"This man walk up on the same route as Karl walks back to his apartment," Lily continued. Karl walks out of the room and approaches Jason and Lily. He comes with a calm expression, trying to ignore the weird looks from Jason and Lily. He gives a small smile.

"Hey, what's up, guys?" Karl asks in a friendly tone, looking at Jason and Lily who are clearly surprised by his appearance. Jason starts, quickly hiding his phone. "Oh... nothing, just... chatting casually."

Lily tries to smile, but her gaze is slightly suspicious, as if trying to make sure Karl really didn't hear their conversation earlier. "Yeah, just talking about unimportant stuff. By the way, you've been living in an apartment nearby for a long time, huh?" she asks, pretending to be casual.

Karl nods. "Yeah, quite a while. Why do you ask?"
