Taking the bullet for her(chapter 38)

The man at the rooftop clicked his tongue annoyed,he was an assassin he liked hiting his target with one shot and he hated missing his target but before he could shoot again he quickly hid after seeing bodyguards sorround them holding their guns alert,the other bodyguards were quickly running heading to the opposite building where he was,he took out his phone and quickly made a call "is everything done?" asked the other person on the phone "no boss,I didn't hit the target" he said "what?how could you miss the target?" asked the other person angrily "he took the bullet meant for her but boss who is he?he seems not to be an ordinary person?" asked the man curious,as an assassin they weren't allowed to know any information about their clients and their target,he only received a photo of her and where he should do the killing,but he got curious because even though it was silent it seemed like Lucas sensed the bullet and quickly acted by pushing her out of the way and getting shot instead,only highly trained people could feel the speed and direction of a bullet which was almost impossible "get here right now before they find you" the other person said and hung up,mission failed and now the building was sorounded with no where to run to."LUCAS!!!" Jennie called she held the unconscious Lucas in her hands,she was trembling her eyes filled with tears she wasn't even aware of the bodyguards surrounding them,she couldn't hear or see anything her mind was filled with the thoughts of Lucas only,the bodyguards had already received a call from Chris,he gave them instructions to protect them while waiting for the helicopter to take him to the hospital.Jennie looked at Lucas and felt unexplainable heartache,why?why?why? she kept on asking herself,she stretched her trembling hand and touched his wound on his chest,his white shirt was soaked with blood.After two minutes the helicopter landed,Chris and Daniel got out of the helicopter,they looked panicked and worried they quickly ran and without saying a word they carried him to the helicopter.Jennie quickly followed them "you should stay here we will take care of him" Chris said there was no enough space for extra person,there was a doctor giving Lucas first aid to stop the bleeding,Jennie looked at him with anger and impatient "I'm his wife" she said her tone dominant,Chris looked and her in suprise "Daniel stay back and investigate,make sure you get that person dead or alive, I'll go with mrs Lucas" he said and both quickly got in,Jennie sat near Lucas as he received the first aid,please hold on until we get to the hospital ,I hope nothing happens to you,you can't leave me,she thought tears fallings on her cheeks.

A few hours ago,Daniel received a call from Lucas early in the morning,"I'm going to visit my grandfather with my wife,I won't bring bodyguards with me so you need to check the area if it's safe before I travel" he said "why not bring your bodyguards?" Daniel asked,though they were friends when it come to his safety he was careful and serious "I want her to be comfortable,besides we want privacy" he said,the type of bodyguards he had weren't simple and it might alarm her,the one she had seen in his villa were just security people far from his own team of bodyguards "how about they follow you secretly?" "no need for that,I know you will be watching us through the Cctvs,grandpa has enough bodyguards we will be fine" he assured,his bodyguards never followed him around in the open they hid following his secretly.He was confident no one had the guts to hurt him he was Lucas after all,though Daniel was worried he finaly agreed,Lucas wasn't a simple man he was confident in his skills,when they left the house they weren't accompanied by bodyguards Daniel hacked all the cctvs to make sure there was no suspicious person near the city.He was watching Lucas' grandpa's residence when he noticed something unusual opposite the mansion, he tried calling Lucas to notify him but he didn't pick up his phone,the person on the rooftop looked like an old grandpa,he held a walking stick and a cigarette in his hand,the cctv didn't have a clear view of who really the person was so Daniel didn't think too much about it,he had thought no one would dare attack Lucas at his grandfather's mansion,when Lucas and Jennie walked out the man pretending to be old took out his gun and aimed at her.Daniel panicked and tried calling Lucas but he refused to answer,he called his friend Chris but before he could warn the bodyguards Lucas had been shot,they were late.Chris used Lucas' helicopter and together with the doctor they went to his grandfather's mansion.

A few days ago at a dim light room,a woman sat her legs crossed twirling the glass of wine in her hands,she wore a black short dress,her nails painted black,black hair everything she wore was black in colour even her lips were painted with a dark colour."Ma'am I have confirmed it he is married" reported a man,he too wore black clothes his face completely covered leaving only his eyes "married,you sure?" asked the woman in a powerful and commanding tone "I'm sure,they had a court marriage they been married for a month" replied the man.The woman's eyes darkened,a sinister and dark aura surrounded her,she smashed the glass in her hands on the floor breaking it into a million pieces,she gritted her teeth her eyes showing how angry she was,like she was about to struggle someone to death,the man quickly fell on his knees trembling,"please ma'am calm down" he tried persuading her.The woman looked at him her eyes filled with hate,she walked where he was and started landing heavy blows and kicks on his body,the man only groaned in pain without saying anything,he was used to it, their young madam had a really bad temper and whoever brought her bad news had to suffer the same fate as him and if she was in a bad mood you might even face worse,like loosing a part of your body part or getting killed."How dare he?" she asked taking out her anger on the wrong person,the man swallowed his resentment and after being beaten blue black for a while she stopped to catch her breath,she took out her gun ready to shoot him the man trembled in fear "have mercy ma'am" he pleaded for his life his face covered with blood,in this kind of place if he got killed he will be tossed in the ocean or fed to his young madam's fierce dogs,he got so scared that he fainted."Stop" said a male voice with a cold and authoritative tone before she could pull the trigger,she turned around and pouted "dad" she called sweetly,her demeanour different from the monster she was a few seconds ago,a tall man in his late fifties walked closer to her,she hugged him a smile on her face "priencess what are you doing?what did he do that you want to kill him?" asked the man.

"He offended me" she said and explained what the man told him,the old man looked at the man lying on the ground unconscious "take him away and have him treated" he ordered and a man quickly walked near the unconscious man and carried him away.He patted his daughter's head "priencess you need to learn how to control you temper,you can't always kill people because they brought you bad news" he adviced,everyone knew that he had spoiled his daughter too much that she become overbearing and demanding,she had a bad temper and very stubborn she was difficult to deal with,he had made his daughter become the kind of person she was,he had thought by spoiling her and giving her whatever she wanted was going to fill the void left by her mother,his wife who died because of his enemies and mistakes,he did it to make it up for her for growing up without a mother and to lessen his guilt."So you're angry he got married?" he asked his daughter "mmhh,I thought he would never move on,after all I'm his first love but I was wrong,he got married not long after we broke up,I had thought I'll only be the woman he will ever love,Dad I love him and I can't bear to see him with someone else" she said tears in her eyes. The man sighed and hugged his beloved daughter "priencess it's time you move on too,you two were never made to be" he adviced,the woman shook her head denying "I'll never love anyone except him" she said determined "but dear,he isn't that simple I can't force him to marry you,there are other men good as him out there,choose another man and I promise to get him for you" "dad I only want him,if I can't have him I rather die" she said.The man looked at her panicked "dear don't you dare say that I forbid you, I can't loose you,you're my only daughter" he said "then get him for me and I promise nothing will happen to me,please dad I can't live without him" she said "I'll see what I can do" he said and her daughter smiled "thanks dad" she said and left.The man took out his phone,the calm and peaceful demeanour replaced by coldness and ruthlessness "who is the lady he married?" he asked,the other person on the phone chuckled "why are you intrested?" he asked "just tell me who did he marry I have no time to play games" he said his voice cold and dominant "I'll send you the file with her information" the person said and he hung up.After a few minutes he received an email,he went through the email and an evil grin appeared on his face,he took out his phone and send a message 'KILL HER' the message read accompanied by a photo of Jennie,the person smirked and replied "Sure".
