2 Battle Royale

The moment Aaron said that the middle aged shop keepers face turned dark.

"Did I say something wrong?" He thought to himself.

Just as Aaron was about to apologise the shop keepers face changed suddenly.

"Really, you really like it? No ones ever said that despite all the effort I put into keeping it as well maintained as it is."

Surprisingly the shop keepers face turned into that of someone who was wronged, looking at Aaron the shop keeper truly felt he understood him.

"Anyway, what do you want?" The shop keeper seemed extra friendly when talking to Aaron.

"Um, how much is this?" Aaron picked up a metal sword from the counter beside him. The sword was around 70 centimetres.

"That? For you I'll only ask for two low grade spirit stones." The shop keeper said after much consideration.

"Low grade spirit stones?" Aaron understood they were the currency that this game used but he still needed to find out their use and where to get them.

"Don't tell me you've never heard of them?" The shop keepers face was that of shock but he still explained it.

"Spirit stones are the currency cultivators use. The grade of the stone depends on the quantity and purity of the stone." After explaining spirit stones briefly he was slightly out of breath.

"How can I get them?" Now that Aaron knew their use he realised how important they were. Thus he needed to know where to get them.

"Oh, you can get them a lot of ways but the easiest near us is the arena. The arena favours high risk for a high reward." After explaining everything to Aaron the shop keeper was panting for breath sneaking so no one would see him.

Aaron figured he should probably go to the arena so he said goodbye to the shop keeper and started walking away.

"Wait!" The shop keeper realised Aaron's intentions about going into the arena and stopped him.

"The arenas very dangerous, you could die. Are you sure you still want to go?" Despite the fact that the shop keeper just met Aaron he seemed worried.

Aaron felt weird, he knew it was a game but it felt so real talking to the shop keeper, even if it was through text.

Aaron quickly typed "Don't worry, I'll be fine." Into the keyboard.

Just as Aaron started turning around to leave he was stopped by the shop keeper again.

"You're as stubborn as I used to be. Take this." The shop keeper said while picking up a rusted sword from behind his cash register.

"I know it isn't the best quality but it's better than nothing. The sword was apparently found in an old cave but when they saw it was nothing but an old rusty sword they sold it to me. That was at least a few years ago."

Reminiscing about the past the shop keeper handed the sword to Aaron. The shop keeper started to walk back to his cash register to serve his other customers.

"Thank you." Aaron replied as a formality.

He was fully prepared, despite the fact his only weapon was a rusty sword. Aaron knew it was only a game so he didn't have anything to worry about dying.

When Aaron left the store the screen went back to normal. He quickly tapped the arena with his finger waiting for the screen to change.

Their were two options, one was the duals while the second was the battle royale.

After contemplating for a few seconds he tapped on the screen selecting the battle royale option. Soon after he selected that option the screen turned dark.

The screen brightened showing a first person view of a massive colosseum. When Aaron looked around he saw dozens of people all around with a variety of weapons in their hands.

Aaron looked at the commands on his screen. He could attack, block and run. Aaron was enjoying the detail put into the game, everything looked real. All the people in the stands watching the colosseum were very detailed. He could see the wrinkles in their clothes and the colour of their eyes.

"Are you ready! A loud voice swept across the whole colosseum attracting everyone's attention.

"The battle will soon begin!" The announcer started counting down.

"3" The was getting excited to see everyone fight.

"2" Some of the other warriors were shifting in their place while some others were looking proudly almost like they knew they would win.

"1" When everyone heard the countdown reach one they all looked slightly nervous.

Aaron knew that even if this was a game there was no reason he should die a meaningless death. He moved back slightly deciding to sneak his was towards the closest fight.

He waited until one of the fighters was about to finish the other one off. Aaron ran in and spammed the attack button killing the victorious fighter. Aaron hastily looked towards the one who was about to die and pressed the attack button killing him.

Despite it being a game because of how real everyone looked Aaron felt as though he really killed them two. While Aaron was momentarily stunned another fighter snook up on him raising his sword to attack Aaron.

Realising someone was behind hi Aaron quickly pressed the block button allowing him to block the attack with minimal damage to himself.

The two people who he had just defeated were both injured while the man in front of Aaron was at full health. Aaron saw he was attacking again so he pressed

Aaron's character was panting from tiredness while he was also panting in real life. He felt a slight pain in his arms when his character was attacked.

Quickly steadying himself Aaron mercilessly returned several attacks back to the man surprising him. Aaron could see the mans arms were shaking from the pressure of the attacks.

A colds shine passed through Aaron's eyes momentarily as he raised his sword preparing to slash his opponent. The man suddenly regretted attacking Aaron as he froze when he saw an unimaginable coldness in Aaron's eyes.

Aaron's sword slashed into the mans stomach nearly cutting him in two. Aaron suddenly regained his composure and was freaked out. He felt himself change for a moment when he was fighting that man.

Aaron quickly shook his head removing such thoughts, remembering how he was attacked previously because he had stopped. Aaron decided to think about his problems after the battle.
