"Don't worry! I am here!" Charles said confidently as he adjusted the settings of the machine into one of it's defaults.

It is the fifty percent all parameters setting.

Reynald's setting was a hundred percent for the humanoid form and fifty percent for the fighter plane form.

So, Char is in a disadvantage in humanoid form fights against Reynald but they aren't fighting in humanoid form but in the fighter plane form!

He still can go against Reynald!

So he would not let go!

Specially since even the fifty percent setting is already faster than the latest fighter plane model right now.

No one other than him can stop Reynald.

Only, he does not know that Reynald had already finished doing configuration on his knightmare frame so that it's transformation transition ability is already very fast.

Rey only need a second of delay for the transformation to be completed unlike the default setting which needed two seconds and it still needs to not be interrupted.

Everything of this is not known to Char as he starts up his knightmare frame.

'I am quite late even after rushing everything I can and even forgoing some things!

Sigh...

Rey! Why?!' Char thought to himself with some frustration as he sighed although he did not show it on his face.

*Ksshh

"We already got the gps tracking signal of the spy's knightmare frame, you can just follow him straight up." The commander of the agents said calmly.

*Ksshh, Ksshh

"Copy that." Char said with a neutral tone in a very calm manner.

*ksshh, ksshh

"Are you sure about going after him?" The commander asked just to make sure.

"Yes sir. I can definitely do it." Char said with confidence and certainty. "Our machines should have the same configuration right now and our abilities are matched so I can definitely hold him down.

Even taking him down is possible if I have a chance!

The fighter planes reinforcements are coming with me, so I can definitely do it!"

"Alright! We believe in you!" The command of the Agents said to him trying to give more confidence and reassurance.

Taking a deep breath.

Char had already gotten into the runway.

If people are wondering why this school that is mostly dedicated to teaching how to pilot knightmare frame has a runway then it is because of related training for the machine.

The machine already has a dedicated transport aircraft for solo flight.

The school also double as a temporary military base near the coastal waters so air supply transport is made smoother by having a runway and a hangar.

"This is Tristan Proto unit 02 asking for flight permission to air base. I repeat...." Char said into the long range communication as he did the flight protocol just so he does not get treated as an enemy accidentally.

People just can't fly using big machines in some country's airspace without permission, specially for big countries and countries at war.

The least that can happen is that being surrounded and escorted by a few fighter planes into some airbase for investigation while the worst would be being shot down by missiles or anti-air artillery without warning at all.

Countries won't explain or give warnings specially when they are at war if you trespass their territory.

"Tristan proto type unit 02, pilot, Charles Ashenville is granted permission." The nearby airbase responded to him positively.

Thankfully, they had already practice doing flights so the airbase is already used to their knightmare frames going in the skies if not then it would have taken a lot of time to get this permission.

This is also why Char is already used to doing the standard protocol for flight.

The moment Char heard the positive reply, he quickly lifted of and zoomed into the sky, going at the maximum speed that the current parameters of the machine permitted him.

'Rey! Prepare yourself! For, I am here!' Char thought inwardly as he got a slight tunnel vision from going full speed at the beginning.

Although it does not affect anyone much when you are in the open sky, it is still a bad thing when you are in a fight.

He took almost no time at catching up to Rey as Rey is not going on full speed because he had Fraye with him in the cockpit and she is not protected by a seatbelt or a helmet.

It is really bad for her.

It is already fortunate that the cockpit had been specially design for the inertia produce by moving at high speeds so the effects had been reduced by a huge amount compared to what is being felt by those latest fighter plane pilots even when the machine they are using is going much, much faster than that.

And of course, as the standard shounen fighting scene cliche, they both opened up their coms at public channel the moment they had seen each other appearing in their surveillance and detection systems.

Everyone knows that shounen rivals should use talk no jutsu when they are fighting!

"Rey!" Char shouted as he lock onto his target and proceeded to make a collision!

Knightmare frame are made from sturdier materials than fighter planes because they are expected to do some collisions when necessary and the Tristan proto type is even more, because it was the latest work of AA and having melee capability even when you specialize in long range is a must for any mech, right?

Char is also not given with ammunition for the gun of his knightmare frame because it is also an experimental weapon, the weaponry of all three Tristan proto type are the same and that is fortunate as that made sure that Rey also don't have a range weaponry.

This experimental gun can be considered as a semi rail gun because it uses electro magnetism as propulsion for projectiles unlike the traditional guns who uses gunpowder.

It can only be called semi because it's projectiles had not reached the required speed of what a rail gun should be while also not being quite accurate when used at sniper range of firing.

This gun can be considered as a shotgun in it's precision and recoil while the damage is like a sniper rifle because the ammunition it uses does not have a scattering effect like a normal shotgun bullet.
