Chapter 146

Everyone settled down again as we listened to Klent's report about the others who were working for Karciel. When Klent finished his report, I realized that there was a complicated web with regards to his businesses.

"For the guards, we locked them up in the dungeon where they used to keep the other trafficked people. We are still waiting for further instructions." Klent finished his report.

"Damn.." Athy cursed rather loudly, making everyone turn to look at her. Seeing the surprised look on the others faces, she sighed. "I curse. There's nothing to be surprised about it."

"Do you have any plans for the other people, Athy?" I asked her. She was in charge of internal affairs, including business so she must have some use for those people. It would also be bad if the people who worked for Karciel just lose their jobs and not get new ones. Those people must be uneducated ones and only know how to work as waiters or washers or cleaners but were not accepted by other employers for their lack of basic education.

"We could use waiters, washers, cooks and guards for the houses." Athy shrugged. "Cleaners, laundry and also runners. Since we are planning to expand to other places, we should hire people from our own territory and train them to lead others that would be hired elsewhere."

Miss Bloom nodded, a seductive smile hanging on her lips.

"We could use some people who has healing abilities too." She added. "We need people who can protect the houses but we would also need our employees to be able to protect themselves so we might need some trainers."

"I did not know whorehouses needed so many workers." Haktor commented coldly, making both Athy and Miss Bloom turn their heads towards him with challenging gazes. Haktor shut his mouth when he saw their looks. He knows he'd get in trouble if he said anything more.

"Then I will leave the business in your hands. If there are people you think that is not to your standards or you think are risks, inform Klent and he will take care of it." I glanced at Athy and Miss Bloom who both nodded.

"Now, for the items that were sent for auction, have anyone tried to claim them?" I asked to no one in particular.

"For these items, sis." Uriel spoke, as she was looking at the list of items that we have confiscated. "Should we take them for ourselves if nobody claimed them? We do have the list of owners."

"Unless they claim the items, answer our questions and pay the tax price, the items will be under our protection." I answered. "For the living items, if they wish to go back where they came from, we will escort them there. If they plan to stay, we can find jobs for them or maybe they could even work for us. Depends on their abilities."

"What if their owners would come to claim them?" Marionne asked, her expression still blank.

"If they wish to return with them, they can." I answered with a shrug. "But if the items are the trafficked ones, especially those from the other races, you are to decline, for we are sending them back to their clans or tribes if they want to."

"And what if the one claiming won't agree?" Haktor asked, obviously insinuating something.

I gave him a cold smile.

"You have my permission to do whatever you want, but you must not kill. Understood?" I answered, a gentle smile on my lips but my entire being was emitting a heavy killing intent.

Haktor's dark face bloomed into a vicious grin while Marionne's face was still expressionless. Klent's eyes shone with a wicked light but his face remained angelic.

"So sis.." Uriel spoke again. "Where are these living items? Is there really a mermaid among them? I saw a demon princess too. Is she really as beautiful as the rumors say?"

"They are currently with Seb, Klaus and Anderson in our training room." I answered her. "With so many different races mixed together, there's bound to be trouble. I sent those three to 'calm' the demons before meeting with them."

"Oh? It's not like you can't protect yourself." Uriel frowned. "I bet they will listen once they see Parsua too."

"I'm not so excited to fight those.." I don't know how to address the mixed races. People? Some of them were beasts and some are demons. Things sounded too cold. "Mixed races."

"I want to meet the mermaid." Uriel said with clear excitement.

"Me too." Athy nodded. "I really want to know if their tails are like fish's tail."

"It is, my lady." Miss Bloom answered her with a smile. "Thought their tails sometimes smell, they are pretty to look at."

"Oh? So If I open it, do they have fish bone or human leg bones?" Athy asked with an excited gleam in her eyes. Uriel also turned nodded her head.

"I.. Um.. I have never tried opening it, my lady." Miss Bloom stuttered.

Athy shot her a disappointed look. Haktor chuckled lightly and Klent let out a small smile.

Sometimes my sisters really don't realize how bizarre their questions are like.

"Athy, your question is weird." I said with a light shake of my head.

"Athy, you question is weird." Athy mimicked me sarcastically and even stuck her tongue at me.

I rolled my eyes at my sister's childish antics.

"I wonder if a mermaid's tail is edible." Uriel murmured.

We all look at her weirdly.

What the hell?!
