29. Confusing Personality

"Mister… Vlador," Triana said in a trembling voice.

"Mm," Vlador growled in his throat with a hand holding both of the gosling's hands.

Then he touched her cheek with his finger. Secretly, he sniffed the air in front of his face which was quite close to Triana's face. His smile grew wider because he no longer smelled the aroma of his favourite food. Now, that pleasant scent had been replaced with the scent of floral perfume.

"Please let me go!" Triana said, trying to pull her hands down.

Vlador's gaze returned to the pair of blue eyes. "Gosling…" he whispered as he tapped her soft cheek with his forefinger. "I don't have any close human acquaintances. If we do it, no one will know but the two of us. I promise to keep my mouth shut about this,"

Shaking her head, tears started to well up in Triana's eyes. "Please don't do this Mr. Vlador. I have to keep my chastity for my future husband and maintain my family's pride. Please… Didn't you say that you have no sexual desire for me?"

"Then why are you telling me not to do anything to you and all that shit?" One of Vlador's eyebrows rose.

"Th-that… because I'm terrified. I've never slept in the same room with a man, let alone the same bed. And… you are a man, nevertheless. I just want you to state that what I'm afraid of won't happen so I can sleep peacefully," Triana explained.

Staring at the tears flowing out of the corners of Triana's eyes, Vlador chuckled. Then he gripped and squeezed her cheeks in one hand.

"I'm just kidding," He smiled with his lips and eyes. Then, the colour of his eyes gradually changed back to light brown.

"You can't get everything out of your mouth so carelessly, gosling," Vlador rubbed her moist lips with his thumb. "You may feel worried for yourself. But not everyone will try to understand your feelings and sympathize with you. Instead, you'll end up offending them,"

Removing Triana's hands, Vlador directed his thumbs to rub her eyes briefly like wiping the dirt from the window. "Even if I'm just kidding right now, next time it might turn out to be real if you keep annoying me by constantly suspecting me. I will fuck you hard and even make you pregnant with a vampire child. It's not hard for me to do. Do I sound clear to you - gosling?"

Gulping hard, Triana nodded. "Y-Yes,"

"Good girl," Vlador said before returning his body to its spot. Then he put his arms behind his head again and closed his eyes.

The sound of the rain grew weaker until it finally died down altogether. Vlador's eyes slowly opened, revealing his light brown irises which then rolled to the side.

Turning his body, Vlador stared at Triana's peaceful sleeping face. The gentle face had a rosy tint around its eyes and nose. Without Vlador having to touch them, he could notice the remaining tears drying on her long eyelashes.

In just an instant, the gosling fell asleep after Vlador let her alone earlier. Now, she slept like a baby next to him. There was no longer that weak girl who kept staring at him in fear. Yes, it's no wonder Triana was afraid of him, considering that she had almost been eaten by him once.

'She has a beautiful face,' Vlador thought as his finger brushed a strand of hair from the gosling's cheek. 'I hate it,'

"I'm hungry," Then he muttered as he returned his back to lie down.

Then he glanced back at Triana and sniffed the air around her. It's only been a few hours since this girl washed herself. But her body odour had begun to faintly smell back.

This was torturous – to endure hunger when the tastiest food lay beside him unhindered. He only needed to open his mouth and sink his fangs into the gosling's neck. After that, her delicious blood would fill his mouth, flowing on his tongue, and down to his throat.

Imagining it all made Vlador's eyes turn red again. How long must he be in this condition? Actually, it was fine if he couldn't drink the most delicious blood he had ever tasted, as long as this human did not continue to be beside him - in front of him.

This curse must be lifted immediately. Vlador didn't know how long he could hold himself back. He knew himself very well. He was not the type of man who could get used to situations he didn't like to live in. He was not someone who could hold back and endure being with something or someone he hated. If he could do all that, he would not have killed the most important woman in his life.

The sky was starting to get its light. Triana woke up to the sound of knocking on the door. It took her two seconds to digest that she was in an inn chamber, and remember that last night she had slept next to a male vampire, in the same bed.

However, Triana found herself in the middle of the bed now, with a comfortable but slightly musty-smelling blanket wrapped around her. Screening the entire small chamber, Triana found herself alone here. Where was Mr. Vlador?

The sound of knocking on the door came again, now with a force and amount that showed the knocker's impatience.

"Yes," Triana exclaimed as she got out of bed and jogged towards it.

Opening the door, she was immediately greeted by two maidservants who were carrying washing basins and a sky-blue dress.

"Good morning, miss. We are here to help you clean up and get dressed. Mr. Vlad was the one who sent us here," One of them explained.

"O-oh, I see," Triana shifted to let the maidservants in.

"Do you know where Mr. Vlad is?" Triana asked while opening her nightgown.

"Mr. Vlad is preparing the carriage, miss. We will deliver your breakfast after this, as he ordered," the maidservant replied.

Nodding slightly, Triana was lost in her thoughts. Well, she did not think Mr. Vlador would send maidservants to help her get dressed and have breakfast.

Last night's events gave her goosebumps but on the other hand, also gave a warm sensation on her cheeks. That man was unbelievably strange. Triana didn't understand his personality. He could sometimes seem awfully mean and cold, but he could be caring and warm at other times.

To be clear, did Mr. Vlador think of Triana as just food? Even, if he was taking care of her health and making sure Triana didn't starve since their lives were connected, it would be a bit strange if he also paid attention to her clothes and comfort.

However, stock farmers also paid attention to the sheds and the happiness of their cattle even though in the end, they would slaughter them. Was Mr. Vlador thought that way of her? If their curse had been lifted, would he try to eat her like on their first meeting?

"You're done, miss,"

Awakened from her reverie, Triana returned her gaze to the front - to the slender mirror attached to the side of the fireplace. She smiled and nodded slightly.

It was not bad. The sky-blue dress that matched her eye colour was indeed not as beautiful as the dresses she usually wore. It looked quite simple with a bit of light embroidery on the body. However, she didn't expect that her body would still look good even though she wasn't wearing Stay.
