15 : Confession

"What the heck are you doing?" Steve raise his head to see the owner of the voice hoping he just hallucinate when he heard Dave's voice.

But to Steve disappointment, it is really Dave who talk and block Franz's hand. His eyes throwing dagger to the guy. If glare can kill Franz probably laying on the ground now, breathless. Franz tried to get his hand back but Dave's holding him too tight. He looked at him with a terrified look.

"How can he be this strong?" Franz thought. He's sure one punch from Dave can knock him down. Is he always this strong? He thought Dave's a weakling who have guts because his mom is a teacher here. It's embarassing how his hand tremble. It's irritating how he can't stop it, how he felt terror just like a kid. This whole situation is a shit.

Minutes pass but Dave's grip didn't budge even Franz use his full force, "Fuck, get off!"

Franz shouted making the bullied flinched. Steve wanted to walk away from this awkward situation and help the student who he thought is traumatize but Dave whose left arm is free, clung it around his left shoulder to his right shoulder. He hold him tight as if Steve would run away once he loosen his grip.

"Stay still so you won't get hurt. I'm being considerate here, cooperate." Dave simply said without any emotion but it makes him more terrifying.

Steve wish that Franz will use his brain just this time and listen to Dave. He feel like Dave is on the verge of snapping. One wrong move from Franz and he'll be beaten into pulp.

Another minute pass and finally two person appear in the scene. "Pres," Chester called.

"Chester bring the kid into his room," Dave ordered referring to the student behind Franz.

Chester complied and left bringing the kid along with him.

" Leo, keep Steve for me. Stay here, don't let him get away," Dave then release Steve gently making sure he wont hurt him.

Steve is stunned. So that's why Dave didn't do anything because he's waiting for this two? But it's not necessary. They can handle this situation by themselves so why bother others? He snap out of his thought when he heard Franz hissed.

He watch how Dave drag Franz with him without mercy. A worried expression is all over his face and Leo notice it all.

"Don't worry Dave is strong," Leo tried to comfort Steve.

"I know that's why I'm worried about Franz," Steve blurted out making Leo laugh.

"If Dave hear you he'll be jealous," he said between his laugh making Steve blush a little.

"Shut it. Let's just follow them," the vice president stop in his step when Leo grab his hand, stopping him.

He look around and give his friend a questioning look and the lad shake his hand saying, "Na-uh. Dave's order is to stay here."

"Why would I to listen him?" Steve raised one of his eyebrow.

"Because you're a kind vice president who cares about this pitiful representative. You won't let me suffer because of you, will you?"

"You sure how to play your card, huh?" Steve complained, cross his hand against his chest, and lean on the wall.

30 minutes pass but there is still no Dave in sight making the vice president anxious. He can't wait any longer. He stand straight and about to leave when the guy he's been waiting for came. The president's face is emotionless making him more anxious.

"How is it?" Steve spoke first.

"The guidance office decided to ban Franz for 2 weeks in school and let him do a public service for 1 month. They already called his parents to inform them."

Steve nodded satisfied in Dave's explanation. He doesn't have any business there so he commit to leave the two guy. But when he turn his back, Dave hold his hand.

"Leo. Thank you, you can leave now," Leo nodded, pass by him, and tap the president's shoulder.

"Let's talk Steve," Dave pleaded.

"If it's not related to the school then I'll leave," Steve coldly said.

He don't want to face him. He can't face him. If facing him means rejection then it'll be better to avoid him. This is the last year he'll need to face his first love's face after this year he can move on. He just need to hang in there.

"Don't leave," he flinched hearing Dave's voice tremble and then the latter sniff.

"A-are you crying?" Steve stuttered, he can't believe it. Is his ears playing trick on him?

"It's because you keep avoiding me and I don't know how to make it up to you." Just an hour ago Dave is so vicious like a villain but now he's crying like a kid.

Steve panicked and check their surrounding of there's someone around with a cold sweat, "D-don't cry."

The lad didn't know how to comfort the youngster infront of him. He never saw him cry so he's not sure how to soothe him.

"I will but promise me we'll talk—

"I promise! Just, please stop crying. Someone might see us." Steve answered right before Dave can finish his sentence.

Dave wipe his tears using the back of his hand and smiled sheepishly. Suddenly Steve feel like he's been tricked. The president grab his hand and run making him gasped. He silently let himself be drag by Dave and softly smile.

Dave open the door of the student council office. Steve feel weird, it's been 4 or 5 days since he last came here. He walk inside first and turn around as he reach the window and lean there. His back is seen outside since the window is wide open.

"So what do you want to talk about Dave?"

Dave gulped, nervous rush through his body. "Ahm, Steve... I know it's hard to believe because even I myself can't believe it to."

"Cut the chase Dave just say it. We're already late so hurry," though Steve feel overjoy he didn't let his guard down.

Unexpectedly, Dave's eyes abruptly lit up with determination, "I like you Steve."

𝘏𝘦 𝘭𝘪𝘬𝘦 𝘮𝘦...? 𝘏𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘢𝘵?!

"What did you said?" Steve wants to confirm if his ears didn't really play tricks with him.

"I like you, Steve. I love you."

Steve laugh shallowly, "Are you kidding me? After avoiding me for days you'll tell me you like me? The fuck Dave!" Steve shouted on the verge of crying.

He hated it. How can he say something like that as if he really did love him? After rejecting his existing for several times. After he decided to move on. He's starting to get use being away from him so why now?

𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘥𝘰 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘭𝘸𝘢𝘺𝘴 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘮𝘺 𝘩𝘰𝘱𝘦𝘴 𝘶𝘱 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘦 𝘐 𝘴𝘶𝘳𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘲𝘶𝘪𝘵?

Dave who was stunned after hearing Steve shout. It's his first time seeing this side of Steve, fagile and weak.

"I-I'm sorry," it's only the words that Dave can come up with.

"You... you always push me away whenever you want as if I'm not that important to you," Steve can't hold back his tears anymore.

"I-I'm sorry. This feelings so new to me, I didn't now how to deal with so I ran away fr it. My fear got the best of me, I'm sorry Steve." Dave reach for Steve's hand.

Steve hide his hand behind him, " Did you know how afraid I am when you keep avoiding me after that day. I thought you hated me. I thought you feel disgusted when you see me. I thought you'll abandon me.I thought I lose you." Steve's cry started to get louder, his vision got blurry from his tears.

Dave grab him and pull him into a hug. He caress Steve's back and whisper, "I'm sorry Steve. Please give me another chance, I'll be good. Date me and I'll prove it to you. I like you Steve, please go out with me."

Steve who bury his head in Dave's chest clearly the fast hearbeat of the latter. He's nervous, just like him. Dave waited a minute for Steve to finally calm down.

"It's like I can say no," Steve simply said and punch his chest making him laugh.

"Don't laugh jerk. I hate you," the subject of his affection punch him once again.

"Yeah, yeah I like you too." Dave hug him again and kiss his head.

They stay in the office until the first period for the afternoon class ended. They can't go back now when Steve's eyes is so puff fr crying. Dave's afraid that if anyone will see Steve now they'll find him adorable and fall for him just like he did.
