Jennie woke up early and prepared breakfast,she didn't sleep well the entire night because of how nervous she was,today was the day they were going to visit Lucas' grandfather."Nervous?" asked Lucas taking a sit in the dining table,"yeah I was unable to sleep well" replied Jennie after pouring him a cup of coffee,"no need to worry to much we can do this" he said trying to cheer her up he too was nervous but for other reasons,Jennie smiled and nodded her head,we only need to convience him once everything is done Lucas will be able to get his inheritance and I'll get want I want and then we can.....Jennie shook her head she didn't want to think about it.Lucas looked at her confused "what's wrong?why are you shaking your head?" asked Lucas concerned, a flush appeared on her face "it's nothing" she replied embarrassed confusing Lucas even more,"are you sure?" he asked and Jennie nodded her head "then why is your face so red? are you unwell?" "it's nothing don't mind me" Jennie quickly replied "we better hurry or else we will be late" she said trying to change the topic and Lucas nodded and both quickly had their breakfast.Jennie was drying her hair using blow dry, Lucas had gone to the guest room to get ready,he had taken a shower and wore a very expensive blue suit,he expected Jennie to be almost done,he knocked on the door and pushed it open "are you do...." he looked at Jennie in shock,she was wrapped with a towel holding a blow dry in her hands.Jennie turned and looked at him in suprise "you're done give me twenty minutes I'll be quick" she said and continued blow drying her hair,Lucas was speechless he turned around and left,all that time was she still taking a shower?almost an hour? does she always take this long to shower?,she was the one who said she didn't want us to be late but now she is taking an hour to prepare,he thought walking downstairs,if he had a sister or a close female friend maybe he would have understood but poor him didn't know much about women,he only grew up surrounded by male friends.

Lucas sat on the living room,he kept checking his wrist watch then he would sigh she had taken more than twenty minutes after forty minutes Jennie showed up.There were footsteps approaching and Lucas looked up and immediately he was captivated,Jennie wore slightly loose purple dress knee length which hid her baby bump no one could tell she was pregnant,a white pair of flat shoes and her hair was curled up,she had done her make up well,though it had been long since she put on her makeup she was still good at it,it was neither light nor heavy just the perfect amount to boost her beauty."Beautiful" Lucas said in inaudible voice his heartbeat increasing he knew Jennie was beautiful but with the added magical touch of make up she was even more beautiful,his eyes not leaving her he checked her out and their was only one word for her 'perfect',this type of Jennie made Lucas fall even harder she looked beautiful,charming and confident.Jennie smiled "do I look good?I wanted to create a good impression,I planned on wearing a maroon dress but since you wore blue I thought purple will look good too" she said Lucas come back to his senses and cleared his throat "you look beautiful,purple suits you well" he said sincerly " thanks,you look handsome too blue does suit you" she said a beautiful smile on her face,Lucas felt warmth spreading in his heart,she seems to like this colour on me,from now on blue will be my favourite,he thought "let's go" he said and both walked out.Lucas drove and they arrived at his grandfather's mansion.

Lucas' grandfather stood outside his mansion holding his walking stick waiting to welcome them,he could have told the butler to wait for them but he was too excited to meet his granddaugher in law,he had stood there for more than thirty minutes and no matter how the butler tried to persuade him to get inside he refused the excitement evident on his smiley face,once Lucas parked his car he quickly walked to the other side of the car and opened the door for her like a gentleman "we should hold hands" he said though it was to make it look like they were both in love Lucas had other intetion,Jennie stretched her hand and Lucas held it,his heart unable to calm down and his brain concentrating on their joint hands,both held hands heading to the mansion,their acting had to be convincing .Lucas and Jennie were shocked to see him waiting for them outside they weren't expecting him to wait for them,he had told his grandfather he was already married and he was bringing his wife to see him as expected he was happy for his grandson but he still had doubts about their marriage "welcome my children" he said happily both Lucas and Jennie quickly headed to where he stood and greeted him respectfully "grandpa why are you standing outside?" asked Lucas concerned "waiting for you of course" he replied,he looked at Jennie "you look familiar" he said getting closer to her,Jennie become nervous and didn't dare raise her head to look at him "have we meet before?" he asked again curiously Lucas seeing she was nervous he squeezed her hand "let's get inside I'll tell you everything" he said and all of them got inside.The house was luxurious not less like Lucas' Villa but because of how nervous she was she didn't dare look around,she had thought it was going to be easy but it was harder than she had thought.They sat on the living room,Lucas and Jennie sat together and his grandfather sat opposite to them "grandpa this is my legal wife Jennifer Louis,she used to be my secretary ,you met her the day you went for a walk and got lost you used praise her alot you even said she should work at the company" Lucas said,his grandpa looked at Jennie and after sometime he stood up walking to where she sat "you're the girl that helped me when I slipped and even cooked delicious food for me?" he asked his eyes brightening "yes" Jennie replied nervously she hoped he won't think negatively about her marrying his only grandson,he was the one who helped her get a job it would be shocking that she ended up marrying his grandson they had different status,he sat next to her and held her hands "so she is the one you married?" he asked not bothered by their differences "yes,we fell in love with each other and decided to get married" Lucas replied "that's good....this is good,I can tell she is a good girl,I hope he doesn't cause you trouble?" he said "no he doesn't" Jennie defended "if he does just tell this old man even if he his my grandson I'll deal with him,Lucas I'm happy she is your wife I was afraid thinking you only got married to get your inheritance but I can see you made the right choice,take care of her she will be a good wife and also a good mother to your kids don't ever loose her,if you hurt her I'll disown you and Jennie Lucas has no one else to rely on except for me,I'm getting old and I won't be able to lessen his burden so please take care of my grandson he is the only family left be there for him and ease his pain,be his strength and love him unconditionally now that you two are married I can finally be assured I won't die without seing my greatgrandkids" he said getting all emotional,once he recognised Jennie his doubts were cleared he believed what they said and his worries were cleared.Jennie smiled bitterly the old man was happy about their marriage but he didn't know their marriage was fake she felt bad about lying to him, he looks extremely happy because of our marriage if he comes to realise it was all lies he will be heartbroken,she thought.Lucas looked at her and held her hand,Jennie might think their marriage was fake but Lucas was determined to make it real,he was going to make her fall in love with him and stay with him.

"What about your parents where are they? we should meet them" he said,Jennie looked at him and clenched her fist,pain appeared on her eyes and quickly vanished she didn't know what to say she didn't want to lie she was an orphan,she had already told him lies she didn't want to add up,Lucas' grandfather looked at her hurt expression and her clenched fist and he quickly understood "there is no hurry we can meet them later somedays" he said "Lucas about your inheritance?" he asked,Lucas looked at his grandfather nervously he had waited for this moment but instead of being happy he felt nothing except fear,Jennie looked at him anxious,she too was waiting for this moment she was supposed to be happy he was going to get his inheritance and soon she too will get what she wants but she wasn't happy at all,Lucas' grandfather looked at them confused "don't you want your inheritance?" he asked Lucas cleared his throat, it's now or never he thought "since I was supposed to get my inheritance once I'm thirty I'll have it on my 30th birthday as a birthday gift" he said and looked at Jennie nervously to see her reaction whether she was offended or not,their deal was to get divorced once he gets his inheritance but she had not fallen in love with him,he pushed his inheritance so that they can still stay together so that she can fall in love with him before his birthday,their relationship had improved alot he hoped she would fall for him before his birthday ,Jennie had a calm expression but her heart was beating wildly,she didn't know why but she felt happy that he still won't be getting his inheritance,the thought of getting a divorce made her feel unhappy,she was now used to relying on him that she grew an attachment towards him,she was used to being alone and independent but that changed when she moved in with him.

"It's settled then,lets go have our meals" he said and both headed to the dining table,Lucas and Jennie were shocked seeing the amount of food prepared for them,he had asked his chef to prepare all kinds of foods for them "grandpa isn't this a little too much?" asked Lucas as he pushed the chair for Jennie "it's not much,this feast is for welcoming my granddaughter in law" he said and sat on the head's chair.They ate while chatting happily like a complete and happy family,Lucas' phone vibrated but he ignored it.Once they were done his grandfather left them alone he had an appointment with his doctor,they were to wait for him and have diner together,Lucas was taking Jennie for a walk showing her around he had told the bodyguards in the mansion to give them privacy "are you mad at me?I'm sorry I was supposed to get my inheritance today but in order to make grandpa believe us more I pushed it forward so he doesn't think we are here for inheritance" he lied "I understand,I'm just glad everything went well" she said.At a tall building opposite the mansion,a man stood at the rooftop wearing black clothes his face completely covered,he was snipper he held his MAS FR-F2 in his hand aiming at the target,his aim was clear and he held the trigger counting to three he pressed the trigger.Both Lucas and Jennie were unaware someone was targeting them,because of his training Lucas sense of hearing was good he felt the gush of wind approaching Jennie and he immediately knew what was about to happen the bullet was supposed to hit Jennie but he quickly pushed her out of the way and the bullet hit him on his chest.He fell on the ground unconscious,Jennie looked at him in horror "LUCAS.." she screamed.
