Changes (chapter 11)
It was 10:20 am when Jennie woke up,she felt tired and sore all over,she groaned as she sat on the bed,her all body was covered with hickeys.She was shocked,her heart beat increased while she recalled what had happened to her.She remembered getting away from Ben and going into someone's room,the door wasn't closed so she entered in a stranger's room,she remembered kissing the man but the other memories were blurry.She laughed at the situation she was in but soon her laughter turned into sobbing bitterly.She thought that as long as she escaped from Ben,she will be fine but it seemed her fate was much worse.They had succeeded in destroying her,they got what they wanted,they must be celebrating on how unlucky she was she kept on sobbing,she felt suffocated and couldn't breath well,her pain immeasurable."Why me?why does it always have to be me?what have I ever done to deserve this?who did I ever offend?it's always like this, why was I even born so unlucky?don't I deserve to be happy and respect?,to be loved?I'm a human with emotions why can't they love me and treat me well?" she said sobbing bitterly.
She trusted them but all she got was betrayal in return,she never would have imagined they could hurt her in this way,she though they could mend their friendship,they said they wanted to start all over again but it was a fat lie.She had doubts about their intentions but she decided to give them a chance maybe things would go back like the way they used to be,they were once her friends, she thought she could have her friends back.Her mistake was to trust them again even after everything they had done to her,she was ready to forgive them but the problem was that they weren't sorry and they would hurt her all over again given the chance.She looked and the table and saw the money placed there,she laughed as tears fell down her cheeks,this was who she had become,she felt shame and disgusted with herself,she felt dirty and tainted never to be clean and pure again,she stayed on the same position for almost two hours before she decided to take a shower and go home.She walked out slowly inside her parents house,she was in pain but supresed it and tried to walk like normal,her eyes were red and puffy due to all the crying.Jacob was sitting on the coach watching a football match,if it was other days she would have greeted him but now she was not in her right state of mind,even she couldn't explain how she got home she was in deep thought since she left the club.She went direct to her room, Jacob was suprised by her abnormal behaviour but since he was so focused on the match he decided to not question her.
Jennie got into her room and locked herself inside,she lied on the bed,the sceens of the night kept on playing on her mind,she tried to forget about it but she couldn't.She tried to guess who could have been the man she spent the night with but she didn't see his face clearly."Maybe he thought I was a hooker,but now there is no difference between them and me,he even left money on the table,like he was paying me for the services" she said in a low voice.She would have never imagined that her life would turn out like this,what happened to her was so embarrassing that she can't even tell anyone what had happened to her.Jennie didn't know whe she fell asleep maybe it was due to exhaustion but she slept soundly,she heard a very loud knock on her door,she was sleepy so she decided to ignore it.Jacob kept on knocking on her door but still there was no response.He threated to break the door but she didn't answer,he was suprised by her behaviour,she never behaved like that with him,she was scared of him and very obedient,she would always answer when he called her .He got tired and left,after he left Jennie put on her headphones and started listening to music,she didn't care what her brother was planning to do.
At diner time the three of them,Mr and Mrs Louis and Jacob sat on the dining table,Jennie was not there."Where is your sister" asked Mr Louis with unpleased look on his face "she is in her room" replied Jacob."Is she sick?" Mr Louis thought maybe the reason her daughter was not there was because she was sick,he couldn't think of other reason why she wasn't there.Jacob shook his head and said looking at his father "I don't think so, yesterday after going to a party,she came today almost at 1:00pm she didn't spend the night here,when she came she locked herself in her room I thought she was tired and let her be,but she didn't came out of her room since then" he explained." After dinner go call her to my study I need to talk to her" he said,Jacob nooded his head in agreement.Mrs Louis was in deep thoughts she wondered what could have happened for her daughter to lock herself in her room, something must have happened but she didn't know what.
The servants prepared their diner instead of Jennie,they were served and ate in silence Mrs Louis didn't eat much she didn't have appetite,she wanted to go and check up on her daughter but she was unable to.After diner Mrs Louis went to her bedroom,Jacob was in the sitting room watching a movie,Mr Louis went to her daughter's room and knocked,there was no response she called out her name,after sometime Jennie opened the door she was in bad shape."What's wrong?" he asked looking at her daughter "nothing" she replied with a hoarse voice."You look like you have been crying what happened I heard you were at a party?" Jennie looked at her father with hurt in her eyes."Since when did you start to care for me?" she asked,Mr Louis was surprised by her daughter's question " I'm your father of course I care for you?" he said .Jennie laughed at her father's response "you never cared about me,you only care about your son and reputation,you never loved me like your daughter,to you am just a disappointment,that's why I try my best so that you will be proud of me,but dad have you ever tried your best so that I can be proud of you?" she said with tears in her eyes.Mr Louis was speechless this is the first time her daughter made him feel bad."Dad if you had tried to love me and acknowledge me I wouldn't have suffered the way I do,I wouldn't have had to endure humiliation so as to be loved and accepted,I wouldn't have been mocked and bullied by others so easily,but if my father and family can't love and acknowledge me what more of a stranger,dad you have ruined me" she said heartbroken.Mr Louis knew she didn't treat her daughter well,even when he knew she was bullied he did nothing,that's why people knew that she was unfavoured by her family so they easily bullied her,if he had tried to care and protect her this wouldn't have happened to her,not many could go against Mr Louis,if she was favoured by her father people would have feared and respect her.He stood there motionless listening to everything her daughter said."You never cared so don't pretend like you do" with that Jennie closed the door.Mr Louis stood there in thoughts he knew something had happened to her daughter and she looked different and changed.Her eyes weren't as bright as usual and there was anger and hurt in her eyes,he turned around and left thoughts unknown.
