Chapter 39: Cold Palace!!!

Scene1:

Above the plateau...

Zhang Wei was staring deeply at Xialin as she was fast asleep, something about her captures his attention. Zhang Wei unable to understand why or how is that possible he simply watches her sleep. Truth be told, Zhang Wei never even steal a glance at another woman besides Xifeng! Which means he never even looked at another woman for the past 900 years. Xifeng was the only woman, Zhang Wei has ever loved.

Unable to figure out the cause of the attraction, which lure him in like a magnet, Zhang Wei's heart skipped a beat. The milky white and soft skin of Xialin seemed to be glowing in his eyes. Even her sleeping face looks attractive and beautiful. Her curvy figure just looks right, then the pinkish lips. It catches his attention. The more he looked at it, the more it seems to be tasty like a ripened cherry.

The uneasy feelings rushed inside his heart. It seems that the sleeping beauty before him has owned his heart. Zhang Wei leans on closer towards Xialin as he was drowned by her beauty. His heart was beating louder and louder as he was getting nearer towards her. The figure right before his eyes made his dead heartbeat to life again. It was luring him the same way like it did to him before. A restless and unsettled feeling, that kinda rush that makes him crave her and wants her all for himself.

It makes him feel like she was the one he had been looking for the past 900 years.

Unable to tame his wild self anymore, Zhang Wei gazed deeply at those cherry-like lips again and tried to kiss it. Right there at that moment, Xialin turns sideways as she was sleeping peacefully. Zhang Wei take a deep breath and sighed. He then turned aside not wanting to have those uneasy, restless thoughts again. Zhang Wei immediately got up and walked out from there. He then seated at a flat rock and calm his heart. He then continued cultivating his qi there, trying to distract himself from his crazy thoughts.

The day went by just like that. Zhang Wei has surpassed the mark of a true gentleman, even after having all those crazy, restless thoughts. He maintained his composure and tamed his wild self.

The next day...

Xialin slowly opened her eyes after a peaceful night. She felt lighter, feeling the best. As soon as she opened up her eyes, she saw Zhang Wei cultivating his qi, there was an intense blue energy wave flowing around him. Xialin in awe seated at the rock and watches it. It was the first time that she saw such a grand sight. She smiled and eagerly watches it at awe. Zhang Wei concluded his cultivation after a short while and opened his eyes.

Then he saw Xialin, watching him with those keen sparkly eyes. He smiled at seeing her and spoke gazing deeply with those almond shape eyes, "You awake...!"

Xialin stretched her arms and replied cheerfully, "I feel so good and energetic!"

She then continued, "Between... what happened?? Where are we?! I remember I was shot with something by those bad guys!?"

Zhang Wei slowly woke up and replied boasting his prowess, "They ran away after seeing my prowess! They are no match for me! Don't you worry!"

He further added, "And...about the thing they shot, it was poison! I already took it out! You need not worry about it!!"

Xialin awestruck by his words stood up and exclaimed, "I was poison by the bad guys?!! Wow...!! They were about to assassinate me??!! What the heck did I do to deserve such honour!?"

Zhang Wei smirked at her behaviour, he came up to her and spoke gaily, "So you didn't remember anything?!!"

Xialin looked at Zhang Wei in dazed...

It seems that she didn't remember what went wrong. Therefore, Zhang Wei raised his brows and gave her a slight hint, "Think about it!! It was something..... something that...…...you..... ate...!"

Xialin thinks hard about it, "Something I ate?!! I have eaten all kinds of weird things in the world!!!"

Then suddenly the flashback came of her eating the blue coral elixir... She exclaimed in awe, "Ah...that!"

Xialin then continues slowly, "It was because of that elixir that my brother is in that dire state!"

Remembering her brother Xulan, Xialin's face went back to pale. She quickly made up her mind, "Master! Thank you for helping me again. I am truly indebted to you. I will return your favour someday. For the time being, I shall continue with my journey!"

Zhang Wei realising her pale face, he nods his head and spoke sternly, "You have to save your brother! Isn't it?! Then... I shall guide the way. Follow me.."

Zhang Wei then went forward towards the edge of the plateau. Xialin curiously followed him back. Upon reaching the edge of the plateau he stops there. Xialin crash onto Zhang Wei's back, she then turned aside shyly. Since it was all dark the bluish glow in Xialin's eyes started to appear with it she was able to see the magnificent sight! It was a tremendous thing!!

From there she was able to see the Cold Palace!! The palace which she had been searching for the last few days was finally standing there right before her eyes!

It was exactly as described by her brother. The icy Cold Palace was frozen with thick white ice and surrounding it was a sum of dark trees with no leaves on its branches. For some reason, the palace looks eerie even from afar.

Xialin didn't mind it. She was determined to get there. Seeing the Cold Palace her gloomy heart seems to lighten a bit. She was getting a faint piece of hope that she might be able to save her brother. Xialin thanked Zhang Wei with her palm resting on the fist of the other hand, "Thank You, Master! I shall never forget your kindness"

Zhang Wei lifted his face and spoke up with his deep almond eyes locking on the Cold Palace, "Normal people won't be able to enter that place but since you have consumed my blue coral elixir, you won't have any problem entering there". He then turned to Xialin, gaze seriously at her and continue, "Just remember one thing... ask for the immortal's help with a sincere heart, don't get on his nerves. I hope he helps you!"

Xialin nods her head then walked out from there. She came down from there as fast as she could and reached the ground. 

She walked towards the path of the Cold Palace. Xialin tossed aside the branches and continued to walk. From afar, she was able to saw the Cold Palace as it was getting nearer and nearer. The Cold palace was extremely beautiful! It looks like God's own castle! Whoever built it must be a famous architect! Xialin thought to herself. There was an intense strong aura flowing around the surroundings of the Cold Palace. It seems that not even a single living being pass by in that part of the Fog Forest. There was not even a single fly! 

Xialin was flabbergasted at the awkward vibe of that place. The aura was strong yet calm. It does not seem evil but powerful. The aura of the place made Xialin think that a powerful mythical beast was tamed to sleep. Xialin puts up a brave act and continued towards it. To save Xulan was the only thought that was on her mind. As she continues she reach the place! She was standing right before the Cold Palace!
