22 09 - Furious Ning'er
At the door while the meeting / interrogation was taking place, stood 3 figures. One was the patriarch of the Sacred Family, Shen Hong while the others were Xiao Ning'er, and of course everyone's favorite loli, Xiao Bai who was currently in human form. Both girls were of course wearing a mask to prevent their identity from being revealed as it is still beneficial for them to hide their strength. Well, that is the case for Ning'er at least... Xiao Bai just wanted to be in human after so long.
"Hmph, what are two little girls doing here? Step aside, I don't have time to play house with you!" said Shen Hong in an authoritative as not expecting any resistance at all even going as far as releasing some of his aura to intimidate said little girls. He of course held back a lot as these girls seem to have 'no cultivation' at all it seems. It would be bad for him to kill people that belongs to the City Lord Mansion after all.
Seeing no reaction from the girls, Shen Hong harrumphed and continued walking towards the door believing that the girls were too 'frightened' to have been able to say anything back. Just as he was about to walk past them however, Shen Hong felt a tiny palm touched his cheek and then his body smashed into the ground.
"!!!" What...? What happened? Why was he, a peak Black Gold rank expert, suddenly being slapped into the ground? Could he be a fake expert? What were all those years he spent on cultivating? It was then that Shen Hong heard the faint of a little girl giggling. Turning his head over, he saw the little loli laughing at him... and even pointing a finger...! This of course immediate sent Shen Hong into rage.
"You! Who was it? The one that sneaked attack on me!" Rising to his feet, Shen Hong immediately scanned the area yet even after a long while, there wasn't even a shadow of a mouse to be found. The thought that the culprit being one of those two little girls of course never even entered his mind. The only way after all, for Shen Hong to not be able to sense someone's cultivation is either they are stronger than him or that they have no cultivation whatsoever.
The idea that two little girls being stronger than he, who was at the peak of Black Gold rank is just so ridiculous he can't even laugh at it. The only answer then would a third party that's hidden themselves. Still seeing no one even after waiting for awhile, Shen Hong confidently said "I am the Patriarch of the Sacred Family, Shen Hong! I am also here for the meeting between family heads with the City Lord! Whoever you are, let me through or you'll be hearing from the City Lord himself!"
After saying what he wanted, he once again began walking towards the door intending to pass the girls once more. Shen Hong was confident that after giving out his identity, he would be allowed passage unimpeded from this hidden expert. Just as he was about to walk pass the girls again however, he was once again smacked into the floor. This time, he even skidded away for a couple meters.
At that development, Shen Hong's first reaction was shock which then turned into rage. How dare this person... to not give him, the Sacred Family Head, any face! Even after giving out his identity as well! If that is the way you want it... then so be it! With a growl, Shen Hong rose to his feet and immediately merged with his demon spirit, the sacred flaming condor, and got ready for battle.
(I have to make it to that meeting at all costs! The consequences would be dire otherwise!) thought Shen Hong as he raised his energy to its peak... or at least he was going to. All of a sudden Xiao Bai appeared in front of him with a fist raised, covered in lightning, and slammed straight into his gut. That simple attack with no finesse whatsoever simply tore through straight his defense and sent Shen Hong flying away once more into the nearby wall.
"I-impossible!" uttered out Shen Hong as he spat out some blood. He simply couldn't believe what he was seeing! All this time, he thought it was some hidden expert! It turned out... the hidden expert was that little girl all along!
Normally, a Demon Spiritualist that's merged with their demon spirit would be many times stronger than a 'Fighter' like that of Xiao Bai. There are however exceptions to everything and this time is one of them! Even though her cultivation realm is below to that of Shen Hong, her Sacred Beast blood raised her strength to equal that of a peak Legend Rank expert! Any disadvantage she might have had as a normal 'Fighter' was fully negated by their vast difference in strength.
"Old man, be good and stay down... Boss promised me a good meal if I stop people from going to that meeting you see. So for the sake of my food, quit resisting!" exclaimed Xiao Bai haughtily. Shen Hong who heard such a ridiculous reason spat out some blood again and shakily stood up. The... the future of my Family... might be ruined... because of a meal? A simple meal!? Unforgivable!
With even more determination this time, Shen Hong got ready to charge in for an attack however, before he could, the door to the meeting room opened and a voice interrupted his charge.
"ENOUGH! Shen Hong, why are you raising a ruckus in MY City Lord Mansion?" asked a somewhat controlled, but furious Ye Zong. On the inside however, he was extremely and cautious of those two girls. Just who are they? And what is their relationship with that kid, Fang Lin? To be able to hold down Shen Hong who is at the peak of Black Gold rank like himself that easily is no simple feat...
"City Lord... I was simply trying to go into the meeting room when these two... rogues! had to the gal to stop me! I demand an answer for this!" yelled out Shen Hong, his tone indignant and filled with fury. At Shen Hong's confrontational words, Ye Zong merely snorted and answered "You have no right to demand ME, the City Lord of anything! There was only a minor discussion that doesn't involve your Sacred Family and so you weren't invited. That's all there is to it. Now leave at once."
At the answer given, Shen Hong could only grip his fists hard and cursed in his heart. Damn it! Was he too late after all? In that case, he must prepare his family in case the worse possibilities happen!
"I see... my apologies then. I'll show myself out to the door." After saying so, Shen Hong left without any fanfare. Fang Lin who was there ever since Ye Zong came out, suddenly spoke "It seems he's going to prepare himself and his family... Seems we must also hasten our own preparations as well..."

After everyone left in order to make their preparations for the upcoming storm in Glory City, so too did Ning'er and Xiao Bai whose already returned to her cat form. Before Ning'er could make back to her room however, she was interrupted by a servant relaying the message that Ning'er is being summoned by the clan head and elders. Wondering what they wanted, she simply shrugged and went over.
What happened next was of course all the elders being bossy, forcing her to hand over the all the 'Purple Haze Grass' she's bought. If it was just that it wouldn't have really affected her much however, those elders actually dared to threaten Ning'er and the one she's given the 'Purple Haze Grass' to, which is Fang Lin were she not willing to hand over the stuff.
While normally, such a threat would have been meaningless as anyone of their trio could easily destroy a threat level from a weak power like the Winged Dragon Family, this time however, Ning'er was still a bit stressed with the whole Dark Guild thing. This in turn, reawakened all the memories of her sufferings by the hands of these greedy elders, that she had been ignoring for awhile now. Years of resentment erupted at this moment!
"Shut... UP!" shouted Ning'er. Due to her emotional stress, she immediately soul formed and fully released her Legend rank Soul Force. The stone floor shattered and debris were ground into dust. Immediately, everyone in the room save for Xiao Bai felt a suffocating pressure pressing down on them from all sides! With their difference in strength, there was no way for them to resist and so everyone spat out some blood while the pressure... is still continuing to increase!
(Impossible! She was this powerful!?) was the thought of everyone currently in the room. Seeing this sudden turn of event, Xiao Bai immediately spoke "Big sis, stop! You might kill everyone at this rate!" What Xiao Bai felt on the inside however... was that they were better off dead. How dare they try to bully big sis and boss... hmph.
Hearing Xiao Bai's voice, Ning'er immediately let loose the pressure and started calming down. That sudden release made her felt so much more refresh however. Glancing around the room, she noticed everyone is now sporting a fearful look on their faces. "Everyone... absolutely nothing happened just now... right?" Suddenly said Ning'er while giving out a beautiful smile. No one in that room were fooled however as they... that if they didn't agree to keep their mouth shut, they would definitely suffer, very badly! Everyone of course nodded to her words hastily.
"Hm, well then... I'll be staying over at a friends place for awhile. I trust... there won't be any objections?" once again 'asked' Ning'er with the ever present smile still on her face. And to no one's surprise, everyone hastily nodded once again, praying to every deity out there to have this little demoness leave already! Due to the sudden shock in development and the terror they now faced, no one even thought it strange the little cat that Ning'er always carry around had spoked human tongue.
Giving the group one long look, and seemingly satisfied with what she found, Ning'er just turned around and left without looking back. Everyone in the room heaved a relief sigh after her silhouette disappeared from their sight. Phew... what the hell was that!? Was that... really the Ning'er that they knew before? It's almost like a totally different person!
Ning'er on the other hand was uncaring of the group of elders' feelings and currently facing a dilemma of her own. (Where am I going to stay now...? Should I go to Yun'er's place?... or maybe... Fang Lin?) At that last thought, she couldn't help but blush beet red while increasing her walking pace.
