Shock spilt across my face as realization slammed right into me.
'How did she-!'
"You look confused, and so am I."
*Ba-Dump*
My throat felt as though it were completely raw, while my voice could not be mustered to speak above a whisper.
"You're confused as to how I knew that you were thinking of betraying me. I, however, am confused as to why you would have such THOUGHTS IN MY PRESENCE!"
Tyvelia practically roared the last words, the cavern shuddering not at the boom of her voice, but the incomprehensible weight that was brought with them.
*Ba-Dump*
I simply couldn't move under it. If I could barely crawl before, I was now frozen in place like some insect under a floodlight.
"Why, why, WHY WOULD YOU BELIEVE I AM GULLIBLE IN ANY WAY!?! MY AGE ISN'T JUST A NUMBER YOU FOOL!"
Every syllable slammed into me like a brick, slowly crushing me under their weight.
*CRAK!!!*
"AARRGGGGHHH!"
I screamed as some of my ribs began to snap under the pressure. My teeth began to pierce further back into my gums as I was pinned to the floor. Hot tears sprung from my eyes as I truly believed I might just die this time.
*Ba-Dump!*
The throbbing sharp pain in my chest dulled as my heart began to beat once again. Perhaps if I…
Pushing through my misty vision, I tried to grasp at what I had felt when I had healed Scola. However, all I found was fear.
*BLAM!*
A sharp crack resounded throughout the cave as Tyvelia stepped on my back. It had been little more than a light tap, however the pressure she exuded multiplied it a hundred fold.
I grit my blooded teeth as I could let out little more than a whimper.
"My age is a warning. Living this long in a world this cruel is nothing but a privilege endured by the strong. And for those who are so foolish they cannot read between the lines, I have my title. However soooooomehow you could do NEITHER!"
Unlike before, where her words crushed me like a devastating weight, they now hissed and bit into my flesh.
Pain pierced me as I lost focus on my power once again as I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Listen to me well, as I will only say this once. It is a warning I have never given to anyone before. A privilege only you have been granted. Never, EVER, believe I am that gullible again."
She then stepped off my back and returned to her throne, as though she hadn't nearly ground me into powder moments ago. She placed her fingers to her forehead as she sighed
"You agreed to be mine. Any betrayal will always be answered with retribution. That is what it meant to become mine."
Tendrils formed from within the shadows, wrapping around my shattered body. Unlike before, they were warm and soft, like a summers night. The pressure and piercing wrath was gone. My jaw hung slack as I sucked in ragged breaths.
Tyvelia stood up from her throne again, walking away as the dark tendrils lifted my limp body off the ground.
They then followed behind her, entering the caves alone as my blank mind slowly began to form thoughts once more.
I couldn't move, let alone even speak. As delirium clouded my mind, I once again tried to activate the power I had felt earlier during those terrifying moments.
Unable to move, I simply scoured my memories within the dark shroud of Tyvelia's grasp. The only sounds being the clack of her feet and the ragged hoarse breaths I took.
*Ba-Dump*
Deep within me, I felt my heart begin to beat once again, slowly but surely setting it's pace. This heart was not the heart as I knew it.
*Ba-Dump*
It was different. This heart did not pump blood. It did not set the rhythm within. It allowed something different to flow.
*Ba-Dump*
"Em…n?"
A wheezing breath brought with it fragments of my thought as I focused on my heart. What it offered made me want to shrink away in my mind. It caused me to shudder and shiver. This heart of mine pumped fear.
*Ba-Dump*
'But does that matter?'
Perhaps it was the delirium. Perhaps it was simply blind courage. However whatever I had done, I decided to finish reaching out anyways.
*BA-THUMP!*
I grasped at my fear, memories of pain, disgrace, and desperation began filling me as I held on. It blew away the delirium clouding my thoughts, causing me to waver in grasping my power. However, enshrouded in the warm grasp of Tyvelia, I held on.
*BA-THUMP!*
This fear stemmed from how alien I was in this world. How cruel and crude it's inhabitants acted.
This was the root of the power I sought. A primal fear that drove me back.
'But that doesn't matter, I need that power.'
A single simple thought pushed me to grasp it.
The root of this fear that weighed me down and crushed me constantly.
And pull out a pure green glow.

Tyvelia finally reached the healing pool, bringing the tendrils that carried Deus's limp, broken, body.
As they unraveled and lowered him into the dimly lit waters, just as the first ripple rolled over the waters surface, she noticed something. Though his mouth was bloody, all the damage he suffered was gone.
Tentatively, she reached towards his jacket, carefully pulling down the zipper and lifting his shirt. His chest no longer had the dark purple bruises where his ribs had shattered. She trace her fingers along his once broken form, feeling nothing but muscle and clean skin.
She grimaced as she remembered what she had done, however steeled herself before regret could seep into her psyche.
'I will not let you leave me. Not when you have already offered your body to me. So perhaps, next I will have you offer me your mind.'
As she began to lower him once again, she felt something odd through her hand.
*Ba-Dump*
She shivered as goosebumps ran up her arm. A noxious feeling flowed up through her arm and tethered itself to her heart and mind, almost intoxicating her on the spot.
What was it that called out to her so?
She didn't know.
She knew of love and matters of the heart but this was not her emotions. This was a raw drive to consume him. To make him completely hers inside and out.
"This human must be mine."
Her mouth split her face open in a wide smile from ear to ear as jagged teeth rose behind curling lips.
"No matter the cost."
Is Tyvelia a villain?
This is a question I suppose many of you have after what she did to mc.
However that really is up to you. I won't make her an explicit villain of any kind. She will do both good and bad things, and will mostly sit in the moral gray of the story. So don't label her just yet.
