Part 25

Well, everything seems to be getting better... Because I had already started posting on another site and... I liked the text editor there a few times better.

But I think that's okay, and I'll keep posting here.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When I opened the door in front of me with practically a kick, I saw a typical Hope Peak classroom. It didn't take me long to figure out who I was here for with a quick glance.

"Good morning, Sensei." - I said hello to one of the academy professors.

"Good morning Yasuke." - he said lazily, which was the norm for him. "I certainly understand that it's normal for you and the principal to stay up at night, but can you please light up at least in the morning next time, because we had a meeting at four in the morning and were forced to get here a little early."

"Ahaha." - I let out a light chuckle. "Sorry sensei. But you know, an epiphany is like that."

"Haaaa." - sighed the Ultimate Artist, who knows more about inspiration than anyone. "Okay, no big deal. I take it you're after the new girl?"

"Uh-huh." - I confirmed, to which I received a slight wave of the hand that I could move.

Walking inside the classroom under the interested stares of the students, who I thought were almost full, not counting a few students, I stopped in front of one of the desks.

A girl of short stature, dressed in the usual school uniform, which was dominated by the color black, and had a dark red bow at the level of the chest, was looking at me. She had gray hair that was practically half curled at the end, her light lilac eyes staring at me fearfully. I think the most significant item of her clothing was a dark purple respirator mask.

"Seiko Kimura?" - I said calmly, looking at her.

"I y-yes Seiko." - she said too shyly, and at the same time lowered her eyes to her desk.

"Let's go outside. I need to talk to you." - I said maybe a little harshly.

"Y-yes." - she said and awkwardly jumped up from her desk.

"Wait!!!" - No sooner had we taken a few steps than we were stopped.

When I turned around, I saw a girl who had jumped up from her seat next to where Seiko was sitting and was looking at me with feigned fury. She was dressed in the same clothes as Seiko, but the bows were tied differently. She too was short, and her eyes were lilac-colored and her hair was a short strawberry blonde.

It's also worth noting that at the same time the guy who was sitting next to her stood up. He was a tall guy who wore a red cape with the same color fingerless gloves, baggy black pants and black boots. He looked like... like Bakugo from Boku no Hero Academia, but you could tell from his face that he was a "silent type" of person.

And they, the three of them, are older than me anyway, thankfully at least taller than the girls, but at least starting next year I won't be the youngest in school.

"What?" - I answered with a touch of anger, since for the first time I didn't want to be distracted.

"You're not confused about anything at all Seiko!" - she ignored me and turned to the girl. "Just some guy came in and asked to go with you. He didn't even introduce himself!"

"Yasuke Matsuda. 3rd year of high school. So, I'll ask that one to treat me like a sempai." - She was starting to piss me off a bit. I thought it was impossible. "Are you done?"

"You expect me to believe you?" - she said after thinking for a while.

"It didn't bother you that I was practically on a first-name basis with your teacher and that he knows me and still hasn't said a word against me? Or do you think he's a lefty guy, too?" - I replied to this strange girl.

"Mmm." - she mumbled to herself.

"And you jumped in here and didn't even introduce yourself, so I'd shut up if I were you." - I put her in her place.

As I did so, I noticed that Seiko shrank a little because of my words, and Bakugo reached into his cloak for some reason.

"..." - she stared at me with "cute" feigned fury. "You're right." - she acknowledged my words.

"I know." - I interrupted her before she wanted to say something.

"I'm Ruruka Ando." - she continued and introduced herself. "I am a first-year high school student, and I am also an Ultimate Confectioner."

"Hmm." - I hummed, accepting her forgiveness.

"So let me treat you to some candy as a token of my forgiveness." - She said and pulled a bag of candy from somewhere in her backpack.

"Okay." - I didn't refuse the gift and took it to myself and immediately wanted to turn around to continue walking, but...

"Stop!!!" - again I turned to the girl.

"What is it?" - I said again with signs of irritation.

"Can you please taste them now and tell me what they taste like? Please!!!" - She said sweetly and at the same time patted her eyes.

"Okay." - I didn't say no so I could get this over with sooner rather than because I wanted to try this candy.

I took out the blue candy that I liked the best in my mouth and started chewing it, and then I swallowed it.

"Well?" - she said with a sly smile.

"Not bad." - I answered calmly.

"That's it?" - she said with shock.

"Well, yeah." - I said and wanted to add fuel to the fire since she's still pissing me off. "------ makes sweets taste better and yet they don't taste so cloying. So, you have a lot to look forward to."

"Wh- WHAT!" - she shouted. "That ------ is an Ultimate Confectioner, too."

"No, she is {}." - I said while looking at her face, which had changed because of her rage.

"But... but... but..." - she didn't know what else to say.

"If that's all, Seiko and I will go." - I said, looking at the girl.

"Y-yes." - she said, and as if to confirm, she nodded to herself.

"Wait." - again she made me stand still.

"Well, what do you want again?" - I replied sharply. "Some people here kind of have things to do."

"You can try this chocolate bar then." - She said and pulled out a piece of chocolate in a yellow wrapper from her backpack.

"Go ahead." - I said, taking the chocolate from her hands. "But this is the last time."

"Yes, yes, of course." - With a happy smile on her face, she said.

I put the chocolate in my mouth and chewed it, and I must say it was much tastier than the candy. So I swallowed it with pleasure, but then a notice popped up right in front of my face.

[Warning!!!]

[Rejected mental attack.]

[Brainwashing Chocolate.]

[Description: completely brainwashes the victim. The person who ate the chocolate will follow instructions without question.]

"What's up with you?" - she said with anticipation of something. "Good?"

"Yep." - I said and showed the most retarded smile on my face. "Very."

*Slap*

Before anyone knew it, my palm was down on her cheek. I wanted to give her a full force slap, of course, but I'm afraid I would have killed her, so all I had to do was give her a healthful slap on the cheek. So, she flew sideways and hit a chair, and then fell to the floor with it, taking the desk with her.

I could have sworn I saw a few of her teeth fly off somewhere.

Before I could look at that consequence of her actions any further, the guy in the cape began to act and with rage on his face and a desire to kill in his eyes began to climb into his cape for some reason. Not waiting for what he wanted to do I almost instantly joined him to take his right hand, which reached for the cloak.

Not expecting him to do anything, I missed his left hand, which tried to punch me in the jaw and... it was successful. I was confused and didn't know what to do. But even though his punch was superior to what normal people can show, it also felt, the metal in his glove, and you could see the muscles under his clothes. His punch did nothing for me.

[- 1359 HP]

Without waiting for him to do anything further, I took his face in my free hand and with practically all my strength just introduced his face to the nearest desk. Which, however, withstood my blow, but it showed a few cracks after this guy fell unconscious to the floor with suspicious metallic noises, and a kunai fell out of his right hand.

"The next time I see you feeding someone at this school with your candy, you will be sent from this school on your hands, as your feet will be sewn in place of your hands." - I said, looking at her face, which began to show fear. "You don't think I can do it? No. That's the thing, I'm the only one who can do it."

As I looked around the class, I noticed their faces, which were filled with fear and disbelief, and I could see it in Seiko's face as well. The sensei's face, however, was completely indifferent to my actions, as if I hadn't done anything special.

Of course, I could have just walked away and ignored it. But for the sake of my dignity and reputation, I think I should justify myself.

"Do you think I didn't notice your drug-infused candy or am I just immune? But you know. I just wasn't paying attention, maybe it's just part of your Ultimate." - He said and was quiet for a while. "But the brainwashing chocolate... Do you think you're immortal? Or special? Don't get cocky, you don't stand out for anything here."

Walking out of the classroom and at the same time waving to Seiko to follow me I decided to look around at what was going on in the classroom. Sensei was looking extremely serious at this girl, and the rest of the class was looking at her not with disdain, but something nearby.

It was safe to say that my reputation was somewhat, but restored. I closed the classroom door with self-satisfaction. It was a pleasant feeling.

Walking in silence through the corridors of the academy with Seiko, I felt that I needed to justify myself to her a little, because she seemed to know this girl and maybe even before the academy.

"I'm not usually like this and I'm much calmer." - I said as we left the academy and headed toward the lab. "So, I'm sorry about the whole show."

"N-nothing s-scary." - Mumbled the girl. "I-I'm more surprised that Ruruka-chan could do that."

"I think I pissed her off a little." - I decided to explain her friend's behavior. "She doesn't seem to be used to someone not complimenting her candy, and she's also very obliged to someone not eating it. So, I just cornered her, which pissed her off, and she decided to get back at me somehow. I don't think she would have fed everyone that chocolate."

"Maybe." - Seiko said without stammering, showing that she'd gotten a little used to me.

"So, there you go. Because of this situation, we've completely forgotten our original purpose." - I said, stopping in front of the doors and then opening them. "Come in." - I said, letting the girl go forward.

*She looked at me in confusion.

"I seem to have misrepresented myself. My name is Yasuke Matsuda, and I'm an 'Ultimate High School Physician'!" - I said proudly. "And that, of course, imposes some responsibilities on me. I'm in charge of the only place in the school that has anything to do with medicine. And I think you already get the basic gist of what I wanted to offer you." - I paused to gain more atmosphere. "Seiko Kimura do you agree as an 'Ultimate Pharmacist' to join the Peak Hope Medical Chapter!"

"..." - she remained silent.

"Well of course ahem." - I hesitated. "There will be bonuses, too. All your projects will be sponsored, and you can ask anyone here for help. And of course, you'll have a lab with top-of-the-line equipment. What do you say?"

"I-I-I..." - she began to stammer again.

"You're not Seiko Kimura?" - I decided to make assumptions about what she wanted to say and try to make her relax a little.

"N-No! That's me! But..." - she hesitated again. "But do you really need me? After all, you don't really need me here..."

"Of course, I need you Seiko." - She looked at me with puppy dog eyes. "I'm not a god, I'm a human being. I can't be everywhere and I need help, and I won't give up friends I can trust."

"F-friends?" - she said as if she didn't believe my words, and a little blush showed on her skin that the mask didn't cover.

"Of course!" - I replied, and because of which an unconscious smile came out on my face, because of such simple joy I could give a girl. "For the sake of more interest, let me tell you that we have a major project coming up that will change the world."

"..." - she said quietly. "I-I agree!!!" - she shouted, and a happy smile appeared on her face...well I think so.

"Fine!" - I said happily. "Do you have any questions?"

"N-not a few." - she said confusedly and looked around. "H-how many people are here, because it's kind of empty."

"That makes sense. There's a class going on right now so most people aren't here." - I was referring to the trio. "Including you, there are three people in our department right now."

"T-three?" - she said with a sort of disbelief.

"There are three more who usually live here, but they're not part of our department so you can ignore them. But if you need help, you can go to them on any occasion." - I admonished her. "Any more questions?"

"About the super project. I'm just curious, n-nothing of the sort." - She asked curiously.

"Yes! About him." - I said enthusiastically. "I have things to do right now, so Miaya will explain it to you. That's another person, so she'll show you everything else. Let's go."

We walked to the auditorium while I was giving Seiko a mini tour. As we did so, I could see the fire burning in her eyes, whether it was happiness or desire to create, or maybe both. But when we came to the auditorium, I did not see Seiko and did not hear her actions anywhere, she was of course quiet all the time, but even she sometimes made sounds.

Determined to walk through the room to look for clues. I found the most important clue, namely the girl herself. She was sitting in front of her laptop with her head resting on her crossed arms, and she was sniffling a little and her body was rising in time with her breathing. Or in short, she fell asleep. Apparently, she really didn't sleep very well that night.

Covering her with the blanket I'd found in the break room I began to think about what to do with Seiko.

"Okay." - I said, deciding on a future plan and handing her the laptop in front of which Mia fell asleep, "Here's that super project for you. It's only a bare outline, of course, but the whole plan only came out yesterday. And when you're done, you can walk around and look around. Like I said, there's nobody here, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about."

"O-okay." - Seiko said, sitting down at the nearest table and looking at her laptop.

After I left the lab, I went to the park to the fountain. I had things to do, of course, but I think I need to get a handle on the whole situation that happened to me today.

I snapped. It really pissed me off. I admit it. But who doesn't get pissed off when they try to subdue their mind, unless of course you're a dumbass protagonist, which I don't think I am. Also, hitting this guy made a lot of things clear to me. I have no experience. Both in this life and in the past, the only thing I've done is punch air. I just didn't realize he could hit me or I just didn't expect him to.

And the only reason I was able to pull it all off was because of my body and also because this guy didn't expect me not to feel anything, after all he had metal plates in his gloves, well I guess it was influenced by my dexterity, which doesn't make me feel any better either. I was hoping to defeat Izuru with this, but it looks like I need to find myself a trainer for the experience, or else this guy will blow me away and not notice.

After sitting next to the fountain for about half an hour, I got up and went to Jin-san office. It was surprisingly easy. He still didn't ask anything and just looked at me with an encouraging smile. Also, the amount of funding wasn't too bad, especially considering the fact that I only have three people under my command and the academy takes care of all the expenses.

I got out of the headmaster's office fairly quickly, I spent about an hour there in total. The next destination was, of course, Tengan-san, where I would spend several times that amount of time anyway.

It was recess now so I had to pass through a bunch of students who occasionally glanced at me, but it wasn't as persistent as the first years when everyone didn't understand what a "kid" like me was doing here.

As I walked down the stairs to the bottom floor, I thought about how disgusting the layout was. I've said it more than once, of course, but why build the stairs to the next floor at the other end of the hallway. Who in his empty head would come up with such a stupid idea. But the good thing was that they weren't too hard to find, especially with so many years of experience, so I quickly saw the descent to the next floor. But before I could reach a few dozen feet...

"Yasuke!" - someone almost shouted my name to the entire floor.

Before I could turn around and realize who was shouting my name, my hands grabbed me and pulled me toward them, lowering my head a few centimeters and dropping my face into an all too familiar place.

"Juzo and Kyosuke told me everything! You're so young!" - Chisa shouted again, causing practically the entire hallway to stare at us.

"Yeah yeah." - I said, trying to break free of the pleasant grip. "All mussed up already, huh?"

"No. Just me. Even stepped aside to see if anyone was watching us. So, you don't have to worry." - Chisa said, and at the same time started stroking my hair again. "I'm proud of you Yasuke. You really are so good."

"Come on, it's no big deal." - I finally got out and scratched my cheek in embarrassment. I was sure I had a slight blush. "Without your support this would have been hard to achieve."

"No. You achieved it all on your own. We didn't help you with anything. You..." - she interrupted halfway through the word and pulled me to her collar to get a better look at my cheek. "What is it?"

"Dirt. I've been working in the lab all day and haven't slept, after all, so it's natural." - I said, putting my hand on the back of my head to show my disinterest in it.

"No, wait." - she said and pulled me even closer to her. "It's...blood. Yasuke! Where do you get blood from."

"I'm a doctor. So, it makes sense that I would have blood on me." - I said as I watched Chisa take a handkerchief to wipe my cheek. I should have looked in the mirror, because I didn't see any blood on me.

"Don't lie. You said yourself you've been working in the lab all night and I know you too well, you've never had blood on you." - She displayed her detective skills, or should I call it a woman's intuition. "Yasuke. Explain yourself!"

"Haa." - I sighed. "Didn't get along with one person today, so he hit me."

"What!!!? WHO HIM!?!! I'm going RIGHT NOW and TALKING TO HIM!!!! HOW DARE HE HIT YOU!?!? IF I DON'T LIKE HIM, AND I ALREADY DON'T LIKE HIM, I'LL KICK HIS ASS AND I'LL KICK HIS ASS WORSE THAN YOU. WHAT CLASS IS HE IN? ANSWER ME?!!!!!" - Chisa whirled, and all covered in imaginary fire of justice.

"I told you it's okay." - I tried to reassure her.

"NO! IT'S NOT OKAY. IT CAN'T BE LEFT LIKE THIS! WHO IS HE? LET ME TALK TO HIM!" - she got even more excited.

"Don't worry. With my noble help he got closer to the desk, and then to the floor." - I said my final trump card.

"Really?" - she said reassured by my words.

"Yes." - Please calm down.

"BUT I'M STILL GOING TO FIND OUT WHO IT IS AND TALK TO HIM." - she let out one last angry cry.

She stood still for a while and puffed something under her breath, but finally was able to calm down completely.

"Yasuke?" - she said.

"Yes?" - I wondered what it was she was doing.

"I haven't noticed how much you've grown. You're already capable of standing up for yourself." - Tears appeared in her eyes as she looked at me.

"Yes." - I said, looking at her with a smile, and for real. I have grown even in comparison to my past life. "Unlike you. You're still the same little thing." - I said to lighten the atmosphere and patted her on the head.

"Hahaha." - she laughed lightly.

And then she joined me for a hug, but normally, her head was on my shoulder and her hands were on my back. I had nothing to do, and I wanted nothing more than to hug her back. In such a pleasant atmosphere we stood for about twenty minutes, but even such a pleasant moment had to be stopped.

"I still have things to do today. So, let's meet at my house tonight. I'll pick up Mia and Seiko." - I said patting her on the shoulder.

"Y-yes." - Her voice trembled a little, and she stepped away from me a little and wiped her eyes with her sleeve. "I'll let the others know."

"Okay. See you tonight." - I said goodbye to her, hearing her say goodbye in response, I headed further down the stairs.

Finding Tengan-san in one of the nooks of the park where he usually liked to hang out. Almost two hours were spent discussing basic things, and we also visited the building itself, which had been set aside as a reserve course, and also tried to figure out the basic layout and plan. Well, I also decided to tell Tengan-san about Kyosuke in order to invite him to help us. To which Tengan-san saw no point in refusing, so I had one more thing to do today.
