As everyone arrived, they saw Garp boasting to Zephyr about his grandson's strength and achievements. As Akihiro arrived, he welcomed Luffy and Zoro. He instantly became friends with Luffy because… well, it's Luffy!

Of course, Luffy was technically Akihiro's subordinate but Akihiro wasn't a tyrant like Celestial Dragons and befriended Luffy as they were around the same age and he liked Luffy's character a lot.

The shinobi were so shocked that this young looking man had a 19 year old grandson. Then the Marines told them that Garp was actually 78 years old which surprised them greatly and they were willing to see how strong this grandson of the Navy's Hero was.

Zoro on the other hand was loyal to Akihiro like he was to Luffy. Akihiro, on the way, had already informed a Marine Officer to call Brook there as well. Seeing Brook, both Luffy and Zoro were overjoyed.

Everyone shifted back to Akihiro's office and as Luffy and Zoro got to know about the upcoming tournament, they were very excited and expressed their willingness to join. Seeing this, Garp also requested to grant an opportunity for Luffy to fight for his spot in the tournament.

Out of his respect for Garp, Akainu said, "I'm willing to give the second spot to Mr. Garp's grandson and willing to go third."

The shinobi also agreed to this as they knew that Garp was so strong that he could even fight against all the tailed beasts on his own as they've seen him, Sengoku and Shiki sparring to reminisce about their old days. They were sure that even the legendary first Hokage Senju Hashirama and his rival Uchiha Madara might lose against these 3 monsters.

At this moment, Luffy interfered, "Hey! I don't want a free spot just because of my grandpa. I will fight you for it."

Garp also nodded and said, "Bwahahaha! As expected of my grandson! Sakazuki, fight with everything you've got if you don't want to suffer a humiliating loss."

Sakazuki looked at Akihiro who nodded, giving his permission and he too agreed for the duel. Everyone including the shinobi were excited as they were well aware of what Sakazuki was capable of and wanted to see what Mr. Garp's grandson could do.

The friendly duel was scheduled to be held on the next day in the Colosseum that he had built a few weeks ago for tournaments and spars for the World Government affiliated nations in the Holy Land.

Soon, this news spread and the whole territory of the World Government were shocked by learning that someone has challenged a Fleet Admiral rank Marine for his spot in the upcoming tournament but as they learned that it was the grandson of Navy's Hero and one of the strongest Marines, Admiral Garp, they thought that this Garp must have had considerable support from the high command of Navy as he was from the previous generation and the best friend of Fleet Admiral Sengoku.

They understood that Garp must've been extremely fond of his grandson and requested Akihiro to allow him a chance. They also believed that even if Fleet Admiral Sakazuki was far stronger than this 19 year old young man, he will not embarrass Mr. Garp too much and act like it was a close match and then win decisively after a few rounds.
