Volume 2 - Chapter 8: Nicole

"'Sir!'' June shouted and immediately shot an arrow towards the Mad Scientist, although the shot missed, it bought them approximately 10 seconds for Pule and Camelia to attack. They quickly drew their weapons and launched their assault.

The Mad Scientist effortlessly evaded and parried each attack, his ugly grin growing even more hideous with every second.

Meanwhile, Nicole managed to quietly make her way to Aaron's side and began healing him. Aaron was covered in cuts despite having only taken a single kick - how could he be so wounded?

"I... I'm fine," Aaron said calmly but with a hint of pain in his voice.

"Please lie down!" Nicole replied with teary eyes. Seeing the tears in her eyes, Aaron began to realize the extent of his mistake. Initially, he only wanted to protect his family, but now he had put other people in danger. Yet, this time, he didn't want to run away.

"Alright. Please do your best," Aaron said, wiping away Nicole's tears.
