Coven of the Round

In the aftermath of a mysterious fog that engulfed Earth, Jiang, a low-rank soldier, patrols the base with his partner, Smith. This base was not where Jiang was assigned, so he is unhappy with being forced to survive with these strangers. After a few weeks, Jiang and Smith encounter a strange storm and are transformed by it. As he gets used to his new abilities, Jiang finds that the base has strange secrets all around. Especially when he discovers that there are others like him. His future incarnations would all carry his blood, memories, and abilities to implement his will throughout the ages. This would mark the beginning of the bitter struggle between humanity and the vampires. A story with generations that tells the fall from modern times to when kingdoms would rise again. Wolf Attack II

"Get off!" Every time Jiang tried to attack the smaller wolf, the bigger one would vigorously prevent him from doing so. The bigger wolf was fighting him in all honesty, way more aggressively than the others had.

"Enough of this! I don't have time for you!" With all his might, Jiang pushed his left hand upwards, raising the wolf's head and exposing its neck. Jiang reached and took a huge bite, he drank as much as he could in the few moments his fangs made contact.

To finally kill it, Jiang punched through its body until he reached its heart and crushed it with his right hand. He threw its body off of him and it crashed into an abandoned car as the sound of shattering glass and metal could be heard.

The wolves had relied on their numbers but their prey had something terrifying among them. The small wolf learned a valuable lesson that day as it's mother was flung far away. It ran in fear with wounds that would scar it for the rest of it's days.

Jiang immediately ignored the escaping small wolf, most likely still a young one, and headed straight for the gas station. It wasn't even a choice, though something else had escaped with his blood, his comrades were in danger.

When he got close enough, he noticed that there were still four wolves and they were throwing themselves against the glass.

Jiang took out a flash bang and threw it a little above the roof of the gas station, so that his team wouldn't be affected by it as much.

"Awwoo!?" It was extremely effective, their eyes had not seen direct light for so long and the flash bang's light was refracted among the numerous water particles.

"Jiang, get clear!"

They had formed a firing line and started to fire at the wolves gathered right outside the store front. When the sounds of firing stopped, there were three dead corpses. One wolf was still barely alive and tried to limp away.

They all reached for their side arms since their magazines were empty from the continuous firing, but it wasn't needed.

*BANG*

A single shot rang out and hit the last wolf right in the head, but only Jiang could see where his shot landed. Jiang had leaped back to his rifle and thankfully his allies were able to fend them off in time.

Though Jiang had multiple fresh blood sources, he had to abandon them in order to avoid their suspicions. He would once again have to make due with what he got from the wolf he threw. Fortunately, his <Blood Loss> status seemed to have finally disappeared.

"Guys! It's me, don't shoot!" Jiang called out as he approached the gas station covered in dirt and blood.

"Stand down!" Laban lowered his weapon first and the rest followed.

"Damn! Jiang, you look like battered shit!" Ibarra remarked as Anders and Gagnon nodded in agreement.

They quickly ushered Jiang into the back of the station, the front was covered in fog but lucky there was a door separating the front from the back. Anders quickly stuffed some towels to block the bottom of the door just in case.

Jiang dropped his armor and rifle near the bench as Lt. Ma started to check him over for his wounds. While this was going on, Sergeant Laban proceeded to berate Jiang with all kinds of flowery language.

"What in the f-"

"I have never seen…"

"Where the f-"

"Not in all my years have I had…"

"Who the f-"

"And another thing…"

"Why in the f-"

"Do you really believe…"

"When the f-"

Jiang would never be not genuinely impressed, the Sgt was yelling as if it was something that was a part of his being. Forget Beethoven and Mozart, Sergeant Laban was truly a master in the art of chewing someone out. But not only quality, the quantity of his "performance" was something to be marveled at too.

"In conclusion, I'd demote you if I could but there's literally no more rank to take. What do you have to say for yourself!?" Laban said with eyes seething with anger.

Jiang waited for a second in case Laban was going to continue, sometimes the higher ups loved throwing out rhetorical questions.

"I saw multiple wolves lining up near the glass and I had to take a chance to lead them away. The rest of you had yet to put on the gas masks, so I did what I thought was best at the moment, Sir!"

"Don't pull this shit anymore! You're on a team! Lt., how's he looking!?"

"You better hope those wolves had the Fog virus and not rabies! You've got so many bite wounds! Lucky for you, I brought plenty of suture thread. This is going to take a minute, so everyone just go back to sleep." Ma sighed as he opened up his medical bag and reached for the thread, the needle, and some disinfectant.

"No, sow him back up quick doc. But don't skimp out on making good stitches." Laban shook his head as he conducted an analysis on his weapon.

"It'll hurt."

"Good! If fear of death isn't your thing, how about pain then?"

"Pain is how I know I'm still living sir." Jiang cracked a pained smile as Ma quickly displayed his skills on his wounds.

"You're not that messed up if you can talk back, we'll move as soon as Lt, is finished." Laban smirked in response to Jiang's quip.

After half an hour, Jiang's wounds were all stitched up and he had changed into a uniform that wasn't torn to shreds.

"Move your arm, move your hand, now your finger."

"Nope, looks like they work too." Jiang responded as Ma completed the last of his range of motion checks.

"Are you sure you're going to be fine?" Laban asked with a concerned look as he looked at the bloody rags that used to be Jiang's old uniform.

"I'm as fine as I can get, sir."

"You look like Frankenstein's new monster with all those threads in you." Anders laughed as he pointed to the sealed wounds on Jiang's forearm.

"You're lucky Jiang, somehow you got a lot of flesh wounds that bled a lot. But there was nothing too deep."

"Yea… lucky. I'm still young so you know, our bodies heal a little quicker." Jiang said as he watched Ma pour disinfectant over the medical tools he had just used.
