Coming of the Apocalypse Queen

In the year 2XXX, a blue meteor from outer space landed on Earth and signaled the dawn of the apocalypse. More than 60% of the population was wiped out by a mysterious disease. Plants and animals turned into mutants. People gained powers and abilities. The world and the government collapsed and turned into a world where only the strong is respected while the weak are doomed to die. Lilian Mo didn't have a good life during the apocalypse. She was reduced to being a possession of her fiancé and became his glorified bed warmer. He kept her locked up in his villa and rarely allowed her to go out, keeping her around as his pet that he took care of. Though it was considered a luxury to be able to eat three times a day and drink clean water in the apocalypse when all the water sources are contaminated, Lilian Mo sneered at this kind of life and escaped her confinement meeting people along the way and gaining an ability on her own. She found 'friends' during her journey and fought alongside them through life and death, only to be betrayed by them. Lilian Mo died tragically when she was pushed to a group of mutant animals by her so-called 'friend' whom she treated as a sister. When it seemed like everything was going to end for her, she opened her eyes and went back to her sixteen-year-old body, two months before the apocalypse. "The heavens have not forsaken me." Lilian Mo swore to grow stronger and take revenge on those that betrayed her trust. Lucky for her, she was reborn with the knowledge of the future and given her own special dimension. Her golden cheats allowed her to sail through the apocalypse without worrying about food or water. After waking up two months before the apocalypse, Lilian Mo decided to set her eyes on the people that wronged her. ▪▪▪ A story about a girl's journey to becoming stronger while trying to survive in the apocalyptic world and facing the man of her past. ▪▪▪ Reminding my readers that this book's rating is [No One 17 And Under Allowed] which means it contains mature content not suitable for young readers. Read at your own discretion. This also includes gore, violence, abuse, and explicit content because the setting is an apocalyptic world. The MC is a heartless person who kills without hesitation but has a soft spot for the people she cares about. If this bothers you, feel free to drop the book. There are no major misunderstandings between the characters. Face slapping is reduced to a minimum and there are no exaggerated or draggy arguments. I only write happy endings ;) This is pure fiction. Don't expect it to be realistic. My third language is English--hoping that the Grammar Nazis would be gentle with me Cover photo not mine. I only edited it.

We Won't Ever Be Separated

Lin Jiaojiao was quiet for a moment.

She was actually quite sad and miserable for a while when she was in captivity. She never gave up the hope that he would come to save her.

But then, it was Lilian Mo who came and gave her the courage to hold a sword and stab that hateful man many times like he was meat in a butcher shop.

Lin Jiaojiao smiled. "Big brother, I waited for you... I was always waiting because I believed you would come one day. But then, you didn't and it was Big sister Mo who came. I actually don't want to keep remembering those days..." Lin Jiaojiao said in a shaky tone.

"It was dark and scary. I couldn't fight. I felt weak and unable to do anything. I thought of you and how you always protected me. Big brother... you were really strong. You raised me for the past few years all alone so I told myself... I also want to be strong like you." She raised her head and smiled at him, tears streaming down her face.

"So... I'm not mad. I'll never be mad at you, Big brother. It is because of you that I didn't give up. I was only sad and mad at myself because all this time, I relied on you. After being with Big sister Mo and the rest of the team, I realized how much of a burden I was. So instead..."

Lin Jiaojiao stood up and bowed down.

"I want to apologize, Big brother! It must have been hard on you all this time. Raising me all alone and shouldering all the burden by yourself... I never knew! And I was so naive!"

Lin Fang's eyes narrowed and he shook his head vigorously.

"No. No. You aren't a burden. My Jiao'er will neve be a burden to me. It was me who failed to protect you so I should be the one apologizing. You did nothing wrong!"

Lin Fang immediately felt ashamed of himself once more. His little sister actually felt like this. It was his fault for making her feel that way.

He held both of her hands.

"Jiao'er was never a burden. Back then, whenever I was tired from work, you would be there waiting for my arrival. Being able to come home with someone waiting for me was the best feeling I could ever ask. It made me feel relieved and happy. I wasn't alone because you were there for big brother. If not for Jiao'er, I also wouldn't have become courageous."

Lin Fang smiled sadly.

"In fact, I am a big coward. I am only able to gather courage because Jiao'er is there. When we were separated, I tried to look for you. However, it wasn't an easy task and I encountered trouble along the way. Then I heard the news that the other city was overrun by mutant animals and that there was no hope of you or any survivor being alive. I was actually quite foolish because part of me believed them while the other was still hoping."

Lin Fang hung his head lowly.

"I'm sorry... Big brother failed you..."

As the only two left in the family and being siblings that were very close to each other, Lin Jiaojiao didn't have the heart to stay angry at Lin Fang.

He was still her big brother and blood is thicker than water. No matter how stupid the reason, she would always stand beside him.

"Big brother... Don't worry. You're here now. We won't be separated anymore! I also learned how to fight so I won't be a burden any longer!"

Lin Fang closed his eyes. He never wanted his sister to see the cruelty of this world. When their parents died, he assumed the responsibility of being a sibling and a parent.

He felt that it was his duty to protect her from all harm.

However, it was too late for that.

Lin Fang opened his eyes, a knowing smile emerging on his lips. He placed a hand on top of her head, his eyes curving like that of a fox's.

"Yes... We won't ever be separated.... Big brother would never disappoint you again."
