Zoey straight up cut off Chloe's words "I'm just friends with Karl, okay?" and then she bounced.
Once Zoey left, Chloe strutted her stuff to her new apartment. When she got there, she was greeted by Amber, her fellow Homo Obscura friend who was busy unpacking. Amber immediately sensed Chloe's confused expression.
"Hey, Chloe! You look weird. What's up?" Amber asked with a smile.
Chloe shook her head and gave a small smile, trying to hide her confusion. "Oh, I just bumped into Zoey in the hallway. She just came out of Karl's apartment. I don't really know what's going on, but... it feels weird seeing her there."
Amber furrowed her brow. "You mean Karl who works at the same place as us?"
"Yeah, turns out he lives in the same building as us too," Chloe replied.
