"W-What do you mean, mother must've risen too." Scarlet choked as she asked Charles.

And seeing her like that, he realized how stupid he was by asking her that question.

He died when Scarlet hadn't even been born, so why would she know about his secrets, her mother's secrets, their secrets?

Heck, she did not even know what he, her father looked like. He had no doubt that Scarlet was his daughter because she couldn't have been anyone else's daughter, it was just that impossible.

The only reason he said to Scarlet that he had no idea whether he was her father was that he did not want her to get entangled with him.

He was dead, even though he looked alive, talked, and walked as if alive, from inside he knew he was dead, his very essence yelled at him and told him that.

And once all of this would end, maybe he would go back to the place where he truly belonged, back to dead.
