C6: A Change of Fate

Reno finished tying up all the knots of the body. Chris's unconscious body was tied around the waist to the chest, and even his feet were tied up to the legs of the chair.

"Ha… that's – that's a relief," Reno sighed in exhaustion.

Windy was standing by the door as he finished up tying the body.

"This day is a whole lot fucked up," she laughed upon seeing the body of her nephew tied up to a chair. Even the eyes were closed using a black ribbon to keep the guy from witnessing the faces of any Wingston here.

"Whole lot fucked up?" Reno smirked at the girl. "I don't think so. This day just keeps getting better for me!"

Chris sat there in the Vampire Prince's room, wondering what to do next.

He did not hesitate because he already found the solution to his problem. If he had this Alacard's memories, he could simply just act like Alucard did every other day if the Vampire Queen or an Origin popped up.

What he was scared of most – was having the Thirst.

The Thirst was the reason why Vampires were frightening and a threat to society. They have to feed on blood at the right time, or their hunger will manage to take over their minds and cause chaos.

He hoped that they served blood packets in the house because he did not want to cold-bloodedly bite the nape of an innocent girl or a child for his Dinner.

"Ha… this is frustrating," he told himself, curling up in bed and rethinking the situation he was put in.

A moment later, there was a knock in his room. Just by hearing the 4-time knock, the memory of their 'Maiden' came back to him.

"Master Al. Are you awake? The Queen isn't coming today either. But – come out for dinner, or I'll bring the food here if you want." The maiden's voice was sweet and there was a little shyness and kindness behind it.

Chris gazed at the door and thought back – to see if asking to bring his meal to the door was a good choice. Apparently, this prince was more of a loner in his family house.

And, their Maiden's name was Ruby.

"Thank you for giving me the news about — mmm… Mom, Ruby. But do send the meals to my room today."

"As you wish, A – Master Al!"

He could hear hurried footsteps running through the hallways. Then, he grabbed his phone and waited. Waited for the Mastermind Jack to call.

The Wingston's Apartment Building, 10:31 pm:

Jack waited for the three latecomers to arrive for their Pizza Night, but none appeared even after 10 minutes, and Reno's mobile was engaged.

Jake was there with the Twins, and the Pizza had already come to his apartment.

"Hmm… Jack – where are Reno and Windy? And Chris…" Lustlie, the boy with the weird curly cut asked their old man.

"I am still waiting for them, mate. I may have hurt our Reno boy's feelings."

"Should I go check on them?"

"Umm —"

The door to Jack's apartment opened and Windy rushed in. However, she was panting as if she had just run down the stairs and had a slightly worrying look on her face.

Jack already knew that something bad had happened!

"Windy!? What happened to you? Are you alright?"

Windy, however, didn't seem to look like she was in pain. Instead, her lips curved into a smirk as she gazed at Jack.

"What the hell are you smirking for, girl?"

"You gotta see this. We may have a chance of bringing down the Vampires right in our hands!"

That was all Jack had to listen to because his interest peaked instantly.

"Hustlie! Leslie! You two come along! Tell Jake to defend the Pizza from the rats!" Jack cried out as he walked out of the apartment.

Leslie did as he asked. He ordered the kid to keep his eye on the Pizza and that was all that Jake wanted to hear. The moment he was given a quest, he was determined.

He saluted Leslie. Leslie laughed and saluted back to him.

"Good boy!"

Then, all four of them walked up to Reno's apartment to see the big surprise.

Jack gazed at the tied-up body of Chris once again, keeping his hand on Chris's head.

The flow of aura around Chris's body was still the same level of aura he had when his soul wasn't still switched, which meant the power of the Vamps was still in Alucard's main body.

Jack turned to Reno and said, "Call Chris."

Reno quickly dialed the same number he had a call from just moments ago.

Chris waited impatiently for the call, and he was starting to sweat now. The dinner was being brought to his room, but what if any of Alucard's relatives come into his room?

And right when he heard a couple of footsteps passing by, his phone rang.

"Shit –" Chris quickly grabbed the phone and answered the call. "Guys! I'm –"

"Chris, are you ok?"

He turned down the volume of the phone and listened to the sound of footsteps outside. As he listened closer, he could hear something, and the sound waves bouncing off the walls made it loud and clear.

"Sheesh, I can't do it with Alicia! Can't she just stop stalking my crush! I hate you!" The Vampire passing by the hallways outside, possibly a cousin of his, was cursing someone.

She was lost in her own thoughts, which meant she had no focus on Chris's room.

Chris sighed in relief as he heard the sound of the footsteps gradually decreasing.

"Dude!?" Jack cried out from the phone.

"Yes, yes… I'm here."

"What the hell happened?"

"There are other Vamps here, and they aren't going to like the fact that I am not the real soul of Chris, so… I can't risk doing shit."

Jack sighed. "Yeah.. don't treat this like a curse. And please… don't die!"

"Okay. Just tell me now – what is your plan for this. What the hell should I do with this body – to help in the mission."

"Hmmm… finally, you're starting to feel a little like your mother. Listen closely."

Chris stopped hesitating for a while… and focused on what Jack was going to say now.

"You're the Vampire Queen's son right now, and you won't have a change of fate like this no matter how much we beg the Gods… but this – this is our chance.

"So you listen closely! Stay in touch with us whenever you can in whatever way you can. And – can you use your powers as a Vampire?"

"I – I just used the ultra sense of hearing without even thinking much – I think."

"Wh – no no. Try supernatural speed. That can confirm it," Jack said, waiting patiently for him to try it out.

"B – but how do I control it!?"

"Just do it, Chris!" The whole family's voices came from the phone now.

Chris sighed and thought about a way to use the speed, and he got an idea.

"Ha… let's –" Chris took the pillow in his bed and threw it at the wall as fast as he could, and stood up at the same time with the determination to catch it before it hit the wall.

Everything around Chris felt blurred for a moment, and his feet felt light. At a supernatural speed, he disappeared from the place he was standing and appeared before the wall. The pillow came right into his hand.

"Ha… that was easy. Guys… I have the powers!"

"Yes… YES!" Jack cried out like a maniac. It was finally happening. His dream was coming to its conclusion. The cure for the incurable disease called 'Vampires' was right in his hands.

"Son… I have the perfect plan for you."
