Chapter 79: An Offer

"Why play these kinds of games in the first place, Lars?" Alfia signed to him incredibly quickly.

"It's fun, Dionysus would most likely ask you to join whatever shit he's doing. And I want you to join." Lars had an eat-shitting grin on his face.

"Hah, you and your games. Why not just destroy them right now?" Alfia wanted to be efficient.

"You're as cold-blooded as ever. I want to learn what he wants, what he's planning, what he thinks will happen. Then make it all crash and burn when he thinks it's going to succeed." Lars' expression terrified her.

He was on demon time. Lars then shook his head a bit, his skill influenced him a bit.

"So, go get em tiger." Lars smiled and Alfia started to think about it.

She then had a twisted grin on her face too. "You know what? That sounds absolutely amusing."

"I'm just glad that Meteria-san would get cured by a holy branch from our trees. It warms my heart." Filvis held back a frown.

She was absolutely disgusted that the holy branches of the elves are an accessory to do evil.

But that was what Dionysus wanted. And he still accepted her, even though she's a filthy monster now.

"Thank you once again Filvis, you're a miracle." Lars smiled at her.

Gritting her teeth, Filvis felt complicated. 'Why is such a loving individual her lover? This would be so much easier if he wasn't here...' Filvis couldn't help but feel guilty.

She was already a monster. Yet here she was, plotting in making his lover into the destroyer of Orario.

"We are almost there, I am happy for you two." Filvis' face almost twitched.

Lars and Alfia were definitely a real couple. Alfia is known as a cold-blooded and calculating witch.

Yet her expressions were truly genuine. She is happy spending time with him.

And he's all over her personal space. She was worse than elves. She would beat you until you were half-dead if you tried touching her.

Everybody that was active when the Zeus and Hera familias were still the reigning groups knew that.

They arrived at the Dionysus familia home and were led to the guest room.

"Tea, anyone?" Filvis asked and they nodded with a smile.

"Don't drink anything, Demeter warned me. I'll decrease the amount in the cup with my skill." Lars warned Alfia.

He developed another neat trick with it. Combining his psychokinesis with his skill, he can put things inside or outside of it far away his person.

Alfia nodded and she wasn't dumb enough to drink anything from an enemy. Even though her abnormal resistance is the highest in the whole world.

No poison works on her, even those that could melt your face off.

Filvis served them some tea and they pretended to drink it.

"Lars-san, can I borrow Meteria-san for a second? I need to do a ritual before I can give her the branch for it to be at its maximum efficacy." Filvis made shit up.

"Meteria, follow Filvis to a tee okay? I want you to get better." Lars looked at her with a soft smile.

"Yes, I want to as well. So we can finally think of getting kids." Alfia replied while squeezing his hand.

Lars almost choked on his spit, but he resisted it with all his might.

'Kgh! Forgive me, Lars...' Filvis clenched her hand so tightly, it almost bled.

Filvis led Alfia towards another room. And while they were walking, she began the plan.

"So you go with Meteria now? Maiden of silence." Filvis commented and she was instantly planted on the wall by Alfia.

"How do you know that, elf? Speak before I turn your neck 360 degrees." Alfia squinted her eyes.

"I... I've been active since the reign of your familias! I saw you having a date with Lars!" Filvis quickly replied.

She didn't have her full strength right now. And the elf doubted that if even she did, she would still get butchered like a pig.

"Harm a hair on him and I'll crush you all like ant under a boot." Alfia warned her and Filvis who was coughing, nodded.

"My god wants to talk to you... The offer I gave to Lars isn't just a lie." Filvis explained and Alfia squinted her eyes.

"Just like Erebus' offer to me? I do not have need for it. As a level 7, my lifespan has increased for dozens, even hundreds of years.

I do not need it, I just want to enjoy my life with Lars." Alfia squinted her eyes.

"B-but you've said it. You cannot bare children with your condition." Filvis reminded her and Alfia glared daggers at her.

She could act pretty well if she needed to. As expected of a woman of many talents.

Alfia went silent and Filvis thought it was such a despicable thing to mention that to a woman.

But orders were orders. "I will hear Dionysus out. If I don't like what he says, I'll crush you all. The gods be damned." Alfia announced with finality and Filvis nodded.

She led her towards Dionysus' office and Alfia saw the god waiting for them, swirling a glass of wine.

"Oh my, the maiden of silence. I did not expect to meet you here." Dionysus chuckled.

"Speak your mind, your noise disgusts me. Or I will flatten this whole manor." Alfia snorted.

"Now, now, let's not be hasty. I have a little something for you after all." Dionysus took out a branch that was glowing with mana.

"What do you want?" Alfia squinted her eyes and Dionysus shrugged.

"It's pretty simple, you must know already. After all, you teamed up with evilus in the past." Dionysus smirked.

"What... Do... You want?" Alfia tapped her foot on the ground in impatience.

"Patience, patience. I want you, to do the same thing." He smiled at her and Alfia raised a brow.

"You want me to sacrifice myself? Did you not talk to your elf? Are you stupid perhaps?" Alfia rolled her eyes.

"You didn't let me finish yet. I want you, to destroy Babel and cause a monster surge." Dionysus licked his lips.

Thinking of the monsters in the dungeon escaping. Causing havoc on the world just like in the olden times.

Before the gods descended to the mortal world.

"You want me to destroy Babel? What about Lars?" Alfia looked like she was struggling to decide.

"Do not worry, just make him leave Orario before you destroy Babel. It's that easy, isn't it?" Dionysus smiled.

"Then what of the branches? If I destroy Babel, Orario will be overrun by monsters. I need the holy branches regularly." Alfia furrowed her brows.

"Filvis will continue to supply you the goods. How can we double cross such a powerful adventurer? You already know we can get it, just like 7 years ago." Dionysus smirked.

"Fine... But a hair on him gets harmed, you're free game." Alfia warned them and Filvis gulped at the pressure she was releasing.

Dionysus then tossed her a holy branch and Alfia checked it first.

"Tell me when, Babel is much easier to destroy than the Leviathan anyways." Alfia left and Dionysus began to laugh when they made their exit.

Filvis guided them out and when she returned, Dionysus was beaming.

"Did you see, Filvis? The monster of calamitous talent, much stronger now than she was 7 years ago. Due to what? Due to her love to that Lars." He licked his lips.

"I can already imagine the despair she would suffer when he dies. It will be the best orgia that I would ever witness! Kyahahaha!" Dionysus laughed like a maniac.

'Forgive me, Lars-san...' Filvis just stayed silent.

"What'd you got there for me?" Lars grinned at Alfia and she gave him the holy branch.

"Ooh, this one's fancy. I think Airmid would love this as an ingredient." Lars was excited about the effects it would have.

"When it was ground up as medicine, even my uncurable curse was lifted for a moment. It's quite amazing really." Alfia was impressed by the thing.

The Zeus and Hera familia tried everything. But they couldn't find anything to try and cure her or Meteria.

Holy branches from sacred elven trees helped, but they just staved off the disease. Needing constant doses of it like maintenance.

"Even so, this thing is still amazing. Your disease is definitely supernatural. So we might be able to do some rad stuff with this." Lars juggled it around.

"Thanks for the free goods, Dionysus. You fucking cocksucker. I want you to think that everything is going your way, for now." Lars laughed like a maniac.

"Did I told you that you'd fit in with evilus?" Alfia deadpanned at him.

"What? I'm part of the good guys. If you fuck these guys up, it's poetic justice." Lars rolled his eyes.

"I wonder how he'll react when he learns that we're both in it? That we're just getting everything we can from him till he's dry. And then, everything comes crashing down." A face splitting grin appeared on his face.

"It will definitely be amusing." Alfia smirked as well as they rubbed their hands, imagining it.

"They're being really scary right now." Tiona hid behind Tione.

"Airmid, can you calm them down? They have this really evil looking expression on their face." Tione winced.

It just didn't feel right to see them like that. "Yup, evil." Belnas said in Koine, starting to get proficient in it.

"Are they going to murder someone and take everything that's valuable for them?" Elnea raised a brow.

"Leave them alone, it will pass." Ray shrugged, already used to it.

"Yeah, Lars-chi and Alfia-chi can get like that sometimes." Lyd explained.

They then watched the two try to think of scenarios of how Dionysus would react to his plan going up in flames.

__Orario__

Bell was currently handing out resumes to familias left and right.

And he looked frantic in doing so, why wouldn't he? When he's in big trouble.

"Hah, stupid! Stupid! Why did I buy a map and a guide from adventurers?" Bell got duped.

He got scammed by adventurers. Telling him that they have a comprehensive map of the dungeon.

And that they have a life-saving guide about the monsters' behaviors and patterns.

"Ahhh! How would I know that the guild sold those for much cheaper!?" Bell pulled his hair in despair.

Checking his funds, he only has about 500 valis left. Enough for a dingy room.

"I can't believe it... I'll have to rely on Alfia and Lars so soon..." Bell teared up at the unfairness of it all.

"N-no... I need to send out all of my resumes to the familias." Bell shook his head as he psyched himself up.

He continued his efforts, deciding to wait until tomorrow for any news about his applications.

Retiring for the night, he slept hungry. As the room he paid for cost everything he had.

__Next day__

Bell drank some water to make his stomach full, waiting at the guild for any familia to take him in.

"I need to do something... I can't rely on them just yet, it's too embarrassing. They can't know I got scammed, when the two of them always told me to be careful of them." Bell got depressed.

Roaming around Orario, he remembered Lars' wisdom. He can always work part time, just look for busy stalls or shops.

So he looked for a shop that was being swarmed by customers. And it was a jagamarkun stand.

"Boss! Need a hand? I can work for you, I came from a farming village!" Bell started to pack the potato puffs in paper.

"Ohh! Then I'll just have to accept ya!" The owner began to fry them while Bell sold them as he asked their prices from the owner.

And with their teamwork, making the dream work. They started to outsell the rival jagamarkun stand at the other side of the busy street.

"Kuu! My sales will drop! I can't make bank and pay my debts at this rate... I have no choice, you forced me to do this." Hestia who was the goddess of all potatoey and fried squinted her eyes.

'Lars said that men are freaks... I guess I'll have to try drastic measures.' Hestia was wearing flip flops, so she sat down in front of the stand and showed her feet.

"Ooh! A goddess' feet!" The adventurers that were around the place flocked to Hestia's stall.

"Heh, how about that?" She grinned at Bell who was shocked at the turn of events.

A burning rivalry then formed as the two of them stared at each other.
