Who hurt you(chapter 16)

Jennie didn't know that she had captured someone's attention,she was in good mood,she searched about the company and couldn't believe it.This time she was indeed lucky, kindness always pays back,she was happy she had helped the man.Lucas was in deep thoughts when he heard his grandfather clear his throat,"please do take care of her when she start working at the company" he said,Lucas smiled and replied,"don't worry".Mr Stanley looked at his grandson and smiled,he knew why he was doing all of this.They reached at his mansion and Lucas left,he didn't live with his grandfather, he had his own villa.He couldn't stay with his grandfather despite him being the closest relative,he had other businessess that he didn't want his grandfather to know about.

Once he got to his villa,he went to the balcony and made a call."Hello John,I want you to resign" he said,the other person on the call was shocked,"why?did you get a better secretary?" he couldn't understand why he told him to resign,Lucas always have weird requests."I have my reason I'll give you another position in one of our branches","no I'm not interested I want to work where you're,am I not important to you that you can throw me away whenever you feel like?"he asked accusingly."Do what I say I'll double your salary for the next three months" Lucas tried to negotiate with him."No I won't accept it,you're more important to me than money",Lucas smirked at his comment,"five months or nothing" Lucas said, Johnny cleared his throat and replied "okay, you're the boss and I'm just an employee so,I'll do as you say,don't forget our deal",Lucas hung up the phone and smiled.

He made another call,he was calling his best friend Chris "what do you want?" asked Chris,Lucas didn't get offended by his rudeness,"make arrangements to change the secretary's office" he said,"what!why is Johnny complaining again"asked Chris."No the office should be closer to mine, take all the things in the room that is closer to mine and make it the secretary's office okay" he explained, Chris clicked his tongue "sure" he said and hung up.Jennie had sent her resume was supposed to start working after two days .The day she was supposed to start working, Jennie woke up early to prepare,she wore a black trouser suit,it wasn't tight,she had applied make up and tied her hair into a loose bun.She looked beautiful and professional,the clothes were comfortable.After she was done checking herself in the mirror,she caressed her stomach though the baby pumb wasn't revealing,it had become a habit.

Jennie took a taxi to Alphatech company,it was the biggest and largest tech company in the country,they also had branches in other countries but she was going to work at the headquarters.She was excited as well as nervous,she hoped things would turn out good.She was amazed by how big the company was,it had many floors,there were more than thousands of employees,they hurriedly got into the building, Jennie stood and looked at the building with amazement,after sometime she got in."Hello I'm Jennifer Louis the new CEO's secretary" she introduced herself,the receptionist smiled,"ooh the new secretary,we have been expecting you,follow me I'll show you your office,later the HR will show you around" said the receptionist, Jennie nodded and followed the receptionist.They used the elevator to the fifth floor,that's where her office was,"this is your office and that is the CEO's office" showed the receptionist,"thank you" she said,the receptionist nodded her head,"today he might come late,try not to offend him and also never leave from work before he does or without his permission" he adviced,Jennie smiled and thanked her.

She pushed the door open, the room was big and classic,even her father's secretary office wasn't like this,one could mistaken it for being the CEO office,she placed her purse on the table and started looking around,the office was neat, everything organized.She sat on the chair,it was comfortable,when she left her home,she never knew she will get job but now she was an employees, working as a CEO secretary in a big company.She began going through some files,after sometime she received a call from the HR,she went to her office,she was given employee card and was shown around,she was told everything about the company.After that she went back to her office,she sat for more than two hours before she received a call,the CEO had called her,she became nervous,she knocked on his door."Come in" said Lucas,Jennie pushed the door open and got in,she stood waiting for his orders,"sir you called me" she said."Sit town" Lucas said, Jennie sat,"have you settled" he asked,"yes sir" replied Jennie proffesionally.Lucas nodded his head and gave her some files to work on,she was happy to work at her first day.though the pay was good the work was tiring,there was alot of work for her everyday,one week was over since she started working as a secretary,she always came home tired and her pregnancy didn't make things easy.She had known his boss's preference and worked hard every day,Lucas was used to having long meetings that extend past 7:00pm,when they were working on something and the deadline was near they become more busier.

Lucas was busy working on something that he didn't pay much attention to his new secretary, Jennie was in her office,it was already 8:30pm but Lucas hadn't come out of his office,he was in a video call with important clients.She felt tired and hungry but she couldn't leave,it had been one week and she didn't want to get on his bad side.She felt sleepy,she kept on yawning,she hoped the meeting would end soon.Lucas was done with his meeting,there was no one in the company except for him and his secretary, he decided to let her go home,he still had other things to do and didn't want to keep her.He knocked on her door but there was no response,he assumed that she had left,he turned around to leave but stopped after hearing some inaudible murmuring.He pushed the door open,Jennie was fast sleep and couldn't hear her boss walk in,she kept on talking in her sleep,there was sweat on her forehead and tears kept flowing down her cheeks,she seemed to be having a nightmare.Lucas was surprised to see her in this condition,he became worried and decided to woke her up but she held his hand." Please I'm sorry don't do this,I'm sorry,please forgive me,have mercy don't hurt me" she kept on begging.Lucas couldn't stand it,he tried to wake her up but it was futile,"I'm sorry" he apologized and hugged her,"sssh!it's okay I'm here,no one will hurt you" he assured rubbing her back,she stopped murmuring,her face relaxed,slept peacefully.Lucas freed himself from her hold and sat on the couch,he looked at her as she slept."What's happened to you?,who hurt you in this extend?" he said in a low voice,his curiosity increased,he wanted to know everything about her,he knew he was attracted to her,he found her interesting.
