Third POV

While Akihito was deep in thought about what he had seen. Mr. Sakayanagi entered the communal area informing that their visit to the white room was concluded and that they could leave now.

Arisu and Akihito exchanged glances, preparing to depart with Mr. Sakayanagi. As they left, Akihito cast one last glance at the girl he had observed, deciding to set aside his thoughts and leave them behind.

 Akihito POV

After leaving the White Room, we entered the car and began the journey back home. Mr. Sakayanagi had mentioned some unfinished business that required his attention, so he left us with the driver before driving away in his own car.

The journey wouldn't take long, approximately 30-40 minutes. Deciding to take a moment to rest, I glanced at what Arisu was doing. Finding her immersed in her book, I closed my eyes to rest.

A sudden ominous feeling enveloped me, and something felt amiss. I first checked on Arisu, who was still engrossed in her book. Then, I glanced at the clock and realized only 10 minutes had passed since we started resting.

Just as I started to dismiss my unease as mere paranoia, the car abruptly slowed down. My eyes widened as I noticed a group of unfamiliar vehicles blocking the road ahead. The ominous feeling intensified.

"Stay here, Arisu." I whispered, my tone firm as I assessed the situation. Deciding to confront the individuals blocking our way, I carefully opened the car door and stepped out into the tense atmosphere. There were roughly 6-8 people with masks on their heads.

"What do you want?" I demanded, my voice steady, ready for any sudden movements.

The assailants remained silent. Assessing the situation, I noticed their movements, trying to gauge whether negotiation or direct action was the best course of action.

After a moment a silence the leader of the group stepped forward, a strong aura surrounding him. His voice distorted by the mask, conveyed their purpose. "We're here for her," he pointed at the car where Arisu was hiding.

A surge of protectiveness washed over me. I positioned my self in a defensive style between the car and the assailants, determined to protect her from whatever threat they posed. "You won't lay a hand on her," I declared, taking my stance ready for any minute.

The man then smirked, and the other subordinates started to laugh aloud. After a moment, when the laughter settled, he began to talk again.

"Kid, better go back. We only want her. Leave, and we won't harm you. Now scram."

"As I said, if you want her, then you have to go through me."

As I uttered those words, he locked eyes with me and signaled to his subordinates to attack. The atmosphere tensed, and the impending confrontation unfolded.

Without warning, the first attacker lunged at me. My hand morphed into a claw-like shape, fingers hardening and sharpening. I struck him in where I could end him with one hit.

The other taken aback by how easily their friend went down but also by the unexpected transformation, hesitated for a moment.

Seizing the opportunity, I swiftly moved through the group, taking down two more.

The frustrated leader shouted, "What are you doing? Everyone, attack together, all at once!" In response to his command, they all rushed toward me.

The four that leader had ordered to rushed at me was taken down one after another now only the leader remaining.

Now Concentrating on the leader who was frustrated with the unfolding situation, drew a concealed weapon.

My focus heightened, and with a swift motion, he aimed his weapon.

Thinking he was going to shoot me, I moved forward, but that made him smirk. His goal was not me; he was aiming at Arisu, who had come out from the car, watching from the sidelines.

My heart suddenly felt heavy, and without thinking, I employed a special move taught to us at the organization. Enhancing my legs, I felt the strength surging through them as I dashed toward Arisu.

Swiftly, I hugged her, ensuring her safety, and leaped to the side. In the midst of this, a loud gunshot echoed, followed by a sharp pain in my upper shoulder from behind.

Despite being wounded, I didn't waste any time. I quickly guided Arisu to a safe hiding spot before turning back to face the threat.

Arisu POV

My heart raced fast, while Akihito went out to confronted whoever that was blocking our way I decided to call my father. While calling my father I looked for the driver that was with us and saw him trying to get off the car.

"Hey, where are you going? Help me call the cops while I call my father, or go help Akihito."

"Lady, I don't get paid enough for this. I'm leaving. Leave me alone." He ran away leaving me alone in the car.

My father then answered his phone, and I told him what had occurred.

"Sweetheart, wait there. I have contacted the cops. They are on the way. Hang on."

Still talking with my father, I saw that Akihito had begun to fight with the masked individuals.

As I watched Akihito confronting the assailants, he took down two of them easily. Then without realizing it, all of them were down, bleeding.

This left me in awe, witnessing Akihito taking down the masked individuals. Thinking the ordeal was over, I cautiously exited the car and stood on the sidelines. To my surprise, I noticed one more person still standing.

The man had a gun pointed at Akihito? At me? Suddenly, I realized he was targeting me, my head spinning I was scared, frozen in place. My body wouldn't listen as I tried to escape. The man's dangerous gaze made it hard to move, and fear took over, turning everything blurry.

Closing my eyes waiting for something to happen something happened I couldn't comprehend what was happening. Now lying down and hiding, I realized Akihito had somehow saved me, but how?

My heart sank as I witnessed Akihito being wounded, and a surge of guilt washed over me. I couldn't help but blame myself for being the reason he got hurt. If I hadn't bed reckless and gotten out of the car, this wouldn't have happened.

Holding back my tears, I watched as Akihito dashed towards the man with the gun. As the man lifted the gun to shoot again, Akihito swiftly acted, and the man's arm, holding the gun, fell off, blood oozing out like a river. And with that, everything came to an end.

As Akihito drew near, a comforting smile on his face, and he checked to ensure I was unharmed, the floodgates of my emotions burst open. Tears streamed down my face as I tightly embraced him.

"Wait," he protested, concern in his voice. "I'm soaked in blood. You're gonna get dirty."

But in that moment, I didn't care about stains or cleanliness. All that mattered was that we were safe, that he was safe, and I held onto him as if the hug could replace the fear and pain, replacing them with a warm feeling in my heart.
