbac, did not mean that Edgar was weak by any means, as the force he carried in that punch generated a small shockwave when it impacted. There, Edgar could discover that Lagertha's theory, and therefore his, were true, since Sabbac let out a slight grunt of pain when Edgar hit.

Although Sabbac had reinforced his body with his power, to the point where it could be seen as 'indestructible', in reality, in order not to waste unnecessary energy, it put more power in some more attackable points and left some difficult to attack points quite unprotected, like that far away point that Edgar attacked.

Edgar did not stay still, and started teleporting on all sides of Sabbac, throwing strong punches to soft spots. The ribs, under the armpits, in the neck. Gradually, Sabbac's body was starting to go numb because of this. This only brought him despair, as Edgar's movements were quite unpredictable. Sometimes he was on the right, sometimes on the left. Sometimes he would attack head on, other times he would feint from behind.

The final straw was when Edgar, taking one of the many pieces of wood that were scattered around, generated a fire and transformed it into a sharp stake. Before he could do anything, Ezio's voice rang in his head.

"Edgar, we can use ANYTHING as a weapon. You have to learn how to use it to get the most out of it. Oh, and as a tip, don't leave the sides unprotected"

Edgar attacked just below the right armpit, and used all his strength to drive the stake right into that side. This paid off, as Sabbac's body began to generate a small river of blackish blood because of this.

Sabbac lost his mind after that. He just wanted to destroy this damn annoying Rider. He thought he was the weakest he had met to date, but in reality, at this moment, he was the most annoying in his eyes, and the one who had caused him the most pain in a long, long time.

Sabbac struck his foot hard. Which caused a small tremor to be generated in the area that disconcerted Edgar. That small amount of time was enough for Sabbac to move. He quickly grabbed it with his large hands, and pinned it in place. However, Edgar, who knew he was already compromised, did something before he was pinned.

Sabbac, was about to attack, and beat Edgar to death, but was unable to do so, as, at that moment, a small portal materialized just at the height of his head. From that portal a projectile came out at full speed right to the area of Sabbac's eye.

This was Edgar's last resort. He knew that this hesitation move had taken him by surprise, and made him vulnerable, so, out of pure instinct, he did what Carter had taught him. Cowboy Rider's voice rang in his head.

"When you open a portal, the important thing is to follow your instinct and trust your power. You'll find that your power does most of the work"

Edgar had opened a portal and launched the projectile with thunderous power. He then opened the portal at the point of attack at the moment and Sabbac's most vulnerable area.

Sabbac, who was surprised by this, could only barely dodge, shaking his head. But the stake, which carried a speed faster than the speed of sound, was already quite close to him, and grazed his eyelid, another vulnerable area. More blood began to ooze from the wound. Sabbac at this point was a bloody mess.

Edgar, who was already restrained by Sabbac, took advantage and with momentum used one of his favorite attacks. With his two skeleton hands he struck precisely the area of Sabbac's ears, disorienting him. This made Sabbac let go.

However, Edgar did not move, on the contrary, he took advantage of the fact that he was already there, and, holding him tightly with his arms he pointed him to his empty sockets.

"LOOK AT ME" he said

Sabbac felt a sharp pain. It wasn't as powerful as the one he had felt before, but it wasn't weak by any means. What was worse was that he was going over in his head the image of every sin, every wrongdoing, every failure in his life. That's right, at this moment, Edgar was combining the two stares, making Sabbac's martyrdom more unbearable.

"AGGHHHHHHHHHH" Sabbac could only scream at this. However, his martyrdom was worse when Edgar, taking his mouth began to provoke a fire just inside his body. The outside was fairly well protected, but the inside was vulnerable. His tongue, his throat, his esophagus were beginning to burn severely with Edgar's fire. Already at this point, even Sabbac's scream was beginning to choke because the vocal cords were being destroyed.

At this rate... Sabbac would die.

In sheer desperation he could only do what came into his head. With the remaining power he had, he stomped hard and cracked the ground. This was done with all the strength he had, which caused the ground to split in two. Edgar refused to let go of Sabbac, but Sabbac, taking advantage of the cracked earth, began to desperately hit Edgar. Which sent him flying far away.

Finally he ran at full speed to the portal. He no longer cared about carrying Raven. He only cared about his life.

Arriving at the portal, he turned one last time, and could feel that the life force of his forces was practically non-existent. This only indicated one thing... they were dead.

'Next time it'll be different, damn Rider. Next time, I'll be sure to kill you-' however, he couldn't think any further when a small portal materialized right in front of his head. This took him more by surprise than the first time and this time he couldn't dodge. A fiery stake dug right into his eye.

"AGHHHHHHH" he could only shriek in pain as he crossed the portal. As he crossed it closed.

Edgar arrived on the scene just then through a portal.

'Shit' was all he could think, as he had been too slow and had let it escape. But it had left him with one last memory.

----------------

In Sabbac's lair, Sabbac himself lay there wounded. Quickly magicians approached him and began to chant in Latin, healing him. Quickly the blood flowing from his side, and from his eyelid had stopped. However, the stake was still stuck in his eye.

"Sir, we need to remove the-"wanted to ask one, but Sabbac, shouting at him interrupted him.

"LET GO!"

Sabbac simply with one motion removed the stake stuck in his eye, his eye was practically non-existent as it had melted due to Edgar's fire. Blood was the only thing coming out of the empty socket. But that didn't matter to him. He could only think one thought.

'I WILL KILL YOU, I WILL KILL YOU, I WILL KILL YOU' a single murderous thought towards that Rider, who had not only defeated him. HAD HUMILIATED HIM.

"You, bring me a potion from my room. The red one. And you, bring me another body. This one is useless"

"Yes, sir"

Sabbac transformed back into his human body. There it could be seen that the young man seen before was no longer present. At this moment, he was more bone than skin as he looked like a walking mummy. This was the consequence of using too much power with his human body. This one couldn't take it.

But it didn't matter. There were plenty of people willing to give him his body.

He would come back. He would become stronger. More dangerous. When they fought again. It would be different.

'Wait for me, Rider. Next time I'll be ready'

"Where's my damn potion?"

-------------

'Shit' was all Edgar could think, as he had been too slow and had let him get away. But that said, he had left him one last souvenir with that stake of fire.

As he flew away, he knew Sabbac would run away, fleeing. With his speed, Edgar was unable to reach him even with his portals and it was too far to use his teleportation. So he acted on instinct and decided to send him a final attack.

At that moment, the brown fire began to fade, and slowly that brown returned to an orange. Denoting that the little angelic energy had been completely exhausted. Moctezuma's voice rang in his head, with one of the lessons.

"Angelic power, though different in nature from demonic power, is actually quite similar. For it starts from a joint power, Edgar. When you feel that angelic power you will realize, that, in reality, it all starts from one base. Which will make you use it as a second nature to you"

'Thank you Moctezuma. Thank you all' was the only thing he thought of all the lessons given. He had won for all of them.

This lesson was the basis for combining the two powers. Moctezuma was right. Although they are different in nature, they start from the same thing. In that fight he felt powerful. He felt dominant. He felt unstoppable. The only bad thing was that he could not kill Sabbac. That was his only regret.

However, he could no longer lament when he felt the earth rumble. The cracked sky was starting to generate more cracks. Edgar felt that the energy of this place was diminishing at an alarming rate. In a little less than two hours, this dimension would collapse. Raven and he had to get out of there.

'RAVEN!' he finally remembered the reason for this fight. He quickly ran to meet her, but, he didn't have to move much, as the girl was just coming to meet him. The problem was that she didn't look well. Edgar felt that the girl's vital out was quite low.

"Ed, I feel sick" Raven said in a dry but pained tone. Her pale skin, was starting to become paler and sickly, even going so far as to show green lines through her veins. This only indicated that there was poison in his bloodstream. Finally, she could take no more and collapsed. Edgar was able to catch her before she fell to the floor.

"Raven, wake up, come on, Raven" Edgar could feel the girl's heartbeat slowing to an alarming rate. Edgar didn't know what to do. His angelic fire had minor healing properties, but they were for more physical ailments. Besides he had no energy left.

He could only think of doing what he did to Diana long ago when she was poisoned. At that time, Edgar opened a wound and with an almost surgical move, burned the poison out of her bloodstream. The problem was that Diana was more stable than Raven. And she had a stronger immune system due to her demigoddess character.

Although Raven was Trigon's daughter, physically she was not special. Her body, strength, stamina and so on, were quite normal for a human. Maybe a little better, due to Edgar's extensive training, but already. Her immune system was average.

He knew that using his fire was useless in this case. Simply put, the poison was already to the point where it was causing Raven's heart and organs to fail. Edgar began to despair.

'The Order, they can help. They must. They are the only ones'

All he could think about was them. They had good healers. And they hoped that with their help they would be able to manage to save this girl. However, when I was about to generate the portal to get out of here. A golden portal materialized right in the center of the place.

Edgar became cautious because of this. And he shielded Raven with his body.

A man dressed in blue and gold attire floated out of the portal. He wore a golden helmet, which completely blocked his eyes and facial features.

Doctor Fate had arrived on the scene, but Edgar, who did not know who he was, only transformed into his demonic phase and stood on guard. Fate seeing this, only raised his hands in surrender.

"Greetings, I come not in threat, Edgar. My name is Nabu, but you have surely heard of me by my superhero name, Doctor Fate. I came to get you out of here, as I am the one responsible for you getting here in the first place"

Edgar had heard of this superhero. Of the most powerful. however, now that he felt his power, he could feel that the assessment of 'powerful' was an understatement. This man had a pool of magical power of order character. The latter only made him more wary, for, if true what he said, he was indeed powerful enough to open a portal to this place and forcibly interrupt.

And this was true. It had to be said, Sabbac had used an elaborate ritual, killing dozens of people to get into this place. And Doctor Fate, he had done it without all this, with just his magic power. That indicated one thing. This man was powerful, and therefore dangerous.

"I know you have doubts, Edgar. I will explain everything, I promise. But, right now, I'm your only chance to save that little girl. So... what do you say?"

Edgar turned to look at Raven whose condition was deteriorating. He no longer hesitated. He let go of his transformation, and let Fate approach. However, a hand left her skeletonized that justly pointed at Fate.

"If you do anything, that will harm this girl. Hell itself won't be able to stop the revenge I will have on you, Nabu"

"I understand" Nabu was not troubled by these words. For he knew he was speaking in the heat of the moment. Though mind you, he was sure the threat was not unfounded. He knew Edgar was capable of making good on such a threat.

"Okay, before I see what he's got, I have to do something about her condition"

Fate made a few signs with his hands which materialized a magic circle. A small golden clock formed on top of Raven's body. This clock began to spin crazily, but on the opposite side from what it naturally did. Taking several turns, it stopped. And when that happened, Raven's greenish skin began to improve at a remarkable speed.

'Time magic' thought Edgar. He could feel it as the poison coursing through her veins began to recede contrary to its nature. Here it dawned on Edgar. He had been wrong with his assessment.

Now that he could feel his power well when he used it, Edgar realized that this man didn't have a pool, he HAD A DAMN SEA of power.

This man would have defeated Sabbac, and even, from the time power he had shown, he believed even easier than him.

(AN: if you think it's far-fetched, actually, there are many forums and such that list Doctor Fate, a lord of order, as a Doctor Strange, but boosted by 5. If this is true, everyone will have their own opinion. Actually, if you ask me, Doctor Fate and Wonder Woman would be the two most complicated to fight for Ghost Rider)

In the end, curiosity got the better of him and he asked.

"What did you do to her?"

"Rewind her propagation time" then he materialized a golden energy from his hands and began to pass said energy all over Raven's body "I see. The poison used is snake venom. It wouldn't be special, far from it, but I think Sabbac boosted this power and that's why it spread so fast and was so potent. I think a treatment and some positions will help a lot, but we need to get her to my house"

Edgar nodded. If this man had bad intentions he would have attacked them by now. Fate waved them through the portal. Edgar carried Raven in his arms and crossed the golden portal.

When he arrived he could not believe what his senses were telling him. A house, totally magical was the only thing that could be described.

The stairs were turned upside down, the teapots moved by themselves. There were rooms in the ceiling... it was magical chaos. He didn't care about this though, for he was only concerned about Raven.

Fate did not remain idle and arrived at the place. With his power he summoned a bed.

"Lay her down there... Inza, bring me the potions I prepared"

An older woman, with brown skin and gray-gray hair, but who, despite her age, could be seen to have been a beauty in her time, ran to meet Fate, while carrying a green potion. She quickly gave it to Raven to drink.

"Truth time, friend" Fate materialized the clock again, and it ran several times which turned the time of Raven's body back to the present. The poison began to run her veins, but just as it was about to attack her heart, it stopped and began to fight back with the potion. In the end, the potion won and eliminated the residue of the poison.

"Sigh" a small sigh came from Raven. Her countenance was beginning to improve noticeably. And her breathing was starting to become quiet, a sign of tiredness. Another sigh came out of Edgar's mouth when this happened. He hadn't realized that he too had held his breath.

However, he did not remain idle and quickly transformed his hand into a skeletal one with orange fire.

"Now, speak, and explain why you took me to Azarath"

However, Fate was unfazed by this. Rather, he did something contrary to Edgar's expectations. He removed his helmet, revealing an older, friendly-looking old man, like a good grandfather.

"Don't worry, Edgar. I'll explain everything. But first, I think you have a more important matter to attend to, my friend," said Kent Nelson, the man under Nabu's helmet. Edgar was surprised by the words and was about to ask what he meant, but a voice, one he had not heard in a long time, but one he would never forget as it permeated his heart, interrupted him.

"Edgar?"

!!!!!!

Edgar turned around. There she was, behind him, the person for whom he felt a deep and true love. Diana stood there with little tears of joy and a big smile.

No more was said. They both ran to meet him. With a strong hug and deep kiss, they conveyed all the words they wanted to say to each other. Kent and Inza just smiled at the sight. Inza said to her husband.

"Let's go, let's leave them alone"

Kent just nodded, but before leaving, he thought.

'Ah, young love'. Thinking this he used his power to carry Raven's bed to a private room, leaving the two lovebirds alone.

"How is it possible for you to be here?" Edgar asked in disbelief. This had been a total surprise, albeit a pleasant one to a greater extent.

"It was Kent, or well, Doctor Fate. He saved me from being caught in a trap. I know you have doubts, but all will be explained later. The situation is not as simple as we thought... but for the moment, let's stay that way"

Edgar just nodded as they continued to embrace. This was right. This was how life was supposed to be. However, Diana interrupted his moment, telling him something that surprised him.

"Oh, by the way, Duke is here"

"Duke?"

"WOF!" (BOSS!)

A projectile shot out to intercept Edgar. Quickly Duke began to lick Edgar's face completely. Diana was only amused at the sight.

"Ah, let go of me you stinking dog!"

"Wof" (I refuse)

The future was uncertain. Evils lurked in the shadows. But right now, for Edgar and Diana, only the present mattered.

Together....
