Chapter Nighty

 Kate knelt on her hands and knees with Ares's hair wrapped tightly in his hand, it was getting harder to breathe and she was almost certain one of her lungs had been punctured and her leg may have been slightly healed but it still throbbed. She closed her eyes and tried to push all of that pain from her mind, tunneling deep inside herself finding a small thread of her fire magick. Gripping it she pulled and sparks began to shoot from her fingertips, that was all she needed, digging her hand into the dry grass beneath her she let the sparks fly and the dry grass caught aflame quicker than she had thought it would. Throwing her head back she slammed her entire body against Ares who had loosened his grip on her hair the second the ground lit up.

 Due to his surprise, she was able to get out of his grip and she rolled away from him and closer to Artemis who had gotten to her shakey legs and was standing with her bow and arrow aimed at her brother.
