Chapter Thirty-Seven

A knock came at her door as she was twisting her hair into a braid, she kept one hand twisted in her hair as she snagged the knob and pulled the door open. Persephone was standing on the other side a nervous smile on her face. Kate gestured for her to come in and went back to the bathroom to finish her hair.

"I heard you and Amanda are going to your cafe for a bit today," Percy said as she wandered the room letting her fingers trail on the soft bedspread.

Kate came out of the bathroom and rummaged around her closet for a decent pair of tennis shoes, "I just need a break, Percy." She found the shoes and slipped them on.

"I am going with you," Percy stated, Kate began to shake her head and tell her no but Percy held up a hand to cut her off, "You owe me a week each month, that week has begun," she looked at Kate her usually sweet face dead serious. "We can spend that week here, or...." her voice trailed off and Kate groaned inwardly.
