Jason Townsend has issues with the older men in his life. His current boyfriend Jared is also his boss and, while the two get along wonderfully in the bedroom, their relationship at the office is tense and uncomfortable. Chapter 48

He frowned. “What’s going on, Jason? You take a few days off to go to the shore and you come back looking and acting like someone killed your dog. What’s up?”

“Jared, I know you mean well, but I don’t want to burden you with my problems. I can’t.”

“Why not?”

“Because my life is such a fucking mess right now.”

“Maybe I can help.”

“You can’t. Look, I appreciate you being here. I do. I’ve just really messed something up and, unfortunately, I’m the only one who can fix it.”

“There must be something I can do.”

I looked at him sitting on my sofa with his long legs stretched out before him. He was still wearing the black pants and white button-down shirt he’d worn to work. Seeing him in my apartment again made me realize just how much I’d missed him.

“There is something you can do,” I said.

He sat up. “Okay. What?”

I walked over and crouched before him, resting my hands on his thighs. “Spend the night with me.”
