At country X,at Louis construction company,a meeting was being held in the board room by the board of directors with the CEO of Louis construction.The mood was tense and serious,"for the past one month the company hasn't been doing great would mind explaining?" said one of the directors,he had a big belly and a big moustache,they all looked at Mr Louis.He cleared his throat "every business had it's up and downs,I know this isn't a good excuse but I promise to give better results soon" he replied."How?ever since that scandal about your daughter got to the media we haven't been able to secure a good contracts,only small contract worth nothing d
have you forgotten that were are the biggest construction company in the country?the companies reputation lies mostly on the CEO,how do you expect to do better?taking those articles down didn't help,what's your new plan?" asked another director with a serious face that looked intimidating.Mr Louis didn't respond,the the mention of his daughter was his sore sport,seeing he won't reply "seems you don't have a plan I think it's best you hand over the company" said another director.
Mr Louis wasn't suprised by this,ever since his daughter left or ever since he disowned his daughter the board of directors had been pressuring him to hand over his company to his son."You should think about the company,the employees and also our clients and make a wise decision,we shouldn't suffer just because you still want to be the CEO,you shouldn't be selfish" said the big bellied director.Truth to be said he was the one who had convience other directors to change the CEO,he and Jacob had a deal once he convience the other board members he would be rewarded handsomely,he didn't have anything against the current CEO he was just ambitious and greedy for more money and power."All of you have witnessed how far have brought this company,I would be the last person to want the company to decline because of my selfishness,if this company closes down I'll be the one who suffers the most I have the highest shares of this company,it's not like I don't want to hand over the company,I just haven't found a suitable person to replace me" Mr Louis said."What about your son?,he has worked in this company for sometime now,I think he is suited to be the CEO or don't you trust him?" asked another director.Mr Louis didn't know how to answer him,he once trusted his son but knowing what he had been doing behind his back he didn't think it was a good idea to hand over his company to him.Being ambitious is okay but hurting others and even going against your own father and scheming to overthrow his position that wasn't right,that wasn't ambition it was greed and he knew how dangerous greed is.If he allowed his son to take over he didn't know what will happen to his company,he didn't want his hard work to go to waste,now more than ever he regretted disowning his own daughter,if he cared for her,she would still be with them,she knew how hardworking and smart she was,he would have preferred to hand over his company to her than his own son but now it was too late,he had to make a decision which will affect the company either negatively or positively.
"I trust him but he isn't ready to take over" he said," but we talked to him and he said he was ready to take the responsibilities,my advice as a board member and also as your friend you should just hand over the company to your son,he is your son I'm sure he can manage with your guidance and help,I heard of lately your wife has been sick,it's good you stay with her until she recovers,it will be hard on you to look after the company and your sick wife,it's better if for now you take a step back and hand over the company to your son or if your son isn't suitable you can find someone else to take over and once the dust settles down you can come back we trust in your capabilities" said another board member,he was the most respected among all the board memebers ,he was old and very intelligent,he was never biased."Think about it and tell us your decision in the next board meeting" he added.
At country Y,Jennifer was feeling anxious and nervous,she had made the decision in haste but now she was having some doubts but she couldn't go back on her words.She had agreed to sign the marriage contract but now thinking about it,what if this marriage brought her unnecessary troubles,she wanted to stay in a peaceful environment and deliver her baby in a comfortable and suitable environment,she was going to marry her boss,what about her work will they work at the company together?,how will she address him?,are they going to live together?when will they divorce?,what about her baby?,many questions were crossing her mind and she couldn't help but sigh,she took a shower and wore a beautiful white dress she didn't have any other option she took a taxi and headed to their meeting place.Lucas wore a black suit he looked handsome as usual,he kept checking his wrist watch he was anxious will,she back out of their agreement he wondered "relax man she will come maybe she is just running late" comforted the man after seeing how anxious he was.There was a knock in the door and Jennie walked in,"sorry I'm late" she apologised the two men sighed in relief "have a sit" he said and pulled a chair for her "thanks" she said."So before we start I'll introduce myself I'm Edward,Mr Lucas lawyer so miss Louis have you agreed to sign the documents?and is there a condition you want to give before signing?" asked Edward.Jennie shook her head "okay then what about you Mr Lucas?" Lucas also shook his head,"fine I'll read out loud the conditions you both agreed on,your marriage will be kept a secret only those close to you have the right to know,so miss Louis you can tell your family or close friends but no one else,you will respect each others privacy,you won't meddle in each others affair unless you both agree to,you can't have another relationship when you two are still married,do you agree with these?" he asked and both nodded,"okay,miss Louis you can read the contract to confirm afterwards you two sign here,if incase you want to change something you two can talk about it,you can choose to ignore these conditions if you two agree on it,I hope there won't be a problem" he said handing the documents to her,she read the contract and was satisfied with it.
The two signed the contract and their marriage certificate,"also Lucas told me he was going to fulfil a promise he had made but I didn't get time to change the contract,I'm sure he will keep his word but if he doesn't you can come to me,I'll help you sue him" he said with a smile,Jennie smiled she knew he won't refuse to help her,they had made the deal she had done her part when the right time comes he will do his part."Now you're both husband and a wife,Mr and Mrs Lucas" he said, a smile appeared on Lucas' face,now step one was done a few more steps and she will be his."I'll drive you home" he said and Jennie nodded "first let's go eat something I'm hungry" he added and Jennie agreed,after their meal they went to Jennie's apartment "I think you should pack your belongings we will be living together" Lucas said and Jennie looked at him suprised,Lucas smiled nervously "we are married,couples lives together,if we don't grandpa will doubt us" he said and Jennie thought it was a good idea,they should live together to make it more believable it won't be for long though after he gets his inheritance they will divorce.Lucas helped her pack the necessary things she needed,he had everything in his villa but she had to carry her personal belongings and both drove to his villa.Jennie was shocked seeing how big and beautiful the villa was "welcome home" he said,"thanks,it's really beautiful you live here with your grandfather?" she asked "I'm glad you liked it,I live alone" he said "grandpa lives in his own mansion,he refused to stay here saying he can't abandon his house".Lucas called and two men wearing black suits come and carried her luggages "this are my men,for security purposes ,they won't bother you" "okay" she replied.Indeed Lucas was a billionaire the house,the cars parked in his parking lot,the security everything was perfect and well organised "come" he said heading inside the villa.If Jennie was suprised seeing the exterior of the villa now she was double shocked seeing the interior, walls were well painted,the furniture was well made with not so bright colors,the tv flat screen was the biggest and longest she had ever seen,she was amazed and Lucas seeing this he felt proud of himself.
"You can relax here,I know you're tired,what juice would you want?" he asked,Jennie was thinking what to say "Apple juice is it fine?" and Jennie nodded,she was suprised that he had juice in his house,she thought men only had wines and all alcoholic drinks what she didn't know was that she was right Lucas never had juice in his house he had bought them when she had agreed to sign the contract for her sake since she was pregnant.Lucas went to the kitchen and brought an Apple juice and gave it to her,"tomorrow I'll show you around the house now you're tired ,I'll take you to your room you should rest I'll call you when it's dinner time" he said,Jennie was tired after drinking the juice Lucas took her to her room.Jennie was amazed how big the room was,everything was big the tv,bed,wardrobe she didn't expect this "is this my room?" she asked "well yeah,it was my room but now it's yours " he said,Jennie looked at him confused "your room?" she asked "yeah,your clothes are in the wardrobe,I'm sorry for this but since we want our marriage to be believable we have to share a room,don't worry I'll sleep in the couch you can sleep in the bed,I don't want my grandpa to know we sleep in a separate room some of the men you saw outside work for him,he said it was for my sake,if he know we sleep in different rooms he will doubt us so please bear with me,I promise I'll only be sleeping in this room,I'll take some of my clothes to the guest room" he explained nervously,he hoped she would agree but if she refused he won't force her.Jennie thought it for some time and nodded her head,they're only sharing a room nothing else,she will only have to be careful besides she was pregnant there is no way something might happen between them,though she had been betrayed by people she trusted she hoped he will be different,she knew he won't be interested in her the reason they were married was for their own goals."okay" she said and Lucas sighed in relief "take a shower and rest,the towels are in the wardrobe,if you need anything just call me I'll be in the sitting room" he said and left,he had lied when he said some of the men were working for his grandfather,the men in his villa all worked for him,none would ever betray him or say something he shouldn't,he was just making an excuse to share a room with her,if he had asked her she might have refused but using his grandfather was a better choice she didn't doubt him,step two was done a few more to go,everything is fair in love and war who would blame him.
