Long time no see
Odin walked around the streets with a pizza box in one hand and a slice in the other. He was in thought looking back through his time here from just a piece of land with trees to now a modern city that would later become a capital for the united American coalition after the second unification war a few thousand years later. While he was here he thought of meeting some friends from a couple of years ago.
'Hope they're still alive it's been what seventy years they should be ninety some years old by now.' Odin walked through the streets heading to a more unpopulated area. this area looks more worn than the rest to Odin this still looked as how it was in the fifties. when he was an orphan with very little memory of who he was only a name and a few skills to survive in the streets.
When he was ten he met a young immigrant couple who were trying to start a business. he later learned how the man got the building and he was impressed he could have worked as a scammer and made millions easily with his talk. during the time he stole multiple times from them, it was all food the couple later confronted him learning of his background they took pity on him. so he always came and helped in exchange for food. he got quite close to them it was like the parents he never had much later on he left leaving only a martial skill that he remembered. he was going to give something else but didn't get the chance after being killed by the mafia after saving a kid. now coming back he wished to give them something for all they did for him.
Odin soon came to an old building the withered sign the dusty glass the chips on the stone and wood. He saw a young man coming outside from the building the man looked like a young version of his friend. Odin walked up to the man "are you the grandson of David and Amy?" Odin asked the man he was certain but he just asked to make sure. of course, he could just go to them if he used his sense but he didn't want to go unexpectedly out of random. The young man looked at Odin he didn't know any young man that would recognize his grandpa and grandmother. he must be the son of one of their friends but most are already gone.
"Yes I am and you are?" the man asked. "I'm the son of a friend of your grandparents his name is Odin," Odin said as he stretched his hand to shake the man's hand the young man shook it, and his eyes widened he knew this Odin his grandparents always talked about him. if he didn't leave he would have been the boy's uncle he was surprised to see the son of that man his parents always got depressed when they talked about his leaving. they always wanted to know where he left to. "Yes, I know of him my grandparents always talked about him how is he?" the young man smiled as he asked Odin he was actually quite grateful to Odin. the man left a martial art and it was incredibly powerful even though he looked very weak he could easily lift five hundred pounds as if it were feathers. his grandparents had used it longer and the effects were more visible even when they were in their nineties they looked like they were in their early sixties.
"Sadly the old man has left us a few years back and I found something he wanted to deliver to your grandparents and I also wanted to know more about him." Odin said as he took out a small iron box. The young man looked at the small box and said. "If you want I can give you their address give me your phone ill put it on maps." the man said as he held out his hand. Odin was going to do it until he remembered he doesn't have a phone well he did since he regained his body all the cybernetic enhances were reinstalled. even the newest flow but soon it hit him he could just make the phone so he put his hand in his pocket and a phone came out he handed it to him with maps opened.
The young man typed the address and handed the phone back to Odin "there you go I'll have to go since my girlfriend needs me see you later" the man started walking off but Odin said. "Hey what's your name mines Odin." the young man turned around chuckling lightly and said. "So we are both named after our granddad's mines David." and with that, David turned around and walked off Odin smiled something always repeated. he met David here long ago and now he met David here. Odin gained the location from the phone into his system so he walked to the place they lived in now. Odin found a garbage bin and threw away the empty pizza box.
'Damm this place is far,' Odin thought it took half an hour of course he could have teleported nearby but he decided to enjoy the walk while having a conversation with his subconscious. "This place isn't bad if I do say so," Odin said as he looked around it didn't look as messy as the rest of the places he walked up the stairs and soon he realized.
"The dude didn't give me the room number well at least I know where they are with my sense." he headed to room 304 it was at the top of the building he knocked on the door and heard an old voice "give me a second." Odin smiled as the door was opened he looked at the old man he still locked strong the muscles on his body were toned well and the vigor in his eyes was strong.
The old man looked at Odin for a second and soon he was shocked this boy looks like the exact version of the small kid he met long ago. "Hey, old man seems like the technique I gave you worked well how you've been?" Odin said as he hugged the old man David was stunned and he just hugged back the way the young man talked to him was just like Odin he even said that he gave it which stunned him. "You're his grandson?" David asked it really couldn't be Odin even if he used the technique he shouldn't be this young. at most he should look in his forties or fifties the age gap was only ten years after all.
"Nope I'm Odin in the flesh it's been a long time since we've seen each other. I asked your grandson for direction back at the restaurant you had." Odin said with a laugh for right that moment he felt happy the endless rage from his own heart and his sin became nonexistent. David was shocked this was the kid that he had known so long ago and he still looked the same. "Where have you been I and Amy have missed you and how are you so young you still look like you're in your teens?" David asked the last time he saw Odin he was turning 19. now he looked the same maybe even younger.
"I've been over the world but don't worry about that it's not important how have you two been where's Amy?" Odin walked into the living room and sat on the sofa. David took out some tea and some small sugar cookies. "She's in the bedroom reading we've done very well over the years here have some tea." David handed a cup of green tea as Odin sipped on it he remembered why he didn't drink the tea from this world. it's just water with leaf flavor if Odin were to name any regret that he had from the God era was he would say destroying the good tea trees. As Odin quietly lamented the loss of good tea on earth David went and brought Amy over. she was shocked she didn't believe that Odin came to visit them after all he left and never returned. when she saw him she believed but she was also surprised because he still looked young.
"Hello, Amy it's been a long time," he said as he put the cup down and went over and hugged her. Amy hugged Odin strongly she always considered Odin as her own son. Odin let go and walked over to the sofa the couple sat opposite of him. "Well you might be wondering why I'm here long story short I want to give something to you that I meant to give long ago and also give you something that will change your life," Odin said as he took out the metal box he placed it on the coffee table. he also took out two square metal pieces and placed them on the table next to the box.
"Now let me tell you what they are the metal box contains around five thousand dollars. that was the amount I saved and was going to give you for when I left but fate had something else so I couldn't give it." Odin opened the box and a stack of bills was neatly inside. "Now these two things are very outdated technology but they are top quality. these can be considered as future phones that will allow you to surf the universal web," Odin said as he pointed to the squares the couple looked confused was this a joke? What type of universal phone was this?
"If you would take one and prick your finger with the edge you'll see what I mean." Odin saw their confusion so it was best to let them see what he meant. The couple looked at each other as they picked up the squares how would prickling their finger answer them? But still, they didn't have much to lose so they did it as they pricked their finger a red drop of blood oozed out, and the square became a liquid as the small nanites entered the body. they made their way to the brain the nanites started moving deeper until they connected to the neurons of the brain soon the couple received a multitude of information about the technology the universal web and how to use it. this information was processed very quickly due to the now enhanced brain.
"So you see what I mean," Odin said as he looked at the couple's stunned expression. "Yes I see what you mean now so there really is other life out there," David said he soon received a notification [Odin has sent a friend request] he accepted it since the technology was integrated into him now he felt as if he had used it since he was born. "Now let me guide you through the web there will be some restrictions for you since you're on earth but don't worry it's not very bad." Odin said a black silhouette appeared behind Odin Odin lifted his hand and so did the figure. "This is an avatar this will be your identity on the web. the color varies between people it's mostly about personality but you can turn it into yourself if you so wish."
The figure disappeared and Odin took a cookie and ate it. "Now these are the rules before we continue you can chat to anyone but don't talk about the earth. you can buy things but don't buy highly advanced equipment and no space ships and do not and I mean do not allow any race to come to earth only delivery is permitted." Odin said very seriously he really didn't mind if they got the technology but a spaceship that's just asking for trouble. with David's tongue, he could probably somehow convince his people to give him a scout ship for free and those are already bigger than the milky way alone.
