"What happened boss?"
"Why are you screaming?"
Turns out that Jack had arrived after hearing his screams.
"I-I… I didn't abandon you uncle"
"Yes, yes, yes, I did everything just to survive"
Brian wasn't really aware of the presence of Jack and still spoke loudly while trying to fight his inner regrets.
"boss…Boss…"
"BOSS, FUCKING LISTEN TO ME"
*slap*
"I have no clue on what are you mumbling about, but I just know that you are a fucking professional in [Selection Area] and I am your subordinate
So, GET A HANG OF YOURSELF"
Jack was freaking out on his end. He wasn't sure whether Brian died then he, as a subordinate would live or not.
Under rage, he slapped Brian eventually waking him up.
"Huh….What?" Brian mumbled
He was confused about his current situation as he felt a burning sensation on his cheek.
Just an instant later, he felt the evil thoughts arise again, trying to drown him in the river of darkness.
"Get the hell OUT OF MY MIND" Brian screamed with determined eyes
The black gas was ejected from his body from his scream and willpower leaving two pale blue beasts floating behind him.
"Huff…Huff…Puff"
Brian breathed heavily while being drenched in sweat.
He turned his head to look at the lifeless panther and bear floating behind him in pale blue form.
A look of horror was still evident on his face as he remembered about his state earlier.
After giving a deep look at them, Brian turned his head towards Jack who stood like a child admitting his mistake.
He wasn't sure how his ruthless and cold-blooded 'boss' would react after he cursed him out loud and even slapped him.
"Thank You"
Brian sincerely thanked him. After all, he was still unsure whether he would've been able to capture the familiars without Jack, but Jack had helped him and as a man of principle, he thanked him.
"Huh?"
Jack had two huge question marks on his face but Brian did not wait to explain him and walked towards the wood cabin.
…
Walking for quite a bit, Brian reached a wooden log cabin built by Jack.
"Quite a nice house"
Brian nodded while mumbling and praising the structure of the wooden house.
He walked inside to lay down on the bed, before opening the |Communication| tab to check on his parent's situation.

Pooja: "How are you, Brian?"
"Is everything alright there?"
"Yes, we chose exactly what you told us to and I even have 7 elves to help me out"
"Reply as soon as you see this"
Ashok: "How are you son?"
"Need any help from your dad?"
"Yes, your mom and I chose exactly what you told us to. At the current stage, I can build almost all the weapon's in the Beginner's Entrance gift. I can also build a few special type weapons like catapults and crossbows.
"By the way, I got in touch with your scientist friends and sent them quite a bit of resources to let them start their experiments."
"Also, this world is quite different from what we expected. Come online to talk in detail about it."
A smile broke out on Brian's face looking at the messages of his Mom-Pooja and Dad-Ashok. He replied instantly to both of them telling them that he is fine and asking them not to overexert themselves.
He had already instructed his Father to take a Blacksmith's 'help' while his mother took an Elf Holy tree as her 'help'.
All this was already according to his plan to cooperate with his Mom and Dad to trade resources and earn Creation Points faster.
Brian sent a message to his father asking about the different things in this [Selection Area] and then closed his eyes to take a short nap.
...
Late evening
Deep in the jungle
"attack together"
"NO! not that way"
"Fucking dumbasses"
Brian was training the recently acquired soul familiars to see what they are capable of and assign work to them.
While training the two soul familiars, Brian found out that the familiars were not that intelligent and complex orders couldn't be given.
Even though he could control their limbs, it required a lot of his so-called mental strength, and the losses outweigh the gains. So, he had decided to teach them certain moves and train them like normal pets.
It was like teaching a pet cat to poop in the designated area- very tiring.
The job was very tiring but Brian's energy was over the roof. His father had messaged him earlier stating that the [Selection Area] doesn't just have humans and included various intellectual species like dwarfs, kobolds, orcs, gnomes, and many more.
The |Creature Chat| will also include them and the trading zones will also start including them after a certain condition has been fulfilled.
These creatures are different from the elves summoned by his mother as they will have access to the Default System and will compete with him for the Selection Spots.
Brian felt a sudden urgency to improve his strength and make his fist stronger to feel at least some confidence to get the Selection Spots among the billions of humans and the unknown amount of other Creatures.
He had tried to let the two familiars hunt for him, but unfortunately, he didn't find any loophole and all the experience just vanished.
Brian was left with no choice but to hunt animals while Jack gained experience by Creating things. But, unfortunately, Brian had no free time as he had to get raw materials from the forest and train the two familiars.
'It will take a few more hours before these beasts can identify the basic materials and learn to carry them to the wooden house'
Brian had no choice but to remain hopeful and train those familiars as an investment for future.
He then returned to the wooden house while the familiars carried the raw materials he collected.
"Boss, you are back. How was the harvest?" Jack asked with an enthusiastic voice.
He found the strength of his boss to be quite strong and felt that it was not a problem to live under the protection of such a boss. After all, he only had to build the wooden house while the raw materials will arrive at his doorstep and he will also get food to survive which was nothing more than heaven compared to his life in the past ten days.
"Hmm. It's Quite a nice harvest. I found a mint bush in the deeper forest and carried a few with me. Burn the mint at night to prevent wild mosquitoes to come nearby.
Well, I also found a few plant climbers which could be used as rope along with a wooden house which was mostly of a human."
"I will raid that house at night to get a few more supplies. You continue to continue expanding the wooden house and creating a warehouse and a few more rooms"
Brian pondered before giving a few orders. In his observation, someone who could survive the Beast Tide was no way someone frail and weak who couldn't work so he had no second thoughts about overburdening Jack to construct everything alone.
He also saw 3 corpses of goblin-like creatures near a beast cave but there was no need to give the details to his builder.
He had already taken a nap in the afternoon, so Brian once again went into the forest to train those familiars and take a look at the surroundings.
