The Shadows That Follow

A pair of eyes looked down at the passing soldiers led by Buddy. Buddy muttered to himself quietly as he looked around.

"Where would Friedrich hide… Friedrich-"

"Sir! One of the soldiers inspecting the town, has returned, they found a stable under the name of Friedrich."

"Yes! Finally, a break!" Buddy jumped in joy before standing like a proper officer once more, clearing his throat looking to the solider that had returned to him. "Were there any clues inside that might lead us to him?"

"Yes sir. A map of locations, seemingly hunting loges."

Buddy began to mutter to himself, "He has mentioned hunting near here before…"

"Sir, there is a loge near here... Would they go there?"

He nodded before looking to the forest that was just outside the town. "Let's find that demon… and Friedrich!"

The pair of eyes that watched them seemed to get a wicked look before taking out a communicator. "My Empress… They have found a lead."

"Perfect… Follow their lead. You will have a far easier time if you must fight the demon, do not disappoint me." The General said sternly.

The door swung open with a bang, armed soldiers running through one after another. Quickly searching the house top and bottom. Reporting soon after they had found no one inside the house. Buddy sighed softly as he looked around outside. Quickly noticing a bright colorful patch of flowers.

"I do believe we might have possibly missed them. Let's return to base and report to General Diaspora."

The pair of eyes watched them leave before the heavy armored person leapt to the ground with ease. Making its way over to the colorful flowers and feeling of them, making them turn into a gray color as its very touch seemed to drain the flowers of all life. Standing straight and walking towards the loge. The grass underneath it drained of its life as it withered and turned gray. It walked into the loge with ease as the door was still missing. It walked into the kitchen before noticing the leftover fruit on the table, picking it up before walking back outside.

It walked out where the flowers once where before dropping the fruit down onto the ground. The area around the fruit grew to be concealed in darkness. Then, images of Luna and Friedrich appeared. Their voices very clear…

"They are even more colorful and beautiful…" Friedrich's voice began to echo throughout the dark veil over them.
