Veronica

Veronica was 24 years old, a beautiful girl whose father owned big companies and she was known for her father's wealth. She has been dating Phill for the past two years and she cheated on him with the son of his father's friend. Phill was heartbroken because he loved Veronica so much and they were the best couple in town.

After their break up, Phill didn't date anyone even though many girls were after him. Veronica kept coming back, begging him but Phill was afraid she will do it again. Whenever Veronica sees phill with a girl she always makes sure she ruined her life. She was a jealous brat. She didn't want him to date, anyone, except her even though Phill was done with her after everything she has done.

She was furious when she saw a lady's clothes in Phill's car. She was not okay that Phill was seeing another girl. She badly wanted to know who she was to back her off.

Phill pushed Veronica and she almost fell. He rushed to hold her hand before she could fall.

"Are you okay?" He asked.

"Yes, im good."

"Now leave before I hurt you more."

"Phill? Why are you heartless, just give me a chance?"

Before she could finish talking, Phill started his car and drove off. Veronica was left there alone, sobbing. She went back and acted as if nothing happened. 

Phill passed by our house and called me to go get my bag. He looked upset again and I assumed it was because of what happened earlier at the hospital.

"Thank you," I said and take the bag.

"You are welcome. How is your aunt?"

"She is fine and they will discharge her tomorrow."

"That's good. Be safe okay." He looked down.

He was worried about something but I was scared to ask him.

"Of course, I will be safe."

"Can you hug me?" He looked hopeless and I was getting worried.

"Sure, sure." I hugged him and he held me so tightly.

"Don't break my bones, that's too tight."... I told him.

"I want to break your bed, not your bones."

"What? You always say nonsense."

He laughed and let go of me.

"Wait, you have something on your cheeks. Come, let me take it off." He said.

"Where?"... I asked while moving closer to him.

"Here.."... He lowered his head and gave me a peck on my cheek.  "Have a good day, I will call you."

I blushed and quickly went inside. When he left Adel asked what was in the bag but I told her that it was a gift from Phill. She badly wanted to see it but I told her that It was a surprise gift and I will open it in time.

My phone buzzed and to my surprise, it was Valentine. I sharply inhaled and pick the call.

"Hello babe"

"Mia please, don't babe me."

My heart skipped a beat. I have never heard Valentine talking to me that way.

"Are you okay, what is wrong?" I asked.

"I thought you were only cheating on me but no, you don't even sleep in the house. You are bed Mia. Why do you have to cheat on mean? What is that man has that I don't give you?"... Valentine said with a hurt voice.

"Omg, what are you talking about?"

"Don't pretend you know nothing, that man told me to stay away from you. He even sent me a picture of you in his bed."

"What..?"

"Are you surprised that I found out the truth? You are nothing Mia but a liar. We are done."

"I can explain!"... I said.

"What will you explain, That he is not yours and he was lying? I didn't expect this from you."

Before I could say a word, he ended the call and switched off his phone. I couldn't believe what he just said.

"Oh my poor life, oh my pathetic life."

Phill was a witch, he lied to me that he covered everything for me but no, he did himself a favour. I couldn't believe Valentine broke up with me. I was hopeless and tears custard down my cheeks. I tried whipping off my tears but I couldn't stop myself from crying.

I went to the kitchen to get myself a glass of water. I saw one of uncle Teo's bottles of wine and I filled a glass with it. I took a sip and swallowed quickly before I could spit it out. The wine tasted awful and it burned slightly as it slide down my throat. Adel saw me and quickly came to me.

"What is wrong, are you okay?"

"I'm fine, just leave me alone."

She grabbed the glass and put it away. She helped me to sit down on the couch.

"I have never seen you this down, what happened to you?"

I didn't utter a word. I whipped my tears and stopped crying. I told Adel that Valentine broke up with me but I didn't tell her that Phill caused it.

"What, are you not dating Phill?"

"Wait, don't tell me that you have two boyfriends."... She added.

"You thought I was joking when I told you that I wasn't dating Phill?"

"Really? But you guys act like a couple and he told me the other day that you are his girlfriend."

I didn't want to hear his name. I was so annoyed by his name. I told Adel that I didn't want to talk about it. She comforted me and I felt much better. At around 5:00 PM, I went outside the house to get some fresh air. I enjoyed the view and when I was busy lost in my thoughts, I heard a voice and the person was behind me. When I looked back, I saw doctor Daniel from the hospital.

"I'm sorry if I scared you."

"Hey doctor, no it's okay im fine."

"Call me Daniel."

"Sure Daniel, so what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Checking on my neighbours, what are you doing outside?"

"Just getting fresh air."

We chatted and laughed. Daniel seemed to be a good person. He is cute with long hair and a light colour. It was getting dark so I told him that I was going inside the house.

"So would you like us to hang out sometimes, as friends?"

"Yeah cool."

"What about Friday, my friend is hosting a birthday party, we can go there."

"Fine, see you Friday."

"It was nice meeting you Mia, good night."

I looked at him as he walked to his house. I was feeling better again, so I went inside and bathed. Adel cooked dinner. We ate and went to sleep. I wasn't in the mood of doing anything so, I slept.

The next morning, we got a taxi and went to the hospital to go get the drama queen. When we got to the hospital, aunt Anna smiled at Adel

"I'm now recovering Adel, all thanks to you." she faked a smile.
