164 Chapter 164: Ancient Cosmic War
Earth possesses a massive affiliated space, a divine realm thousands of times larger than the solar system. It is a space created by humanity's long-standing worship and belief in gods, complemented by the spiritual particles that exist without a fixed abode, empowered by the divine forces.
Originally not on Earth, they moved here after discovering that Earth was the center of the universe.
This divine space continues to grow incessantly. As long as Earth remains intact and the universe avoids chaos, this divine space will persist and expand. This is what humans refer to as heaven.
Initially, this divine space was inhabited by over a dozen divine forces, including Asgard, Olympus, the Celtic Pantheon, the Mayan gods, Chinese gods, Oceania, Mesopotamia, Egyptian gods, and the Bible's Hebrew gods.
They engaged in a ceaseless, enduring battle between the universe and the divine realm for faith, conquest against opponents, and waged wars until they unintentionally spread faith onto the Kryptonians. This infuriated the Kryptonians, with the Kryptonian Emperor raging, "The planets conquered by Krypton have never spread faith; they should be chanting the name of the Kryptonian god Rao. Instead, these colonists are chanting the names of Odin, Zeus, Allah, Yahweh, El Elyon and other gods."
This was akin to laboriously obtaining a villa through 30 years of work, only to have leased it out for a hundred years without receiving any rent. Though the house was owned, one couldn't inhabit it or receive rent and would never enter it until death, an utterly frustrating situation.
When they discovered many planets faced similar conditions, the Kryptonians were incensed to the point of exploding with rage.
Furious, the Kryptonians took direct action. They manipulated the sun, dragging thousands of life-inhabited planets they had cultivated as followers and directly detonated stars in their vicinity, creating black hole passages that ejected them.
Thus, in the ancient cosmos, the Kryptonians initiated a frantic war against the entire universe.
The arrogant and disdainful gods were the first to be violently toppled from their pedestals, a gruesome sight.
The Seven Lantern Corps, claiming justice and aiming to maintain universal order, joined in an attempt to broker peace amid the brutal beatings of the gods. However, they were decimated, leaving only the Green Lantern Corps.
The ancient cosmic war involved too many, including even the planet-devouring and developing Darkseid of Apokolips, who narrowly escaped death several times, fleeing through the cosmos on numerous occasions, with Apokolips being destroyed twice before Darkseid's repairs managed to save it.
As for Darkseid's eternal rival, New Genesis, it was initially annihilated by the star cannon. The Source collected the fragments of New Genesis, hiding and repairing them somewhere in the universe, yet to reappear.
As the war intensified, Darkseid reached his adolescence, attracting numerous divine forces and all the powers of the universe to unite against Krypton.
The Kryptonian side started noticing that things were not going as expected. They began to think, "How did this turn into me fighting the entire universe? I'm really that awesome, huh?"
Consequently, the Kryptonians became even more rampant and disrespectful. Their prestige spread across every corner of the universe. They even initiated a hunting game against the gods, becoming invincible during that ancient cosmic era for a considerable time.

However, as Darkseid grew into his adolescence, his strength became immense and his powers terrifying. Every time, Darkseid could single-handedly invade headquarters, attack key planets, infiltrate as if no one were guarding, causing destruction and annihilation. Faced with Darkseid's might, even Krypton felt the pressure, unable to cope with the assaults across the universe.
Finally, Krypton created the ultimate weapon, "Doomsday," intending to destroy the opposing forces, rule the universe, and end the war.
Darkseid faced off against Doomsday, enduring brutal beatings for over a millennium.
Witnessing this, many cosmic forces were alarmed. Darkseid was already terrifying, yet he was being subdued. If there were more Doomsdays, what hope was there?
All cosmic powers and gods launched a full-scale assault, intensifying their attacks furiously. They were determined not to allow Krypton to produce more Doomsdays, such a terrifying ultimate weapon.
Even in confronting Doomsday, even if Darkseid acted as a shield, all the cosmic powers and divine forces in the universe struggled against it, spending over a million years to eventually seal Doomsday within a blood-soaked seal.
After the end of the ancient cosmic war, numerous cosmic gods and forces fell into a prolonged silence.
The damage from this war was too severe, and no one was willing to incite another conflict. Even Darkseid, after being beaten by Doomsday, had to retreat to Apokolips for convalescence, unable to pursue any further conquests.
It was then that Zeus, the king of Olympus, proposed the "Deicide Plan." He rallied the Green Lantern Corps, intending to eradicate all the gods entirely, ending the wars among the gods and consolidating all authority under one pantheon.
Only by uniting all authority under one pantheon could there be an end to cosmic wars waged for faith and authority among the gods.
After all, strictly speaking, this ancient cosmic war was instigated by numerous gods recklessly spreading faith, casting it upon Kryptonian territory, igniting the conflict.
Kryptonians were oblivious to their own might. When the fight ensued, despite the gods' divine power and magic causing harm, Kryptonian warships were no pushovers.
They didn't realize their own prowess until the battle commenced. It turns out, there are so many weaklings in the universe.
As they fought, Kryptonians discovered their incredible power. They realized that all their warfare talents, soldiers' and generals' genetic potentials, amounted to the highest military genius in the universe.
With such incredible innate talents, not conquering the universe would be a waste. They should have started conquering the universe long ago. That's when the Green Lantern Corps intervened...

It's really no wonder the Green Lantern Corps agreed. The Guardians of the Universe within the Green Lantern Corps had long noticed that this cosmic war was inadvertently triggered by the gods. They knew that after their slumber, for the sake of authority, the gods would instigate wars once again.
As for the repercussions of being mediators and how much resentment existed from the Seven to the Green Lantern Corps due to the cosmic events, that's hard to ascertain.
To safeguard the future of the universe, the Green Lantern Corps and the Olympus Pantheon formed an alliance and initiated a plan to assassinate other pantheons.
One by one, the gods who had once collaborated seamlessly on the ancient cosmic battlefield to resist Krypton were assassinated by Zeus, the king of the Olympus Pantheon, along with the gods and the Green Lantern Corps.
With each successful assassination, power aggregated and even if other gods realized they were being targeted, it was futile. They couldn't prevent the rise of the Olympus Pantheon.
Eventually, the Olympus Pantheon made no pretense and directly attacked the dwellings of the other pantheons, thoroughly exterminating all gods daring to vie for authority and uniting all divine power under the Olympus Pantheon.
This Deicide Movement thus came to an end.
The universe finally experienced widespread peace since ancient times, until now, when Scar and Yak entered the Olympus Pantheon's realm.
