Chapter Eighty-Eight

Kate looked up to see a familiar god standing a few yards away from them on a slight hill so he was looking down on his son. He was clad in his pitch-black armor, and his muscular arms and legs bulged against the weapons he had strapped to them. Her eyes fell on the sword at his side, it was as black as the rest of his clothing save for bright fire-red ruby sitting on its hilt and blinking with every slight movement. His red eyes seemed to flare with anger and his rough face was set in a sneer, it seemed like he felt close to the same way about Deimos that almost everyone else did.

"It looks like you were taking advantage of being left here alone with the mortal vessel," he took a slow step toward them and she felt her chains tense as the god holding them did the same, his eyes following each of his father's footsteps. Ares made his way towards them deliberately taking his time and watching as his son became more nervous with each step and silent look.
